DJ Dave Heinrich has been mixing on Technics 1200 turntables since the late '90s — and he still uses those same turntables at every wedding he DJs today. As an open format DJ and professional MC, Dave brings genuine musical passion, deep experience, and a detail-oriented approach to every event. He's the co-founder of the Lafayette Music Fest and a Best of Zola 2026 honoree, serving couples throughout Boulder County and the Colorado Front Range.

    Best DJ we could have asked for

    Dave from Tier Two was hands down the best choice we made for our wedding. From the pre-planning to the day of - he was professional, helpful, and most importantly turned our dance floor into a full on party. Pre-Planning: Dave immediately brought a sense of calm professionalism, and asked us exactly what we were looking for out of our reception dance party. We told him we wanted maximal energy on the dance floor, minimal emcee work, and some help keeping the day flowing. Day Of: During the ceremony, he set up the equipment with zero issue, and was flexible as the weather shifted throughout the day. He provided all the microphones we needed, and the audience was able to clearly hear the entire ceremony. He transitioned to cocktail hour and dinner without any hassle, and helped us organize our guests and stay on schedule. During the reception he managed our rowdy crowd, and the toasts and speeches went off without a hitch. The most important part - the dance party. Dave is truly a MASTER on the decks. The first hour was great family-friendly upbeat vibes - all of the parents, aunts, and uncles were out there dancing. When we asked him to turn the energy up, he delivered. It was a full on rave - seriously the dance party of our dreams. He played until midnight, and the floor was packed the whole time. He blended our playlist perfectly with some secret weapons of his own, and it was perfect.

    Exactly the Kind of Vendor You Want on Your Team

    DJ Dave is fantastic to work with! I had the pleasure of working alongside him as the event coordinator for a wedding at our Homestead at Black Canyon Inn venue. He was a true team player from the planning process all the way through the end of the night. Before the wedding, Dave was helpful in brainstorming the event setup and flow and brought thoughtful ideas to the table that helped everything come together seamlessly. On the wedding day, his communication was excellent. He worked closely with me and the photography team to make sure we were all in sync on transitions, special moments, and timing throughout the evening. That kind of teamwork makes such a difference behind the scenes, and Dave made it easy. The entire day flowed beautifully! Once it was time to party, he absolutely delivered! He knew how to read the room, kept the dance floor packed, and made sure the guests had an incredible time. Dave is professional, collaborative, and genuinely wonderful to work with. From a venue and coordinator perspective, he is exactly the kind of vendor you hope to have on your team. I would happily work with him again and highly recommend him to any couple looking for a DJ who will not only bring the party, but also be an incredible partner throughout the entire event.

    Best DJ Ever!!

    Dave was an absolutely exceptional wedding DJ - we had many guests commenting that he was the best DJ they had experienced! He was responsive to our requests AND the mood of the crowd to ensure the dance floor was never empty. He made the planning process and actual night wonderful from start to finish, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience on such a special day.

Yes! We have a few different kind of lights for various needs. We have bright and colorful LED wash lights that work well as dance floor lighting or accent lighting near the front of the reception. We also have wireless, battery powered uplights that are great at adding additional color around the room. They can easily be moved from the ceremony to the reception area if needed.
Yes, I can take music requests, but I typically leave it up to the bride and groom if they want me to.
Yes! I have Ableton Live and can create custom mixes and edits of songs if so desired.
Absolutely! I have a battery powered speaker for wedding ceremonies that take place away from a power source. I can provide up to three sound systems if needed (additional fees may apply though).
I typically try to match the aesthetic of the wedding. I typically wear a black suit with a black button down shirt. I can wear a tuxedo for fancier weddings or a black polo shirt with black slacks for more relaxed weddings. Don't be alarmed when I'm not wearing that when I first arrive. I wear separate load in & setup clothes so that my fancy stuff stays nice.
I use two Technics 1200 turntables (and a microphone...) with a Pioneer S9 mixer and Serato. This allows me to play any song you want while giving a great retro vibe. I beat match and actually mix my reception sets (and often dinner too!). I can "quick mix" songs together, where I'm aiming to play the best 60-90 seconds of songs, but I'm also happy to play full songs too.
I typically arrive about 2-3 hours before guests arrive. For larger setups with multiple sound systems and lighting, I'll arrive at least 3 hours ahead of guest arrival time.
Absolutely! We're fully inclusive of all people and have LGBTQ friendly playlists to support it. Want suggestions for a gender neutral first dance song? We got you!
