Rob and all the staff we worked with at Second Song were great! I vetted several DJs for my husband’s surprise 70th birthday celebration and selected Second Song live DJ because they were able to provide a soloist and a sax player to compliment the overall DJ experience. Our DJ was Ace, Sax Player Austin and singer Natalie. I booked 11 months in advance, had a phone meet and greet 6 weeks out and had several revisions to the itinerary as we got closer to the event. Any changes , questions or ideas I had were promptly acknowledged, answered and collaborated on which continually reassured me that Second Song took a personal interest in making our night one to remember. I also found out that Second Song is frequently hired by my employer, Providence Medical Center in Torrance, for their Foundation events.

I am so happy to write a review for Seth and his team! From the very beginning, Seth has been a pleasure to work with. The first meeting I was very impressed by how he had researched the wedding venue and its layout so that he could ask us what our thoughts were on setup/DJ location placement etc. Our second meeting was then focused on how to set up the wedding playlist using the Vibo app. The app is fantastic, and an excellent way to keep track of the songs you wish to have played at certain time points (bridal processional, grand entrance, pre-ceremony, etc.). In the app you can request starting timepoints and leave extra notes for Seth to look over weeks before the wedding. Aside from these aspects, Seth went above and beyond to help us with other non-music related aspects of the wedding such as our wedding slideshow (that he helped give us step by step instructions so that the quality of the slideshow would be good for when it was projected on the wall of venue). He also created a mashup for my husband to dance with his mom ("Dance with me" mixed with "Just Dance"; it was amazing!). Even during the week of the wedding, when I had a mini-freak out, he was so kind and understanding. In the end, I 100% recommend Seth (and Matt too! He was at the Photo Booth, and he was so kind and was ready to help folks if any technical help was needed)! Seth's team is professional, kind, and has great attention to detail; if you can, book DJ Seth and his team for your wedding!

We’ve been lucky to know and work with Randall for a few years. When we finally decided to make things “official” we knew we wanted someone that does great work, that we trust, and would make us feel comfortable. We wanted our day to feel like a relaxed family event and Randall helped with that and so much more. He suggested possible locations that would meet our dream event and times to maximize the best lighting for the area. Once we settled on the location and date, he maintained excellent communication in preparation to the event to properly flesh out the day’s timetable, day of logistics, and post. On the day of our wedding he expertly directed us and our families, using the natural lighting to capture the perfect shots. We would have been lost without him, especially since no one knew how to assist with bustling my dress. During our dinner reception he seamlessly directed restaurant staff to assist in transitioning between meals/dessert/toast for more amazing shots. After the wedding he kept us updated on next steps for our pictures. Randall is truly a gem and I would recommend him to anyone looking for someone special to capture their day.

I’m not even sure where to begin to describe how amazing Events by McKenna is at what they do!! McKenna is the most kind, helpful, and enthusiastic person to assist you during such an important time in your life. She made sure everything went perfectly on our wedding day and every day leading up to it! When we first started our wedding planning journey, we only knew where we wanted to have it, and due to the venue location not regularly being used for weddings, we needed to outsource vendors for everything. That's where McKenna came in and helped us out by hand-picking every vendor that she knew would provide the exact things we were looking for. From catering, florals, furniture rentals, DJ, and all the little details, she knew who would be perfect for the job and she was right about every single one! Every time we had a question or a crazy idea, she had an answer right away and she would do everything she could to make it happen. One thing that we were really hoping for was getting a disco ball above our dance floor, but since we were outdoors, it wasn’t looking promising. McKenna was the one who made sure that we got our disco ball, and it was absolutely perfect! That’s just one example of the many ways McKenna ensured our dream wedding would become a reality. On the day of, McKenna and her team were so efficient and handled everything so that my husband and I could relax and focus on ourselves. We got to our venue and everything was already done and ready to start the day! Can’t overstate what an incredible experience we had with the Oviatt. Not only was the venue perfect for wedding, but the staff truly made the entire planning and day-of experience so smooth and welcoming. The space is gorgeous and one-of-a-kind - we didn’t have to decorate at all, there were so many little spaces and pockets guests to explore and mingle in, all the original art deco decor and furnishings were so cool. We didn’t have to add anything (but could have brought in outside rentals and vendors if we wanted) - the venue rental includes seating for the ceremony and reception, the rooftop lounge was fully furnished was lounge furniture, the terrace is already decorated with bistro lighting, twinkle lights and ivy walls, and there is lounge seating throughout the indoor space. Also included were cocktail tables, easels for signage, tables for our buffet set up. All of these things at other venues we looked at were either additional costs or we’d have to bring in additional vendors to supply. What really made the experience though was the Oviatt staff - Lindsey and Gabe are both so friendly, approachable, welcoming and supportive. Other venues we looked at were all business, had a “take it or leave it” vibe and kind of made us feel like we should be grateful for even to be given the chance to have an event there; Lindsey and Gabe were the exact opposite - they weren’t just trying to rent out a space, they were helping us host our wedding and doing everything they could to make sure our plans were realized. They provided us with so much information beyond what was required of them - they had a whole packet with a suggested timeline for planning, a Planning Pod tool that enabled us to track our vendors and plan out our floorplans and seating charts, lists of vendors we needed to consider and decisions we needed to make. Gabe had an actual meeting with us to discuss what we were looking for in a venue and our wedding, and have is all of this information we even booked the space. Lindsey followed up with us periodically in the months leading up to the wedding to remind us of what we needed to be taking care of and making sure we were on track. Both of them were always generous with their time answering our many questions and being flexible in accommodating our requests. We felt so supported and cared for throughout the entire process, and felt more like we had friends in our corner than like we were coordinating with a vendor. Truly cannot say enough about how wonderful this team is and how appreciative we are. We looked at practically every venue in the downtown/northeast LA area, and this one not only blew away the competition in what they offered, but it was also the most affordable option! It’s really like having the efficiency of an all-inclusive venue without the restrictions. And of course all of our guests loved it - we are still getting comments on how unique and beautiful the space was, and how much everyone enjoyed having so many different spaces to explore and congregate throughout the evening. Best decision we could have made.

