Emma Melin Studios
Rating: 5.0 (56 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $8,000

I am a queer, New York City-based photographer documenting candid joy and human connection. Drawn to emotion and the beauty in everyday moments, I approach my work with mindfulness and intuition – balancing gentle guidance with an observational presence. What I value most about my job is the ability to connect with people and witness their stories unfold in raw, vulnerable ways. I hope that my work is a reflection of these moments: honest, emotive, and intentionally seen.

Awarded Best of Zola
Emma was awesome to work with. Communicating with her from the beginning of the process was super clear, prompt, and professional. She was easy to talk to and has a casual style that I appreciate, while still guiding us through the process and making sure we were on track with scheduling, deciding on details for the day, etc. Of all of our vendors, she was by far the most organized. The quality of her work is simply gorgeous and she managed to make us look much cooler than we really are! She captured all the candid moments we had hoped for, and we were amazed at how quickly she got through our posed photos so we could just enjoy the rest of our wedding day. My dad even commented, "Wow, I don't know when you guys had time to get all of these!" after seeing the gallery. We also had a laundry list of family/wedding party pairings and we got through them all promptly after the ceremony, without a ton of fuss, which is exactly as we'd requested. She pulled us aside after dinner when the sun was at the perfect height to get a few more photos, and they're some of my favorites despite only taking us away from the party for about 5 minutes. The preview gallery came SO fast (I believe it was within a day or two) and the pics were just amazing. She was so accommodating of anything we wanted to do, and also had suggestions whenever we weren't sure what we wanted. I also requested to get a couple photos before our final gallery was done so that my mom could use them for Christmas cards and she was so accommodating of that request and sent them right away. We had a great experience and are so happy with our final gallery. Thanks, Emma!!

Sandy SooHoo Photography
Rating: 5.0 (21 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $6,000

With over ten years of experience shooting weddings in and around New York City, Sandy brings her eye for storytelling to each event she shoots, searching for genuine emotion and candid moments that capture every couple in a timeless way. Published in Brides, New York Weddings and Brooklyn Bride, Sandy's work walks the line between fine art and documentary photography, allowing each day to unfold naturally and be remembered artfully for decades to come.

Awarded Best of Zola
We're so happy we chose Sandy to photograph our wedding. She captures emotion beautifully, and her pictures feel like true works of art. I struggled to find a photographer I loved — I think a lot of wedding photography can look cheesy, posed and stuffy — but when I saw Sandy's work, I was obsessed. Not only does her style have a natural, laidback sensibility, but it captures nature beautifully. Our wedding in a scenic spot in upstate NY, and her photos truly do the landscape justice. I loved that she shoots with both digital and color/black-and-white film. We got a great range of photos that captured the elegant-yet-relaxed vibe we were going for. She's also such an easygoing and sweet person, and it was a joy to have her by our sides all day. We highly recommend her!

Agne Sopyte Photography
Rating: 5.0 (11 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $2,200

Hi, I am Agne and this is Brian. Close friends call us team BRAGNE. This name came so naturally because we work together on most of our photography projects, weddings and events. I am happy to have Brian working with me as a second photographer or videographer. What can be better than working with someone you know the best? So meet team BRAGNE!

Awarded Best of Zola
My wife and I could not have had a better experience with Agne and Brian. Their professionalism and flexibility through a rather fluid and nontraditional wedding was refreshing and reassuring. One of the few things we were not worried about was the photography and videography. They provided enough direction to make sure we walked away with the pictures and video we wanted. And the video they made? We're sending it to everyone who we tell about the wedding. If you need a photographer and videographer for your wedding and you're lucky enough to find this post, look no further.

Blythe Thomas
Rating: 5.0 (10 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $1,500

Hi! I'm Blythe. I've worked primarily as a music video director and photographer for over 10 years. Along the way, I've taken photos of couples and loved ones during some of their most special moments - proposals, weddings, engagements, elopements, births. I truly find it to be such an honor and joy getting to capture timeless images with wonderful people.

