The Other Wedding DJ
I’ve been a touring drummer for the last decade with Pattern is Movement. I’ve had the pleasure to share the stage with artists like The Roots, St. Vincent, Dirty Projectors, Shabazz Palaces and tour all around the world. I’ve also been booking shows for years at Philly’s own Johnny Brenda’s. My life revolves around music and that is why I love to DJ.
All of my years of listening to and performing music have helped me hone my ability to read a crowd and when I’m spinning a wedding – my focus is to get and keep the party going. So, when you hire me, you’ll get a DJ who is emotionally invested in your day. We’ll work together to figure out the songs you’ve got to hear on that special day as well the ones you do not want played. My job is to get everyone dancing from your Grandma to your best friend and I take that responsibility seriously!

This is my most common package. Most weddings have a cocktail hour that is not within the reception space. I will bring a PA for the cocktail hour as well as my usual Reception setup.

The BEST Wedding DJ
We can’t recommend Chris Ward (The Other Wedding DJ) highly enough! From the very first meeting, he was an absolute pleasure to work with: professional, easygoing, and genuinely passionate about creating an unforgettable experience. The dance party was one of the parts of our wedding I was most looking forward to (besides actually getting married, of course), and Chris completely delivered. We built out our song preferences for each part of the night using the Vibo app, which made the process fun and incredibly easy. Chris has just about every song imaginable in his library. And if he doesn’t, he’ll find it. He was even able to edit songs to fit perfectly for our parent dances, which was such a thoughtful touch. He also handled the ceremony sound setup for a small additional (and very fair) charge, and everything sounded flawless from start to finish. Chris gave us the freedom to express ourselves through our music and MC preferences, but when it came time to keep the energy flowing, he took charge and executed our vision perfectly. Our dance floor was packed all night, and so many guests commented on how great the music was. If you’re looking for a DJ who’s talented, flexible, and truly cares about making your day feel personal, The Other Wedding DJ is the one.
The Perfect Soundtrack for Our Day
We’re so thrilled we found Chris to DJ our wedding! He was the perfect fit and captured the energy and spirit of the day beautifully. We had an eclectic vision for our music — not the typical wedding playlist, but something curated to our unique tastes. Chris completely understood that and brought it to life perfectly. He worked closely with us, answered all our questions, and made the entire process so easy. During the reception he was great at reading the room and kept our guests on the dance floor all night. We truly can’t imagine the day without him!

Chris was the DJ for my wedding. My wife and I could not have asked for a better experience! Chris works closely with his clients to tailor the play list for every step of the wedding from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to dinner, and dance party. He also has a special gift for knowing how to get people on the dance floor. I cannot recommend Chris highly enough!
