The Other Wedding DJ
I’ve been a touring drummer for the last decade with Pattern is Movement. I’ve had the pleasure to share the stage with artists like The Roots, St. Vincent, Dirty Projectors, Shabazz Palaces and tour all around the world. I’ve also been booking shows for years at Philly’s own Johnny Brenda’s. My life revolves around music and that is why I love to DJ.
All of my years of listening to and performing music have helped me hone my ability to read a crowd and when I’m spinning a wedding – my focus is to get and keep the party going. So, when you hire me, you’ll get a DJ who is emotionally invested in your day. We’ll work together to figure out the songs you’ve got to hear on that special day as well the ones you do not want played. My job is to get everyone dancing from your Grandma to your best friend and I take that responsibility seriously!

My husband and I could not have been happier with Chris as our wedding DJ. We are really not into the typical wedding DJ vibe (cheesy, plays the same lame songs you hear at every wedding) and were searching for a DJ that would really work with us to bring our vision to life for our reception, and Chris did just that. He was so great to work with and really listened to us about all of our must-play songs. He created a cohesive set based around our music tastes, while still finding songs that guests from all generations could dance to. The dance floor was full of energy the entire night! We received lots of compliments from our guests about the music. Even the staff at our venue commented that they had never seen a dance floor having as much fun as ours, lol! Chris was so kind throughout the whole process, super communicative, and a true pleasure to work with. He's also a true musician and music lover which made all the difference in his set. If you're looking for a DJ to make your wedding the best dance party ever, The Other Wedding DJ is 100% your guy!!
Best wedding DJ EVER!
From our first phone call we knew The Other Wedding DJ, Chris Ward, fit his company name. That he was exactly what we were looking for in a wedding DJ. Someone who truly understands sound and how music can create a perfect ambience. And a month out from our wedding, we can confidently say Chris exceeded our vision. Music is a very important part of both of our lives and Chris was able to skillfully and seamlessly piece together every second of our wedding. We felt very taken care of. Chris's equipment knowledge is top notch, he made sure to have all the right equipment for the space. His extensive experience made for amazing sound and everyone noticed his talent. His use of the app Vibo made this process so easy. We added songs for each segment of our day, and Chris was the thread that wove it all together. Chris coordinated with the few live musicians we had to ensure timelines and sound were aligned well. Chris personally communicated with our day of coordinator to get everyone on the same page. For these many reasons our day ran so smoothly! All of our guests mentioned how extraordinary The Dj was. From teenage nieces and nephew's to our parents in their 60s and 70s, and everyone in between, the vibe was right alllll night. There's no one else we could picture to dj our wedding.

Chris was the perfect DJ for our wedding. By the end of our first call, I could tell that he understood the value and importance of the music to our wedding. It was a collaborative effort that allowed us to put our personalities front and center throughout the day. We had broad license to choose the music we wanted at each stage of the wedding, but Chris applied his own deep appreciation for music and professional experience to ensure that the vibe was just right throughout. I don't think another DJ would have given the time and attention that Chris did. Couldn't recommend more.

It was a joy to have Chris DJ our wedding and he exceeded all of our expectations and hopes for our big day. Chris takes great care to get to know you and your vision for your wedding, and works with you to make sure the music reflects the people and vibe you want to create. He is very upfront and transparent about costs, timeline, expectations, and the process leading up to the wedding. He answers questions quickly and met some of our unique requests for our wedding with a smile and an eagerness to help. And he's a fun, interesting, and kind person. Couldn't recommend Chris more!