You will not find a better wedding band than The Moon Units! (and it's way better than a DJ, trust). We chose them because we heard them at our friends’ wedding, and it was the best wedding band we had ever heard. They played songs that weren’t the typical songs you always hear at weddings (and get bored/sick of), and they sounded EXACTLY like the original version of the song - incredible musicians and vocals. My now husband is a former professional musician, so the music at our wedding was extremely important to us, and we knew they were the only choice. From their communication throughout our planning, to their extensive song list, to the option for them to learn specials songs just for us (which they crushed), The Moon Units were nothing short of spectacular. They are also all very kind people, which is the cherry on top and makes such a difference on a wedding day!! They will also be playing at another friends’ upcoming wedding soon too (that’s how impressed everyone is with them). We had so many people come up to us after our wedding to tell us the music was the best out of any wedding they have been to, and everyone had so much fun dancing! 100/10

Literally from the first interaction, Trey was thoroughly professional. We knew instantly that we'd be in good hands during the process, and he maintained through the big day. With Trey, we always had clarity over next steps, and we also got as much flexibility as we could ever hope for. We had a slightly unusual (or, unconventional) ceremony in a couple of ways, and Trey handled every request without any issue. Lastly, and most importantly for a DJ, he nailed the music. Our experience with Xenia and Mark (videographer) was truly amazing. Xenia is truly a dedicated professional and her camera work is truly phenomenal. We booked Xenia for both our engagement and wedding photos and she completely exceeded my expectations! We originally booked Xenia and Mark for our wedding in May but unfortunately our wedding venue closed last minute and we were left to scramble in finding a new venue and once we did Xenia was so accommodating and made the new wedding date work. Xenia and Mark are super easy to work with; truly genuine individuals! I scoured through hundreds of photographers before I came across Xenia and honestly, none of them compared to her work and eye for photography. Michelle was such a delight to work with, and the entire Something’s Blooming team really went above and beyond to make our wedding day so special. Creating the vision for our wedding florals with Michelle was so much fun because she took all our wacky ideas and ran with them, and we really appreciate how many personal details she incorporated into her designs. I knew that I wanted animal skulls included in the centerpieces and my bouquet, and upon hearing this Michelle didn’t even bat an eye! We also heard many people raving about the pocket square boutonnières our groomsmen wore- they were absolutely stunning, and the groomsmen appreciated that they were much easier to put on/manage than traditional boutonnières. In addition to creating the most beautiful floral designs we ever could’ve imagined, we heard from many family members and members of the wedding party that Michelle and her team were incredibly personable and that they enjoyed talking to them while receiving their boutonnières, corsages, etc. After communicating with Michelle for several months leading up to the wedding, we of course knew this would be the case! We cannot recommend Something’s Blooming enough, not only for the outstanding floral designs but also for the warm and welcoming atmosphere the team brings to every wedding.

The Platinum DJs were absolutely amazing as our wedding DJ!
