Documentary-Style is the way to go!
If you’re debating between documentary-style photography and a more traditional approach, go with documentary and more importantly, hire Kayla and Zoey. These two are true artists with an incredible eye for detail. They photographed both our engagement and wedding, and their creative vision blew us away. We’re big film lovers, so when we saw their work on Instagram, including Super 8/16mm film, 35mm, and Polaroid, we instantly knew we had to book them, even though our wedding was nearly two years out. From our first meeting for the engagement shoot, Kayla and Zoey made us feel completely at ease. By the time our wedding day came around, it felt like we had invited two friends to capture our day. They brought so much energy and were fully present to capture every detail, big and small. Our only initial hesitation was that they don’t use shot lists. But in all honesty, you don’t need one when your photographers have such a strong instinct for capturing genuine moments and meaningful connections. We still got our family photos since we had some adamant family members, but the photos we’ll cherish forever were the candid ones: the laughter, the tears, and all the little in-between moments that made our day special. If their stunning work on their website and Instagram hasn’t convinced you yet, their delivery SPEED will. We received a generous sneak peek within 24 hours, tons of film and video deliverables within the week, and the full gallery of nearly 2,000 digital and film photos and videos WITH RAWs just two weeks after the wedding (we were only promised at least 800). We didn’t even get over our wedding high yet and they delivered the entire day’s worth of memories for us to re-live it all and feel that rush again! We could go on and on about how amazing they are. Kayla and Zoey, we hope you continue to have a passion for what you do because you guys truly have a gift. If you're lucky enough to work with them, you’ll understand exactly what we mean. From one Zola Bride to another- BOOK
As a Zola bride I know how tough it is to find just the right photographer. We actually booked with another vendor and ended up canceling before finding our way to Storyteller Co. Photo + Video. I'm so glad we did because the team was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. Kayla and her husband were super responsive and answered all of my questions (some times twice #weddingbrain). If you're looking for a duo team who makes you feel heard this is the team for you! Storyteller Co. Photo + Video arrived the day of and got right to work, and were super respectful of my giant family. The best part is how quickly we got the photos back. We had several back within twenty-four hours and all of them back within a week. The vintage inspired classic vibe sold me and I cannot recommend them enough.
