My name is Kathy Ray and we hired this wedding planning company for our wedding. I never really give reviews but I just couldn't go without giving them the shout out that they deserve. They did everything for me and even things I thought I would have to do. The minister messed up my marriage licenses and they were able to jump in and handle this. The wifi went out during out ceremony and they jumped in with backup hotspot and everything was fixed. I think i have high anxiety about everything but they honestly babied me and made me feel so much relief lol!! I just didn;t hire a company but they all became my new besties! Thank you Cece, Alex, Ariel, Nikole and the rest of the team. I recommend to all!

Heidi and Tristen are the most wonderful, creative, and kind people and they make delicious drinks to boot! After finding Black Orchid on our wedding planner's vendor shortlist, I am so, so happy we chose Black Orchid for our wedding. Even before we signed a contract, Heidi was so helpful in sharing experience and industry knowledge - my partner has worked in the restaurant industry and has been an amateur cocktail connoisseur since COVID times, and he felt so comfortable in their first meeting that we booked them immediately. Heidi was enthusiastic about planning our signature cocktails alongside us - even making a black walnut syrup from her own tree to use in our old-fashioned AND juicing carrots for my gin cocktail!! Helene hit a month before our scheduled wedding date, and (second to our venue - s/o Twisty Maple!!) Black Orchid was the vendor we knew we couldn't move forward without. Luckily, after communication was re-established, Heidi was flexible and we worked with her to reschedule. Once our second date got closer, my partner and I visited WNC to get back into the wedding spirit and Heidi and Tristen *came to our AirBnB* to sample our signature cocktails. They became fast friends and we chatted for hours! On our wedding day, it felt so special to have both Tristen and Heidi (as well as their staff) working our event. Professional and poised, they brought the perfect calm energy that we wanted to our small and personal celebration. I highly recommend reaching out to Black Orchid for your event. TL;DR: If you're questioning a wedding planner. You found your person in Shelby. She will be your teammate and advocate. Let me start by saying 5 stars is not enough for Shelby. What she was able to do over the course of a few months and the day of our wedding, and even after, is no short than a miracle. My aunt said it best, "She was just meant to do this job", and it shines through every conversation, detail, and edge she was able to walk me back from. I contacted Shelby originally for a month of coordinator. Soon after, I realized even for a type A project manager, I was in over my head planning an Alabama wedding from Philadelphia, PA. She walked me through everything and that's when I said I need her on my team and I need her skills now for everything between today and the wedding day. The best decision I made through the process (debatably even more so than saying yes to my husband) was hiring Shelby. She made the transition from what I prepped and thought I had under control to the most magical day I could imagine. I hired her about 5 months before the wedding. She always made me a priority no matter the occasion or time. I genuinely had the best wedding planner and gained a friend along the way. I am not exaggerating when I say, I could not have done this without her.

I have received over 1,000 images/videos in content, and still have even more coming! What’s crazy is half the time, we didn’t notice Katelyn there, but she still somehow captured every moment! I love that she wasn’t in our faces or constantly bothering us for photos/videos. This way, we were able to enjoy every aspect of our day! Katelyn truly embodied what being “behind the scenes” means! She was also always there when someone did want to ask for a photo, and always obliged, even when my mom was constantly asking her LOL. We got our raw footage back within 48 hours, and most of it after less than 24 hours. We are so grateful for Katelyn capturing all of our special moments!

Working with Bre was easily one of the best vendor choices we made while wedding planning. Our wedding ceremony became a kind of “pop-up” style event and Bre rolled with every decision and last minute detail we threw at her. With her day-of coordination package, we were able to have 2 pre wedding meetings and a rehearsal the day before. I went into the rehearsal feeling nervous about how things would go and left feeling so reassured and excited! The day of the wedding Bre checked in with me and made sure things were running smoothly. I felt so calm and confident walking up to the venue knowing Bre was in charge and bringing our vision to life! The whole day went beautifully and I know it’s because Bre was working her magic behind the scenes. As an event planner and type A personality it was hard to turn something over to someone when you have a vision in your head of what it should look like Those fears and that anxiety were put to rest as soon as I met Courtney and her team. Her month, week and day of coordination went off without a hitch. There were hiccups as with all weddings but I never even knew about them. Her team knew what I needed before I ever even said anything. I cant recommend Combe & Co to enough people.