Awarded Best of Zola
Where do we even start? Not only was Blythe a creative genius, but she kept us both calm, cool, and collected the entire event. From our first look to the cake cutting, Blythe was there with helpful guidance and a keen eye for snapping beautiful candids. During our time together we had quickly developed a rapport with her, that even during moments of panic with other vendors and family members, Blythe was there advocating for our needs. To have a Queer photographer shoot us (a Queer couple) felt amazing, she was able to capture our joy and love and liberation throughout the entire day. I would recommend Blythe 1000000 times over. Truly an amazing photographer and creative. The photos themselves are stunning, friends that we've shown our sneak peaks to have remarked how "this could be on the cover of vogue" and "your photographer was so good! These (photos) are so cool looking". {Zola only allows you to share small file photos- so sadly we can't upload her stunning photography skills-just screenshots}

Brindamour Studios

Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $8,000

I'm originally from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania but I've lived all over the country and have finally landed in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. My personal hobbies include rock climbing, learning French, fine-tuning my espresso skills, and drinking the best wine I can get my hands on (yes, if you're getting married at a winery, I'm interested!). I've been photographing weddings since 2009 (that's 15 years!) and I'm still not even the least bit bored. Hell, I still cry at weddings on a regular basis. Staying emotional and in the moment is what allows me to capture the moments that matter most to my couples.

Awarded Best of Zola
Rima just gets it! She captured all the moments, talked us through the awkwardness of posing and my wedding photos feel so genuine, no harsh or dramatic filters. Even at the same venues and locations, she doesn’t take the same photos. She’s incredibly creative and quickly got a feel for my style and the moments I wanted to capture. Rima was an absolute pleasure to work with, she was great with our wedding guests and I had such a wonderful experience that I jumped at the opportunity to work with her again - at my company’s holiday party!

Cam Whaley Photography
Rating: 5.0 (7 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $4,500

I’m Cameron, a husband and photographer who got my start in commercial and fashion work before falling in love with weddings while planning my own. I focus on editorial-style weddings, with a special love for candid, unscripted moments; the jokes from the speeches, the look of joy on relatives face, the tearing up during the ceremony. All these things that make each day unforgettable. The moments I cherish from my own wedding are the ones I aim to capture for my clients, so you can relive them for years to come.

If you want a photographer who just gets it and shows real joy about capturing your day, Cam is your person! He is the easiest to communicate with and was a pleasure to work with. We had guests coming up to us all night complementing Cam, from how hard working he is to how friendly he is. Truly felt like Cam was an invited guest. He knew our vision and executed it perfectly! Great mix between guided pictures and in the moment shots. I couldn’t be happier!

Elijah Edwards Photography
Rating: 5.0 (7 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style

I quit my full-time job five years ago to pursue my favorite thing in the world: photography. I haven't looked backed since. Delivering high-quality, intimate photos is my passion. Seeing the look on people's faces when they know a special moment has been captured drives me. I am based in Brooklyn, NY, but open to travel. I have photographed over ten weddings and engagements from Paris to New York. I currently have my project, Friends of the Program, showing at The IW Gallery in Brooklyn, New York.

We flew Elijah from NYC to shoot our big wedding in Paris on the basis of his exceptional portfolio and easy-going personality. Elijah has an amazing talent for capturing intimate moments. He makes his subjects feel at ease and like themselves. This is partly facilitated by the helpful prep calls he held with us before the wedding to get a sense of what we wanted. He is also invincible—he has an incredible energy which powered him through our afternoon ceremony through to late-night dancing. Cannot recommend more highly.

Chaz Cruz Photographers
Rating: 5.0 (6 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style

Chaz Cruz specializes in editorial portraiture and weddings. His style and humor brings out unique characteristics in his subjects which turn the photograph into something unique. Always looking at new ways to use found and created light, he enjoys producing new photographs that otherwise would not be encountered.

Awarded Best of Zola
Chaz is more than just a photographer--he helped my husband with his pocket square, he was attentive and grabbed my purse whenever I needed, he was calm when giving updates on delays, he was a visionary, a comfort, and a professional. His energy is warm, uplifting, and enthusiastic. His work is detail orientated and full of spirit. From our first interview with him to the days following the wedding, he was communicative and caring. I'll never forget the moment of seeing Chaz take photographs of the windy trees during our rehearsal dinner (right before it started pouring rain-the most epic adventure!!) and thinking, "I'm so glad Chaz is here." From the unexpected to the beautiful, I knew he would capture the authenticity of every moment and gosh did he deliver. His work speaks for itself in its aliveness but to experience first hand what it's like to be in front of his lens is truly something special. I felt completely at ease and I know our family and friends did too. What we've seen so far has moved us to tears--he captured our love. The Sunday after our wedding, our friend said to us, "you don't need your wedding photographer to be someone you want to be friends with, but it's pretty cool when it happens." It absolutely is.

