Since 2019, we have been planning & managing unforgettable, inclusive, and eco-conscious weddings that feel true to each couple’s story and values. Led by Dr. Katie Sautter, our team blends warmth, humor, and meticulous organization to make planning feel calm, clear, and genuinely fun. We handle every detail with intention and care, so you can feel fully present and joyful on your wedding day, and celebrate in a way that’s unmistakably you. We are diverse! We have 6 lead planners on our team, two of which are bilingual: one speaks fluent Spanish; another speaks fluent Slovak & can understand spoken Russian.

We believe your wedding should feel unmistakably you: intentional, personal, and true to your story. We’re proudly LGBTQIA+ friendly, sustainability-minded, and built on collaboration, not just coordination. Unlike solopreneurs juggling every hat, our dedicated team focuses solely on you, offering clarity, warmth, and unwavering support. We handle everything—from the seating chart design & card box, to eco-friendly touches, vendor coordination, and stress-free management of your wedding website, RSVPs, and hotel blocks—so you can relax and enjoy every moment of your engagement and wedding day.

For couples who love Earth and all its colors, our partial planning package offers a perfect blend of guidance for your unique needs. We help you design a vibrant, eco-conscious wedding that reflects your personality while handling logistics, vendor coordination, and hotel blocks. You’ll enjoy the planning journey without the stress, knowing that every detail is managed with care so your day shines as brightly as your love.

Note: $1,320 for partial event management, $1,730 for full wedding management. Our Wedding Management packages are ideal for couples who've planned their dream wedding but need an expert to ensure everything runs smoothly. We step in a month before your big day to coordinate vendors, finalize details, and manage the timeline.     The best!

    Natalia was our month of coordinator for our wedding in June and we were so pleased with her ! She was patient & so helpful ! Always quick to respond & professional! We are so happy that K.S Otters was a part of our wedding! Natalia, even took the time to take a few photos which is so meaningful.

    Outstanding Coordinator

    Working with K.S.Otter Events and our lead coordinator Rebecca was exactly what we needed for our wedding day. Rebecca understood what we wanted and listened carefully to every detail we shared with her, making us feel heard throughout the entire process. She stayed organized and on top of everything, which was perfect because I'm someone who likes things done a certain way. The day itself ran smoothly and predictably—everything happened exactly when it was supposed to, and we didn't have to worry about a thing. Rebecca's personable approach made planning feel less stressful and more like working with a friend who genuinely cared about our celebration. We would absolutely recommend K.S.Otter Events to any couple looking for a planner who is both professional and easy to work with.

    A wedding DJ's Dream!

    As a wedding DJ and production company, we work with many coordinators, but Natalia from K S Otter Events is truly elite. We recently partnered with her for Evelin and Jarrett’s wedding at the Durham Arts Council, and she made our job incredibly easy. Her attention to detail is top-tier. Before the event, she provided layout diagrams that were so precise and detailed there was absolutely zero confusion about where we needed to set up. On the wedding day, her communication was perfect. Even with the logistics of managing different rooms for the cocktail hour, dinner, and reception, everything flowed seamlessly. She kept the timeline completely on track, eliminating any second-guessing on our end. If you want a coordinator who is highly organized, proactive, and amazing to collaborate with, we highly recommend Natalia!

    Flawless execution from start to finish

    From the very beginning, our experience was exceptional. Throughout the planning process, we worked with multiple planners, and every transition was completely seamless. Each member of the team was attentive, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our wedding day special. As two former military professionals now working in highly technical fields, my husband and I have exceptionally high standards for organization, communication, attention to detail, and punctuality. Natalia exceeded those expectations in every way. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was executed flawlessly. Every detail was thoughtfully managed, timelines ran smoothly, and any potential stress was handled before it ever reached us. Our wedding day was beautiful, seamless, and virtually stress-free because of her dedication and professionalism. We are incredibly grateful for Natalia and the entire team’s hard work and would wholeheartedly recommend them to any couple looking for a planner they can trust completely. The greatest compliment we can give is that we were able to be fully present on our wedding day because we knew everything was in capable hands.

    Natalia at K.S. Otter

    Natalia was our month-of coordinator and she did SUCH a great job! A couple weeks before our 1-month mark, she took over all of the coordination, which took a lot of stress off of our plate. She was super communicative and reassuring while we were panicking about potential inclement weather. She also did an amazing job setting up our tables and decor, and was so on top of things the whole time.

Starting January 12th, 2025, we will not charge travel fees, with the exception of flights. Instead, any travel expenses related distant weddings will be calculated and baked into the cost. Until then: Yes, if the distance is >1.5 hour drive from K.S.Otter Events' location (ZIP: 27265), or if we're required to stay beyond 11:30 pm for drives >45 min from K.S.Otter Events' location. Outside of these bounds, we require flight/hotel coverage (for the planner and assistant(s)), plus a $200 travel fee to cover other travel expenses. Some of this is waived for the Wilmington, NC area (inquire for more info).
We'd sit down and go through your priorities and budget for the event. We'd come up with a suitable budget based on your priorities, and we'd then come up with some action items to accomplish over the next month. Nothing too hard for you, of course! We try to only give our couples the FUN tasks (like picking out a suit or dress!)!
Absolutely! Allyship is one of our core values: so much so that we never work with any vendor who isn't LGBT-friendly. We screen every vendor for this before putting them on our trusted vendors list. We've also received training from The Gay Agenda Collective and strive to make all our couples feel comfortable, regardless of which part of the rainbow they are a part of! We are also part of the Safe Space Alliance, which provides safe spaces to LGBTQIA+ people. Our space is "digital" until your wedding day!
Maybe! It depends on your location and situation. We love meeting in-person with our planning couples for the first planning consultation as well as the final venue walkthrough. We are also happy to meet with you virtually. Our full-service planning clients are allotted more time (especially for venue tours and tastings), so we can meet more often for that package. All conversations prior to booking with us are virtual / over the phone.
Although we have a list of trusted vendors, as well as a list of absolutely amazing preferred vendors (who we have exclusive deals with!), we are always hoping to get to know new and awesome vendors who are perfect for your wedding! We help you find them, no issues or concerns whatsoever.
We are licensed through the NC Dept of Revenue (you can find our business name registered with the NC Secretary of State as K.S.Otter Events), & we are insured through NEXT insurance.
Yes! We have certifications through The Union Network (by Jamie Wolfer), The Gay Agenda Collective, and Timeline Genius. Our business is a proud member of the Association of Bridal Consultants, as well as the Certified Wedding Professionals (CWP) Society. These are the largest certification programs in the United States.
We can plan three weddings on the same day, since we currently have a team of 3 lead planners, but this depends on team availability, and we may plan a Friday wedding and a Saturday wedding on the same weekend. Our team is growing, so we can take on more weddings per year than a solopreneur, typically 15-20 weddings per planner per year. That said, we book out fast. It's first come first served, so we recommend inquiring as soon as possible.
Absolutely. In case of emergency, we always have a backup coordinator. This coordinator is always trained and is someone we trust- it's never someone's aunt Susie! Your wedding is in good hands with us.
Not at all! While sustainability is our passion, we welcome all couples and are here to support your vision, whether you’re aiming for an eco-friendly wedding or something else entirely. We’re happy to offer tips for going green, but we’ll tailor everything to suit your unique style. We admit, we don’t usually attract the couples who want to burn a tire as a ceremony ritual (Not kidding- someone said this to us. How silly! If they jest, we jest.)
