Our 19th-century barn has been meticulously renovated and restored to its original glory… with a few added bells and whistles. We offer air-conditioning, heating, and a 4-foot disco ball, among other modern amenities. The property is a hidden gem set amidst 34 acres of breathtaking grounds with open meadows, forests, winding nature trails, and gardens, offering an idyllic backdrop for events of up to 200 guests. We specialize in creating unforgettable celebrations filled with heart. An Authentic 1891 Barn, Restored with Modern Amenities.
The barn offers an intimate environment, accommodating dinner seating for 80 (with multiple options on the grounds to place tents for larger group dinners), and standing room for up to 175 guests for dancing and cocktails. The mezzanine-level hayloft has been converted to a cozy lounge with a vintage cigar-bar vibe: leather club seating, Persian rugs, a gallery wall and photo booth make this hidden speakeasy-style nook a fun surprise for your event!

Beautiful Venue Run by Beautiful People
Where do we even begin! Choosing Black Walnut Farm as our venue was easily the best decision we made during the wild ride that is wedding planning. I knew from our first visit with Sarah (one of the fabulous venue owners) that it was the right fit, and my husband was totally game, but even he admits it didn't solidify for him until the weekend was here. This is because the team at BWF takes your wildest dreams and makes them come true - we blinked and it all came together so smoothly, we wouldn't have changed a thing! We had so many guests telling us this was the best wedding they had ever been to, and while we feel honored, Black Walnut Farm gets all the flowers for that sentiment. One of the main reasons we chose BWF in the first place is because they truly provide VALUE. So many other venues will offer you a gorgeous property and then charge you up the wazoo for "add-ons" and other "must-haves" that rack up the wedding bill before you even have your guest list together. BWF gives you an unbelievably special setting for your wedding weekend - plus, gorgeous rustic farm tables, all the chairs you need for your ceremony and reception, an incredible "Something Borrowed" collection exclusive to wedding couples where you can source all of your decorations and not have to spend an extra dime, a photo booth, a super cool audio guestbook (they have a real telephone booth!), popcorn machine, bonfire with s'mores setup, a beautiful welcome package if you choose to book the weekend and stay at the farmhouse (which I highly recommend; we were snacking on our welcome charcuterie and veggie board all weekend- shoutout Ariel!), a special mixology session for your signature drinks, and so much more. The financial aspect of weddings is terrifying, we know this all too well. Choosing BWF helped us sleep better knowing we were getting the most bang for our buck, and then some! And now for the BWF team -- we cannot express enough how amazing this team is. They became family, and though we didn't expect that, we wouldn't have it any other way. Sarah & Jim are the most thoughtful, intelligent, and fun venue owners, they truly go the extra mile to provide as much value as possible to couples and their guests; all of our guests and vendors were blown away and kept coming up to Sarah & Jim to let them know! From start to finish, they support you the entire way and bring such warmth to this entire process, it makes wedding planning less stressful and more fun when you work with such beautiful people. We hired Lindsey as our month-of coordinator, and we genuinely could not have done this without her. Lindsey is a special human being with a mind that can hold and organize so many tiny details all at once - and she still manages to joke around and have fun! She is our wedding angel, our right hand girl, our dear friend, she was everything to us for the time leading up to the wedding and the weekend of, and holds a special place in our hearts from here on out. We cannot thank her enough for everything she did for us and the energy she brought to this experience. The entire BWF staff echoes these qualities - John, Ariel, Justin, Lish, and everyone else involved in the setup/breakdown and flow of the weekend. These are not just your everyday staff members; these are special, creative, and hardworking people who have our gratitude always. BIG LOVE to our BWF family, we're the lucky ones!

If anyone were to ask me what my favorite part of my wedding was I’d have to say “Black Walnut Farm!” What a remarkable experience it has been to work with Sarah, Jim, Lish, Lindsey, and of course, Miss Lilly! My partner and I didn’t even bother viewing another venue because we could instantly feel how special the BWF property was — we called 30 minutes after our tour and said we were ready for the contract and deposit. Even still Black Walnut Farm far exceeded our expectations! Everything about this venue is so thoughtfully curated and managed. There is just so much care and consideration that has gone into every inch of this very special place! My partner and I decided to have a “honeymoon” week during the week of the wedding; we chose to have the extended package where we stayed on the property just the two of us. Unwinding in front of the fireplace while playing chess and drinking wine was such a lovely way to relax the night before. The sunroom is the perfect place for getting ready the morning of the wedding! After our wedding (in lieu of an after party) we just asked to have the hot tub ready for us, which was the best move ever! Most importantly, the BWF team were so kind and patient, cool and collected. In the face of some extreme family drama and chaotic spring weather they always rolled with the punches. I felt that I could trust them fully and always felt safe and cared for. I was not afraid to defer to their expertise in the midst of the chaos, and I do not regret any of those decisions! In fact, the backup rain plan ended up being better than the original plan! Thank you again, Black Walnut Farm. You have created something so very, very special and we will be eternally grateful!
Greatest Wedding Venue Ever
We recently had our wedding at The Barn at Black Walnut Farm, and it was extraordinary. From the moment we first toured the venue, we knew it was the perfect place for us. Jim and Sarah have poured so much heart and craftsmanship into restoring this historic barn, preserving its rustic charm while modernizing it in all the right places. The property itself is breathtaking, with thoughtfully designed spaces that make you feel completely immersed in nature. The rose garden and front yard provided great photo opportunities, not just for us but for all our guests. Our ceremony in the forest site was an absolute dream. The setting created a truly magical, intimate atmosphere. It was the most picturesque backdrop for such a meaningful moment, and we can’t imagine having said our vows anywhere else. The true gem of the property, however, is the historic house. Staying in this house was an unforgettable experience, and my family is already looking forward to returning for years to come. The Barn at Black Walnut Farm is more than just a venue—it’s an experience and a place where memories are made. Jim and Sarah are not just venue owners; they are passionate, thoughtful hosts who truly care about every couple’s special day. We feel so honored to have celebrated our wedding here and cannot recommend it highly enough.