Liesl NYC
Rating: 4.8 (6 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $2,500

Hi! I’m Liesl, founder of Liesl nyc. I started my career at an old time photo tourist trap in South Dakota and came to the big city to be a fashion photographer (with a few stops along the way.) Though I found a love for portraits and weddings and made that my focus, I’ve kept the editorial aesthetic. Though I’ve lived in Brooklyn for 15 years I’ve kept the South Dakota demeanor. A calm and comfortable presence helps a lot when you’re not used to being followed around by a photographer. Getting great pictures shouldn’t be intimidating. It’ll be way more fun than you think

Liesl exceeded our expectations. We had her for both our engagement photos and wedding and she just has an eye for making you look the best, and not overly posed. She was a blast to have around, super personable, made us comfortable in front of the camera, picked the perfect ways to capture our special day, and overall kept us on track throughout the day. We were so happy with working with her, and everyone at the event has commented on how on point she was throughout the event, especially working alongside a videographer & content creator. After getting a batch of photos THREE Days after the wedding, we could not be more pleased! The turnaround on the edited photos was unreal, and exactly matched our desired look. We loved the way she captured us, our energy and the way that we interacted with each other throughout the day. Liesl really caught "us" in the pictures and we'll cherish these photos forever 3

I cannot say enough amazing things about Blissfulstills Photography! From the moment we booked them for both photo and video for our wedding, I knew we were in good hands. Noble and Stevenson, our photographers, were absolute pros. My husband and I are terrible at posing, but they made us look like naturals in every single shot! They guided us through the entire process, making it fun and effortless, and the results were beyond stunning. But the real jaw-dropper? Carl, our videographer, crafted a wedding video that looks like an epic movie! Every moment is captured with such cinematic flair—it’s a masterpiece. Even a year later, I’m still in awe every time I watch it. The way they captured our day is something we’ll treasure forever. I recently found out that they don’t only just do weddings! I’m already planning to book them for every special event in our lives. Love you guys!

I’m guilty of romantizing my life, from my morning coffee in the kitchen to the walk to the fancy grocery store that’s out of the way. It's how I like to look at life. I take notice and enjoy the small mundane things. It's the same philosophy I apply to photography. It lets me capture and romantize all the moments that go unnoticed but worth remembering.

Yvonne captured our destination wedding in Jamaica beautifully. She has great positive energy that put us at ease, and didn't miss a beat from Friday morning to late into Saturday night. Somehow she managed to capture every angle of our event with 80 guests. While she was seemingly everywhere, she was never obtrusive or overbearing. Echoes and Wild Hearts work speaks for itself. If you love the vibe of their portfolio (which we did), you will not be disappointed. Go for it! We found EAWH through Wedding Artists Co on Instagram, initially looking for videographer as we were already very close to booking another photographer. However, once we got on the phone with Liron, we went all in on EAWH to streamline planning and keep things looking consistent. We wanted a very non-wedding, wedding photographer/videographer who would capture the feeling of our day. I feel awkward in front of the camera and cringed at the idea of pose-y photos, Liron and his second shooter captured everything better than we could have imagined and put us totally at ease. We got married in the Catskills and it was 100 degrees and full humidity on our day and somehow everyone looks lovely in the photos when in reality we were melting... Liron is truly a photo wizard. He also shot our welcome party the night before and our afterparty- all fantastic! From the initial phone calls and emailing about logistics during planning, to seamlessly blending in with us on site and making us feel totally comfortable and like our best selves, to photo/video delivery post event, it was a total pleasure working with EAWH at every step! Perhaps even more importantly, I truly feel the work EAWH delivered to us are some of the best wedding photos and video I've ever seen. We love Liron!