We decided to use Haley Grace Events Co. for our Month of and Day of Coordination. Haley allowed us to call her and ask questions before we had even signed the contract. She was always extremely kind, professional, and organized during all communication - email, phone, text, in-person. She started to work with us 45 days before the Wedding to understand our vision, vendors, and what was left still to do. She went above and beyond her duties to make the lead up to our big day her priority! On the day of the wedding, Haley was on top of everything. She had 2 assistants and the 3 of them moved around like a ghost army!! They took care of setting everything up for us so me and my family could fully enjoy the day. They made my vision come to life more than I could have ever expressed! Haley would check in with me and my husband every step of the day, did a day-of rehearsal, and kept the day as soon as possible! I truly don't think our wedding day would have been what it was without her (and her team)! Haley and her team deserve to be in your wedding budget! My name is Makenzie, a North Carolina native and UNC–Chapel Hill graduate with a love for creativity, organization, and meaningful moments. Wedding planning felt like a natural calling once I realized I could combine my love for celebrations with my knack for lists, spreadsheets, and problem-solving. I approach each couple like a trusted friend, creating a calm, supportive planning experience so you can truly enjoy your engagement and wedding day.

We had an amazing experience with Carolina Event Masters. We had Kenzie as our coordinator as well as two amazing assistants. We had a 7-month engagement and got married December 20, 2025 for a wedding in Henderson, NC with about 100 people in attendance. We found CEM through a NC brides Facebook page when we posted looking for day-of coordinators. CEM had several options for what level of support we needed and we went with the middle option - it comprised, in brief, day-of coordination and running the rehearsal, assistance finding a few vendors, and several planning meetings. The level of service we received was what I'd expect from a planner more than a coordinator. CEM wasn't there to show up the day-of and motion to the piano to start playing. They coordinated in advance every moment of the day to make sure it went smoothly and was exactly what we wanted. Not only did they get the contact info of all the vendors for emergencies, but they confirmed every policy and communicated with them in advance to make sure they knew what to expect. They toured the church and reception venue to make sure they were familiar with the spaces. Not only did they helped with what we asked about, but they asked questions to help us avoid making last-minute decisions or missing things that were important to us that we hadn't thought about. For ex., they asked about what we wanted to happen with the flowers after the reception. They also gave us advice based on their experience. For ex., recommending we list the table assignments by last name. The rehearsal was very professional and pleasant - they were very prompt and made sure to go through everything thoroughly. The day of the wedding they split up between church/reception venue. EVERYTHING was either on-time or early all day. They went above and beyond to help set up the reception - something we definitely didn't expect from a coordinator. Our reception venue had staff that set the tables etc., and we had a florist, but CEM reviewed everything, made sure the placecards/kids bags/high chiars were in the right place down to the chair, etc. They also were familiar with the type of photobooth we rented and they set it up entirely for us. All this set up and more was just way beyond what we expected and extremely helpful. We could tell they were invested in making everything beautiful and perfect. Sarah also took several beautiful photos for us - a complete surprise and very special treat. One of our favorite photos from the night was one she took of our first dance. This also gave us a sneak peak into what the reception looked like before anyone had arrived! (All attached photos are from her). We had an issue with our seating chart and they saved the day - long story short it was going to be delivered AFTER the wedding and we thought we were out of luck. I mentioned the issue to Kenzie and when I arrived from the church after the ceremony I saw the seating chart in the doorway before our entry! She had ordered it, picked it up, and set it up for us. I don't know how she did it, but she did, and it was so thoughtful and touching that she would put in that extra effort on top of everything they had on their plates. I could go on and on but I hope this reflects just some of what CEM did for our wedding and how thrilled we were with them. They are a lovely group of people. If we HAD to cut any cost or change any vendor, they would be last on the list. It was perfect.
