Hi, we're The Moon Units! We're known throughout California for our 1,000+ song list, our authentic on-stage chemistry, and performances that clients have called "better than the original bands" that recorded the songs. And because we're a real band, we offer prices that are just a fraction of what corporate booking agencies charge. We can't wait to play for you!

Five things set The Moon Units apart from other wedding bands. 1. Versatility: We know over 1,000 songs in all sorts of genres, and add new ones all the time. 2. Talent: Our players and singers hail from top music programs like Berklee College of Music, UCLA, and CalArts. 3. Authenticity: Ever go to a wedding and think the band was so ridiculously cheesy? Not The Moon Units! We're as authentic as a band you'd see in live club or theater. 4. Fun: How does fronting the band during live band karaoke sound? You can do it! It's available with all our packages. 5. Respect: We treat our clients with respect and never slap them with hidden fees.

Incredibly Talented, Fun, and Professional
The Moon Units were an incredibly important piece of our wedding weekend, and weeks after the event we still have guests reaching out about how blown away they were by the band. They are an incredibly talented group of musicians, playing everything from Rush to Robyn and Steely Dan to Sir Mix-A-Lot. They were unbelievably good at working with and understanding the 'vibes' of my wife and I, curating an exceptional setlist that had something for every age and musical interest. Highlights for us included walking down the aisle to an acoustic version of "Champagne Supernova", and dancing at the reception to "Tom Sawyer", 'Bring Me To Life", "The Impression That I Get", and "Dancing on My Own", but they have a list of over 1,000 songs and can really do any sort of music you're looking for. They're professional, friendly, and talented, and my only regret is that we can't get married again to hear them play one more time. As one guest said to me at the wedding, "I've never seen literally every single person on the dance floor at a wedding before, but they had everyone partying for three hours straight".

Blown away by this band!!
The Moon Units are AMAZING! They played at our wedding about a week ago and all night our guests kept coming up to us and saying how awesome the band was and asking me how I found them. And I found them on the internet thanks to other people's glowing reviews! I only have the most positive things to say about them. From day 1 of reaching out to them, Dylan (he is in the band and handles the bookings) was wonderful at communicating and answering all of our questions. Pricing was very reasonable and well worth the money!!! They have over 900 songs they can play. As a bride I was torn all night between going to chat with guests and staying on the dance floor!!! I cannot recommend The Moon Units enough. Our day of coordinator and venue coordinator, who have seen many many weddings, were so impressed with the band they got Dylan's contact info so they can refer other clients to The Moon Units.

Best Wedding band!
We hired The Moon Units for our wedding and they completely exceeded our hopes and expectations and made the night unforgettable. Dylan, the band director, is very friendly and responsive, and helped us decide what we wanted for our big day. We decided to do live music for our ceremony and cocktail hour which was such a special touch. Their song list is incredible with a huge selection to choose from. On top of that, they learn three additional songs of your choosing. It meant so much to hear those specific songs played live by such a talented group. They welcomed our guests up on stage to sing during our reception which were some of our favorite moments of the night. We had so many guests come up to us — and continue to text us afterward — raving about how good the band was. We could not recommend them more highly!

The best wedding band of all time
TL;DR you’re not going to find a better entertainment option for your wedding than The Moon Units! I always wanted a band for my wedding, but wasn’t sure it would work out with our budget. Thankfully, Dylan and his team were able to deliver an incredible product at a comfortable price point. They offer different packages and even with the most affordable one with the fewest band members we didn’t feel like we missed anything! They are such talented musicians and the catalog that they offer is unparalleled. Perhaps the greatest perk is that most weddings end up adding three songs to their repertoire. This is because the standard package includes them learning three songs of your choice to make your evening bespoke. So just in the time between booking them and your big day, there’s a good chance one of your favorite songs will be added to their catalog! This thankfully happened for us. We really wanted a Vampire Weekend song and someone added one of our favorite bangers: Unbelievers! And we only had 6 months between signing our deal and our December nuptials. If you’re a control freak/music nut like me, then you’ll also appreciate how they allow you tweak their set list to your liking. My only regret is that they had to cut a few of my favorite tracks because speeches and other parts of our evening ran long. I’m grateful they played one of the cut songs during sound check and I got to appreciate it just before first look. There were only a tiny number of decisions in wedding planning that were as simple and straightforward as hiring The Moon Units. I think you’ll find the same experience. I can’t imagine having anyone else provide the soundtrack to our special day. And the icing on the wedding cake: we have a board recording and can relive every note from their marvelous three hours set. What a gift. They make me want to become a professional wedding crasher so I can hear them perform on the regular!

Book the Moon Units!!!
The Moon Units were an amazing choice for our wedding in Los Angeles. The venue was the Adamson House which is somewhat challenging logistically for vendors, but the Moon Units were really flexible and able to navigate the demands of the venue flawlessly. Their communications and planning with us (primarily through Dylan) were prompt, organized, and professional. On the day of the wedding, their performance at the ceremony and the reception were fantastic and added such a special atmosphere to the event. We're so glad we went with the Moon Units!
