We are Desi and Tammy Mendoza, a husband-and-wife photography team that has been photographing weddings and portraits for over 9 years. We love many things, but the one thing that drew us to wedding photography is our love of people. We genuinely cherish every moment we get to spend with the people we meet. By becoming a part of the wedding day as much any member of the wedding party, we have the unique ability to capture the unplanned and raw moments, all while making you feel comfortable in your own skin. Our style can be described as natural, unforced, and moment-driven.

Our best & fastest decision for our wedding was who would take our pictures! We met Desi & Tammy while they took engagement pictures for Darrel’s cousins wedding. We ended up tagging along on the photo shoot, had so much fun, and loved all the pictures! When it came to our wedding it was a no brainer. They went above and beyond to take our engagement pictures at these sand dunes & a brewery that we’re nowhere near each other. It was windy and sand was everywhere, but they were able to make it all look so beautiful! When it came to our wedding, they were amazing! We were so nervous and they made us both so comfortable while taking pictures. I also love how Tammy takes full control over getting the right people for pictures and making sure everyone listens to photo instructions - especially for big groups! Our pictures turned out so amazing and we love them so much! Our vendors loved them too and used them for advertisements on their websites and company magazines! In all, they are sooo incredibly amazing at what they do and we’re definitely using them for all the milestones in our lives !

Choosing second song as our DJ service for our wedding was the best decision we could have made!! The team is so accommodating and made the process of choosing our DJ so easy. After choosing second song, they allowed us to set up phone calls to interview DJ's to find the perfect fit for us. We ended up choosing DJ Daniel Cabral. Daniel was attentive and set up multiple meetings with us prior to our wedding to discuss our vision for our wedding day. Everything ran perfectly throughout the entire day. The audio for our ceremony was perfect and the music selections throughout cocktail hour, dinner, and the reception set the mood for our wedding. We also hired a string trio through second song and they did a beautiful job at our ceremony and cocktail hour. Our reception was a party and Daniel made sure people were on the dance floor all night long. We also had my cousin play the trumpet at our reception while Daniel played a song in the background. Daniel mic'd up his trumpet for us and it was such a hit! We also got our Photo Booth through second song and they provided the uplighting at the venue! They are everything you could want from a DJ service and more!! If you are looking for a DJ service, second song is the way to go!!!!

DJ Seth was beyond prepared for all of our prep meetings, and is extremely knowledgeable so we knew we could trust him to take good care of us. To be honest, he sold me from the very first introductory meeting when he had a powerpoint presentation (!) to share, and then locked it in with my husband when he showed us the app that we would be using to share our music selections. Music is such a critical component of a party, and the one thing we were certain of was that we wanted everyone to have an amazing time and dance the night away. He definitely delivered on our request for pop music, blending in hit after hit, and got a rousing chant for an encore at the end of the night! We didn't know much about uplighting, but since it came with our package (plus he upgraded us with some fancier lights) we went with it - and looking back at the photos, it truly helped set the mood for the entire party. One slightly different request we had was met with ease - we had some cultural dancers during the reception who had their own music track, and Seth was so accommodating. He also provided the sound system for the string quartet that we hired to play during the ceremony; since it was outdoors, it was nice to have them amplified so they weren't drowned out by the ambient noise. We are so thankful to Seth for helping us throw the best party of our lives! VERY HIGHLY recommend!

I’m not even sure where to begin to describe how amazing Events by McKenna is at what they do!! McKenna is the most kind, helpful, and enthusiastic person to assist you during such an important time in your life. She made sure everything went perfectly on our wedding day and every day leading up to it! When we first started our wedding planning journey, we only knew where we wanted to have it, and due to the venue location not regularly being used for weddings, we needed to outsource vendors for everything. That's where McKenna came in and helped us out by hand-picking every vendor that she knew would provide the exact things we were looking for. From catering, florals, furniture rentals, DJ, and all the little details, she knew who would be perfect for the job and she was right about every single one! Every time we had a question or a crazy idea, she had an answer right away and she would do everything she could to make it happen. One thing that we were really hoping for was getting a disco ball above our dance floor, but since we were outdoors, it wasn’t looking promising. Literally from the first interaction, Trey was thoroughly professional. We knew instantly that we'd be in good hands during the process, and he maintained through the big day. With Trey, we always had clarity over next steps, and we also got as much flexibility as we could ever hope for. We had a slightly unusual (or, unconventional) ceremony in a couple of ways, and Trey handled every request without any issue. Lastly, and most importantly for a DJ, he nailed the music. We felt like he "got" us while also filling in the gaps appropriately. A true professional, and we feel fortunate having him on the deck for our celebration.

The Moon Units made our wedding day truly spectacular! Every single guest says that a highlight of our wedding was the Moon Units. We loved how professional and flexible they were. Each member of the band is beyond talented and phenomenal. You must hire the Moon Units and I promise you will have the best event you’ve ever been to or hosted. The Moon Units performance at cocktail hour was incredible and then their performance for two dance sets was SO MUCH FUN! The bass player will even get on the dance floor and play with you which is just such a highlight! They are so versatile and know just about every song. Incredible. They can also help MC the wedding/event and that went flawlessly! It’s really amazing how they can cater to such a variety of ages/demographic with their music/vibe. Again every conversation we have about our wedding includes some glowing statement about the band. I can’t stress the amount of compliments we received about the talent and just overall vibe. They were a major highlight for every single guest. They are a truly talented group of individual artists and performers, who seamlessly come together collectively to put on an amazing show. But more importantly, they could not have been any more lovely as humans. They really made a magical weekend that much more magical, and we cannot say enough positive things. The team worked back and forth on the setlist and specific sound queues throughout the event. We likely weren’t the easiest to work with because of how specific our vision was for those individual moments throughout the run of show and the team really killed it when it was time for the event! I don’t know when we’ll ever host a party like this again, (though we won’t look any further than Dart) but we will certainly shout our referrals from the rooftops if any of our friends, families or coworkers are ever planning an event.

As the MOG, I know my son and his bride were so happy with Hayley. She has excellent professional credentials, and has outstanding stamina and enthusiasm, which was evident during a long day and night. She really made an effort to get to know the bride and groom, and tailor her services to their desires. She treated the families very courteously, but has a playful side which instilled a relaxed atmosphere right off the bat at the rehearsal evening. The timeline was highly organized and detailed, so little was left to chance.

I cannot say enough good things about Michelle and her team! Michelle was the very first vendor we hired, and she was there for us and helped to guide and support us through the entire process, and I trusted her completely to bring our vision to life. I felt that she really cared about us as a couple, and that care was evident in the work that she and her team did on our wedding day. Our florals were gorgeous, and I received numerous compliments from guests both during and after the wedding. Her team did such a great job with set up and clean up, and they went above and beyond for our big day. We loved working with her!
