“The photographer, videographer, and photo booth was absolutely perfect and our guests had a blast! However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”

He was very professional and easy to work with from the beginning and we knew after our first conversion he'd be able to get the party going. It really made a difference that he took the time to learn about the flow of the wedding and our musical preferences. On the wedding day, he made sure everything was ready before our guests arrived by coming early to set things up. He even had backup music ready in case the musicians had to cancel due to inclement weather. He even mic'd our officiant for the ceremony. The music choice for the reception flowed naturally from our wedding through cocktail hour and into the evening. He supplied excellent uplighting, which really improved the dance party's ambiance. “I found Mike via thumbtack & although on there it stated he was booked on my wedding date I thought I’d still reach out to him. I’m so happy I did because he put me in touch with our dj, thankyouteddy and he did an awesome job djing for our wedding! Mike was very informative and gave me plenty of information. He also has you do a questionnaire to help narrow down the right dj for you based off your music preferences. Mike will reached out periodically to follow up & also puts you in touch with the dj the week of the wedding to go over details. Teddy arrived on time and kept everyone on our toes throughout the night. The only thing I will say, is if you’re doing bridal party introductions it’s best to rehearse it if possible. Or give an exact time of the song for your dj to play when each couple comes out.”

“Working with Hovey Entertainment was such a smooth experience from start to finish. Eric himself responded to every question we had quickly and knew exactly what we needed to make our day special. When you hire Eric, you actually get Eric. From the first call to the wedding day it’s always him you’re talking to and working with. No surprises! What really stood out was how his photobooth attendant went above and beyond. She overheard me crying to my best friend before our grand entrance that our coordinator had completely forgotten to set out the empty chair we'd set aside for my dad. He passed before the wedding and no attention was given to that beyond important detail. She left the booth, went and hunted it down, and then personally made sure it was positioned just right and set up with his name and reserved sign by the bar which meant the world to me. It wasn’t even her job but she sprung to action without even thinking and fixed it. When I apologized for crying to her about it she put her hand on my shoulder and told me she completely understood in a way that just made me feel like she actually got how important that was for me. She was amazing. The entertainment itself was stellar and felt exactly like what we'd envisioned for our wedding. We barely had to do any work. Eric did it all. All we told him was the vibe, some favorites, and songs for specific moments. He nailed it all. Eric's professionalism and attention to detail made everything run seamlessly, and honestly, we'd hire him again and again without hesitation. If you're looking for a DJ that truly cares about getting it right, Hovey Entertainment is the way to go. We did uplighting, photobooth, and full day DJ services. 100% worth what we paid. Quotes were higher for Eric than others, but not by much and I promise you’re paying for the professionalism, work ethic, and knowledge it’s going to be perfect with the actual person you hired. He’s worth the few extra hundred. Our venue even reached out to us after and told us how impressed they were with Eric. I hope he made it onto their preferred list. He deserves it! “We hired Katie as our wedding DJ & she crushed it!! We got many compliments after the event about her song selections, emceeing, and ability to keep the evening on track. During our wedding, we planned to go straight from speeches into formal dances. In the moment, we decided we needed a quick break in between and Katie handled it flawlessly. She preemptively checked in with us before announcing the dances then was able to pivot and direct people to grab desserts & coffee. Katie kept the dance floor going all night and handled requests like a pro— I appreciated that she checked in with us on requests she wasn’t sure we’d like. From the start, Jay was incredibly kind, supportive, completely on top of every little detail and just really helpful throughout the process. When we had to postpone our May 2020 wedding because of Covid, and then changed our August 2020 rescheduled wedding to more of an elopement with 17 people, he was really flexible and supportive and and just wanted to help in whatever way he could. Our wedding weekend turned out to be a little extra stressful and he was calm and professional the entire time. The timing and edits of the music all turned out perfectly and he does an awesome job as the Master of Ceremonies. We wish we could have seen Jay shine with a huge dance party because we knew it would have been epic, but honestly, he shined in the ways you want any wedding vendor of yours to shine: he acted like a friend who was going to be there for you no matter what. Such an amazing value to have all of that in one package! Also, everything you see in the pictures I added, he provided!
