We offer air-conditioning, heating, and a 4-foot disco ball, among other modern amenities. The property is a hidden gem set amidst 34 acres of breathtaking grounds with open meadows, forests, winding nature trails, and gardens, offering an idyllic backdrop for events of up to 200 guests. We specialize in creating unforgettable celebrations filled with heart. Work with our catering team or bring in your own-- we allow you to customize every detail of your day! Overnight accommodations for 8-10 are included in our premium long-weekend packages, along with a suite of amenities for a resort-style feel.

The BEST of the Best!
We're not honestly sure where to begin with how over-the-moon ecstatic and thrilled we were to have our wedding at Black Walnut Farm. Let us start by saying that Jim & Sarah are the most amazing venue managers/people you will ever meet. Anything we needed help with, any questions we had, any concerns we wanted addressed, they handled them quickly and respectfully. Our original venue lost their permits and canceled on us 4 months before our wedding. To say we were stressed is an understatement. Somehow, through some magic of the universe, we found BWF. It was even better than our original place, and had everything we wanted. We found out they were brand new and didn't exist yet when we were looking. So, it was truly a blessing in disguise. Both Sarah & Jim jumped to help us gather our thoughts, our stresses and our ideas to bring our dream day back to life. Black Walnut Farm is an absolutely gorgeous wedding venue (especially if you're looking for a fall wedding, as we did). Our dream wedding was always "vintage fairytale" and it provided that vibe to a T, with versatility for other themes as well. From the rustic cottage (that turned out to basically be our dream home); to the barn itself with its farm-style picnic tables and mismatched chairs (a dream of the bride's); to the grounds - everything is meticulously cared for. All the decor is designed beautifully and artistically by the two of them with each item being picked for specific reasons. Plus, you get Miss Lily, the Pro-purr-ty Manager, as an honorary wedding guest, so that was an excellent plus. Seriously though, if you're looking for a wedding venue in the area and you want a place where the managers are willing to go above and beyond and ensure your perfect day is exactly that; we honestly believe that you can not find a better option than Black Walnut Farm. All of our guests can't stop raving about how perfect it was and how beautiful everything turned out to be. We can't wait to come back and visit for an anniversary down the road so that we can relive the most perfect day in our relationship thanks to Jim & Sarah and their attention to detail. We could write a novel on our love and appreciation for BWF. We joke that they are our fairy godparents but they are so much more than that. They are magic-makers, loving friends, and truly own something special. Do NOT hesitate on Black Walnut Farm.
Our Dream Vintage Farm Wedding Venue
Black Walnut Farm is far more than just a "wedding venue." It is an immersive farm fantasy! From the moment you set foot on the grounds, you will be swept off your feet. The lush green woods, the picturesque farmhouse, and of course, the barn, are just a few of the special offerings here! The style and decor in the house is the definition of tasteful, antique-chic. It is truly perfection! Just a few steps away is the historic barn which has been masterfully transformed into the perfect complementary event space to the house, filled with tasteful charm and whimsy. We got engaged on the farm last July and when we found out we could get married in this special place, we jumped at the opportunity! Jim and Sarah, the farm owners, have been so helpful and communicative throughout the entire planning process and we feel confident that it's going to go incredibly smoothly and, of course, be completely stunning. I guarantee that Black Walnut Farm will blow. you. away. I cannot WAIT to celebrate life with my love in this historic and beautiful place!
Whimsical rustic elegance
The Black Walnut Farm is truly a magical place, made more magical by its exceptional owners. Jim and Sarah have created such a unique and enchanting venue, with so many details, discoveries and its provided such an incredible venue for our wedding. Gorgeous open land and many wonderful areas for different scenes. Could not be happier to have our day in this oasis.
Catskills Barn Venue with Character
My first time touring the Barn at Black Walnut Farm I moved along very slowly. Everywhere I looked I found an interesting antique treasure that caught my eye! The barn and house provide so many unique areas to take photos. One of my favorite spots is the lounge which sits on the balcony in the barn; you can overlook the dance floor, get a close-up look of the 4 foot wide disco ball, and feel like you've been transported back in time! The property also has plenty of space for wandering, an outdoor ceremony, relaxing during the reception, yard games, and heck, a perfect place for your guests to pitch a tent and stay the night! In less than half an hour you could be hiking in the Catskill Mountains or stopping by Kaaterskill Falls for some epic waterfall photos (highly recommend)!!
