Our 19th-century barn has been meticulously renovated and restored to its original glory… with a few added bells and whistles. We offer air-conditioning, heating, and a 4-foot disco ball, among other modern amenities. The property is a hidden gem set amidst 34 acres of breathtaking grounds with open meadows, forests, winding nature trails, and gardens, offering an idyllic backdrop for events of up to 200 guests. We specialize in creating unforgettable celebrations filled with heart. An Authentic 1891 Barn, Restored with Modern Amenities.
The barn offers an intimate environment, accommodating dinner seating for 80 (with multiple options on the grounds to place tents for larger group dinners), and standing room for up to 175 guests for dancing and cocktails. The mezzanine-level hayloft has been converted to a cozy lounge with a vintage cigar-bar vibe: leather club seating, Persian rugs, a gallery wall and photo booth make this hidden speakeasy-style nook a fun surprise for your event!

They have gave us our dream wedding, seriously.
We're not honestly sure where to begin with how over-the-moon ecstatic and thrilled we were to have our wedding at Black Walnut Farm. Let us start by saying that Jim & Sarah are the most amazing venue managers/people you will ever meet. Anything we needed help with, any questions we had, any concerns we wanted addressed, they handled them quickly and respectfully. Our original venue lost their permits and canceled on us 4 months before our wedding. To say we were stressed is an understatement. Somehow, through some magic of the universe, we found BWF. It was even better than our original place, and had everything we wanted. We found out they were brand new and didn't exist yet when we were looking. So, it was truly a blessing in disguise. Both Sarah & Jim jumped to help us gather our thoughts, our stresses and our ideas to bring our dream day back to life. Black Walnut Farm is an absolutely gorgeous wedding venue (especially if you're looking for a fall wedding, as we did). Our dream wedding was always "vintage fairytale" and it provided that vibe to a T, with versatility for other themes as well. From the rustic cottage (that turned out to basically be our dream home); to the barn itself with its farm-style picnic tables and mismatched chairs (a dream of the bride's); to the grounds - everything is meticulously cared for. All the decor is designed beautifully and artistically by the two of them with each item being picked for specific reasons. Plus, you get Miss Lily, the Pro-purr-ty Manager, as an honorary wedding guest, so that was an excellent plus. Seriously though, if you're looking for a wedding venue in the area and you want a place where the managers are willing to go above and beyond and ensure your perfect day is exactly that; we honestly believe that you can not find a better option than Black Walnut Farm. All of our guests can't stop raving about how perfect it was and how beautiful everything turned out to be. We can't wait to come back and visit for an anniversary down the road so that we can relive the most perfect day in our relationship thanks to Jim & Sarah and their attention to detail. We could write a novel on our love and appreciation for BWF. We joke that they are our fairy godparents but they are so much more than that. They are magic-makers, loving friends, and truly own something special. Do NOT hesitate on Black Walnut Farm.
Black Walnut Farm is Magical
“How did you FIND this place?!” We heard this from our guests all night long. It felt like we’d discovered a secret garden, and everyone was desperate to know the story behind it. We got married at Black Walnut Farm in the fall of 2024. It was the first venue we visited, and we knew it was "the one" the moment we stepped out of the car—even before seeing the full extent of the work that has since gone into it. Owners Sarah and Jim have created something truly special; you can feel the heart and soul they’ve poured into the property while beautifully maintaining its historical integrity and charm. Getting to witness the venue’s progression in the months leading up to our wedding made us appreciate the sheer passion and hard work they pour into every detail. Sarah and Jim's support made all the difference. Because of the diligence they showed throughout our planning process, we felt entirely at ease when the big day finally arrived. We knew we were in excellent hands. If you’re on the fence about the full weekend package: do it. Beyond allowing us to feel completely at home, it gave us the space to host welcome drinks on the grounds as a “sneak peek” for our guests, while keeping the ceremony site and the barn under wraps for a big reveal the next day. The day after our wedding, we had the whole place to ourselves when our loved ones left and we wandered the enchanting grounds with our dog, basking in the warmth of all the love and joy we felt. Black Walnut Farm is a unique, deeply human venue. We couldn't have picked a better place to start our lives together.
Best wedding venue ever
The most stunning, fun, and flexible wedding venue I could’ve ever imagined. Staying on the beautiful property in the most incredibly decorated historic home was an absolute highlight. The whole team at Black Walnut was extremely helpful and supportive throughout the planning process. We used Events Unlimited for rentals super close by for a tented dinner set up. Getting ready in the sunroom of the house, with gorgeous landscapes for family photos, ceremony in the woods, cocktails on the lawn, tented dinner, dancing in the barn under the 4 ft disco ball, ending with a massive bonfire … it was such an incredible experience !!! Thank you, thank you, thank you to Black Walnut!!
A Perfect Weekend!
Black Walnut Farm will always hold a special place in our hearts. It was the first venue we saw, and the moment we stepped on the property, we knew it was where we were meant to get married. From the start, Sara, Jim, and their team cared for us with such warmth and attention. Their online planning portal made everything simple, but what we loved most was how personally they got to know us. They listened to our vision and brought it to life in a way that felt truly meaningful. Throughout the weekend, every detail was handled with so much thought. Our guests felt welcomed, we felt supported, and even when the weather forced last-minute changes, the team stayed calm and kept everything running beautifully. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. Black Walnut Farm isn’t just a stunning venue, it’s a place filled with people who genuinely care about making your day unforgettable. We couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else.
