“Can’t say enough about our experience from start to finish with the Philly Custom DJ team! We first met with Adam who right away was super friendly and energetic about making sure our DJ experience was how WE envisioned it. He was so personable it felt like we knew him for years. Numerous video calls were held in the early months to make sure we had all of the resources we needed to make playlists and plan our timeline. Scheduling meetings was always super easy through their calendar and Adam’s communication was great & really put us at ease. He was always super responsive if we emailed him questions and was flexible when we had to make changes to our package. The portal was also a HUGE help during the entire planning process. It allowed us to listen to and add songs to custom playlists, create/edit the wedding timeline, pay invoices, assign songs to certain events, etc. The portal really made everything so easy that I can’t imagine not having it while planning. The DJs for our wedding were Alex and Jack. Again, leading up to our wedding there was incredible communication about song selection, our timeline, the venue and everything in between. I mean this as a compliment - there were many times where we didn’t notice the DJ team! By that I mean their setup and take down process and moving across our venue was seamless. Our venue had 3 different locations on-site for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. They were able to seamlessly set up and move between each location without any break in music. At the reception, Alex & Jack kept the music on theme with our vibe but also played to the crowd so that there was always plenty of people up & dancing. If we had a change in plan or wanted to add something, they were fine doing it on the fly. We were having such a good time that we asked to extend for an hour (with payment) and they were totally happy to stay. They were incredibly accommodating! Philly Custom DJ was one of the first DJs we looked at and we knew almost immediately they were the people we needed for our wedding. So glad we had them for entertainment - they definitely contributed to how perfect our day went. Cannot recommend enough!!”

“We liked Edward Zaruba a lot initially because when we talked, he was concise and seemed fun as opposed to some of the other DJs we spoke to. Picking a DJ was hard because unlike a photographer where you can look through their work, you generally go off of price and vibes because you can’t sit through an entire set as your wedding set list is based off yourself. Edward didn’t talk too much and to be transparent, we didn’t want a DJ that would talk more than they played music, so that paired with his price point made him a good fit for us. We had a good experience with him on our wedding day. His system for the outside was simple but worked the way we needed it to. He hid everything behind some of the greenery so that none of the guests could see it and it would not be in view for the pictures. Even though the weather was windy that day, the microphones picked up well on the all of the sound. He set the groom and officiant up with wireless microphones that were nicely hidden. His speaker was loud and clear for everyone to hear. His system for the inside was also great for the space and the included dance lighting added a nice vibe for the night and turned out nice in our photos. Our only (half) complaint was we gave him a must, MUST playlist (about 6 songs), and only a few of them played. We think this can be attributed more so to lack of time to play all the songs we love and of course know even if we could have spent an additional hour dancing, there probably would have been songs we missed. Outside of that, he picked phenomenal music, and he knew how to transition from one song to the next to keep everyone on the dance floor and having fun. We appreciated his ability to introduce our party and us. He spoke the perfect amount and did great with the nights transitions.”

John, the sax player, is the band leader, served as our MC, and made our wedding day run flawlessly despite the weather totally interrupting all of our plans! We didn't have a wedding planner and felt we didn't need one as we were in good hands with John. He helped us design our reception timeline, worked behind the scenes with our venue to make sure food serving times aligned with their sets, and effortlessly incorporated all of our music requests. Us and our guests had an absolute blast, many guests telling us it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to. The dance floor was packed literally the entire night. The band uses medleys of similar genres/songs, so that they are not stuck on one song for too long and the music seems cohesive rather than jumping all over the place. From beginning to end, we had our friends on the dance floor as well as the older guests. Our first dance was At Last, which Marissa sang beautifully, making the moment all the more special. I cannot recommend Goody Blue Shoes enough - they know how to help you throw a party !”

Mama Juke is a gumbo of New Orleans influenced blues, blue-eyed soul, funk, and folk. Actor/singer Elijah Bridges brings elements of bluegrass and rag with his soulful harmonica, acoustic guitar, and voice. Amos Rose is a world traveling multi-instrumentalist who also sings and plays lead Telecaster guitar, and was recently featured by Jazz at Lincoln Center. Brendan O’Grady is an in-demand session musician and fixture on the greater New York scene since his roots growing up in Yonkers. Drummer Jon Wert is a sought-after musician, collaborating with a wide variety of artists in the jazz, rock, pop production shows and songwriter worlds.

“We booked Mama Juke for our 9/24/2022 wedding and they did not disappoint. I can’t say I wasn’t nervous, as they didn’t have any reviews posted yet, but Jon was very helpful in addressing all our concerns and they kept our guests entertained and dancing all night long! They learned our first dance song- Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves and put their own flair to it, which we loved. They are such a fun mix of rock, jazz, bluegrass, country and played a good mix of songs for all ages. I would also recommend listening to some of their original songs and including them in your day, my husband and I were so happy we did. :) I want to have another wedding just so we can have them play again!”

“Kyle made planning our music selections so easy and stress free. The app was was extremely helpful in designating which songs we'd like played at different points throughout the wedding. Being able to leave notes in different areas really made it a breeze to give him a clear concise vision of what we wanted to accomplish and our personal tastes in music. When we met in person to go over finer details Kyle had notes on everything we put in the app and brought up more questions we hadn't considered yet. He was very professional as well as personable. Once all the planning was said and done, my fiancé (now wife) and I just had to kick back and enjoy our special day.
