“From the start, I had a very specific vision for my wedding day that I planned myself. I was a DIY decor bride, with particular taste. Throughout the wedding planning process, I realized that on the day of my wedding trying to navigate having a separate ceremony and reception location, there was no way I was going to be able to do it all myself. I met with many Massachusetts wedding planners and day of coordinators and absolutely no one is as dedicated to their couples as Shelby. From the time we hired Shelby for “month of” planning support, she was our biggest cheerleader and accountability partner. Shelby never thought we were “too much” and went out of her way to ask detailed questions about what our vision for our big day was. There is no job the day of the wedding that Shelby can’t handle. Because of Shelby, all my vendors had a detailed timeline of what to expect day of and what I wanted from them. When I tell you I didn’t have to make a single phone call or write a single email to a vendor, I mean NOBODY called me to ask questions the week of the wedding. This is because Shelby handles everything and follows up with everyone on your behalf before they could call you. All my vendors loved working with Shelby and appreciated her professionalism and thoroughness. On the day of the wedding, Shelby executed every single piece of my wedding better than I could have imagined. She took care to display everything beautifully, and I received so many compliments about how all the little details came together. “Working with Marissa and her team at MB Events, was by far the best decision my husband and I could have made during our wedding planning process. Marissa truly goes above and beyond for her clients, and her passion for her work is apparent from start to finish. My husband and I chose a venue where every aspect of our wedding needed to be coordinated with third-party vendors (string quartet, DJ, catering (incl. table, chairs, linens), set up, breakdown, etc). When we realized how much we underestimated the time and coordination needed to plan such an important event, we knew we needed help. Enter: MB Events. From the start, Marissa kept my husband and I organized throughout the entire wedding planning process, ensuring our vision for the day came to fruition, and truly made our wedding day better than we had ever expected. We planned an outdoor wedding, and inevitably it was supposed to pour (thunder, lightning, flood, tornado warnings), and Marissa and her team worked from sunup to sundown to ensure that our day was exactly as we had imagined, rain or shine. Marissa was an advocate for my husband and I when difficult day-of -decisions needed to be made in relation to the rain, which allowed us to just “focus and take in the moment” which we are extremely grateful for. With some last minute timeline adjustments by Marissa, we were able to have the outdoor ceremony of our dreams. This would not have happened without the expertise and dedication of Marissa and her team. Multiple times throughout the wedding planning process I told my husband that Marissa seems to be the only vendor we chose that is actually “on our side.” We struggled with the organization and responses of other vendors, especially as the wedding season was in full swing, but Marissa never missed a moment. She was professional, quick to respond, and extremely reliable. I know that there are many options when choosing a wedding planner, but I can honestly say, I believe Marissa and her team to be the best there is. From big to small details - cocktail hour, signature cocktails and menu design to florals, décor, hair and makeup schedules, transportation, seating, themes, clean-up, payment, contracts, vendor coordination, and all the little details you don’t even realize go into a wedding—they thought of everything. CityLux helped us plan our intimate, 30-person, two-day wedding weekend, including our at-home ceremony, a private dinner in Boston, brunch the next morning, and an at-home hibachi celebration. From beginning to end, everything was seamless. They coordinated our vendors, seating, table placement, florals, décor, silverware, timelines, and even last-minute replacements and adjustments. Every vendor worked together, everything was on time, and not a single detail felt out of place. Our planner, Allie, was truly incredible. She went above and beyond at every step—from helping us find our amazing videographer through CityLux and offering beautiful décor recommendations to organizing meetings, managing schedules, and making sure every final detail was taken care of. “We used Sara as the day of coordinator for our wedding at The White Room in Worcester and I cannot say enough good things about her. We began meeting about a month before the big day and had weekly check in's where she made sure that I was on track and getting everything done that needed to be handled. On the day she helped my parents with set up, ensured everyone was where they needed to be and fielded all questions from vendors and guests. The guests raved about the whole experience, and as far as I know literally nothing went wrong, and if it did, Sara handled it like a pro because I never found out!
