    The Uptown Band is a no brainer!!!

    My wife and I cannot say enough good things about Erich Cawalla and the rest of the Uptown Band. As we continued to try and schedule and reschedule our wedding during this pandemic, Erich was there every step of the way with us. We spent hours on the phone talking out different scenarios and situations to where we could make our BIG day happen, and he would time after time explain, "Vince, I'll play anytime, anywhere. We're going to make this happen!". This is a true testament to the type of people Erich and the rest of the Uptown Band are. Aside from being incredible to work with, their body of work speaks for itself!!! Erich is an incredible performer and musician, and the rest of the band is just as talented. They don't only just play great music, but they all know how to perform. Their ability to get a party started, keep it going, and leave the entire crowd wanting more is exactly what we wanted for our wedding. We could not have chosen a better group to help us celebrate than Erich Cawalla and the rest of the Uptown Band.

    Uptown Band is the best!

    I can't saw enough positive things about Erich and the rest of the Uptown Band! We got married last June and we still have people talking to us about how amazing they were! Erich was super responsive and patient, and I really appreciated his enthusiasm every step of the way. These guys are the real deal. Everyone danced the night away and had a blast. Just wish it all could have lasted a little longer :)

    Fantastic band

    My wife and I have nothing but good things to say about The Uptown Band! Not only were they easy to work with, they were exceptional musicians and really provided us with the best music for our wedding. They did classical for our ceremony, jazz standards for the cocktail hour, and our choice of music for the reception. Erich is incredibly enthusiastic and will make sure your wedding will be exactly how you want it. They can also learn new songs for any of your dances during the reception!

ABSOLUTELY! However, the requests we take are strictly from the couple that books the band. We are open to learning up to (3) songs for your special dances and will only perform the songs you pick off of our extensive song list. We typically only ask the bride and groom what songs they would like played and do not take requests at the event from your guests unless approved by you.
Yes. Cocktail reception is included in our fee and it typically features an instrumental jazz duo. Ceremony music is an added on service that we can provide featuring any combination of acoustic guitar, piano, flute/soprano saxophone, or trumpet. We also work with some of the best vendors around for other add-ons including String Quartet, Photobooth, Room Uplighting, and all other services.
Based on an old "show-biz" phrase that the entertainers "always should look better than the best-dressed person in the audience", we dress according to this rule.
Absolutely. Our liability insurance includes up to $2 million dollars of coverage and an Insurance Certificate is available upon request. In 15 years, we have not had any insurance claims.
For most wedding shows, we arrive 2-3 hours before your cocktail hour would start. For example, for a 5:00 - 10:00 wedding reception, we would arrive by 2:30.
Absolutely. We work with some of the best vendors in the Northeast. Besides The Uptown Band, our leader Erich Cawalla owns the booking agency Anjoli Productions, which books all types of entertainers and services. He even booked Chris Stapleton for a club show in 2014 before Chris hit stardom---68 people attended and the club lost money! Timing is everything!
Because we are independent contractors in a service industry, there are no additional fees in booking the band. The fee that we quote you is the fee that you will pay.
The Uptown Band was formed in 2005 with the intent of performing ALL types of music, perfect for all types of events. Jazz, Funk, Country, Blues, Top-40, Soul, R&B, Pop, Rap, Swing, and even Polka! We got you covered with music from the 40's to today's hits.
The Uptown band features some of the Northeast's most-accomplished musicians. The talent level of the group is of a "touring musician". Besides our cover music, we have also charted original songs on numerous National Radio Charts and have even had one of our original songs placed on Music Choice on National Cable TV.
