Q: Are you fully insured?

Yes, my company, Tier Two Live, LLC is fully insured. We're also a registered business with the State of Colorado.

Q: Do you provide other services, such as lighting?

Yes! We have a few different kind of lights for various needs. We have bright and colorful LED wash lights that work well as dance floor lighting or accent lighting near the front of the reception. We also have wireless, battery powered uplights that are great at adding additional color around the room. They can easily be moved from the ceremony to the reception area if needed.

Q: Do you take music requests?

Yes, I can take music requests, but I typically leave it up to the bride and groom if they want me to.

Q: Can you create custom songs for spotlight dances or grand entry?

Yes! I have Ableton Live and can create custom mixes and edits of songs if so desired.

Q: Do you provide music for wedding ceremonies or cocktail receptions?

Absolutely! I have a battery powered speaker for wedding ceremonies that take place away from a power source. I can provide up to three sound systems if needed (additional fees may apply though).

Q: What do you wear?

I typically try to match the aesthetic of the wedding. I typically wear a black suit with a black button down shirt. I can wear a tuxedo for fancier weddings or a black polo shirt with black slacks for more relaxed weddings. Don't be alarmed when I'm not wearing that when I first arrive. I wear separate load in & setup clothes so that my fancy stuff stays nice.

Q: What is your style?

I use two Technics 1200 turntables (and a microphone...) with a Pioneer S9 mixer and Serato. This allows me to play any song you want while giving a great retro vibe. I beat match and actually mix my reception sets (and often dinner too!). I can "quick mix" songs together, where I'm aiming to play the best 60-90 seconds of songs, but I'm also happy to play full songs too.

Q: How early do you come to set up?

I typically arrive about 2-3 hours before guests arrive. For larger setups with multiple sound systems and lighting, I'll arrive at least 3 hours ahead of guest arrival time.

Q: Are you LGBTQ friendly?

Absolutely! We're fully inclusive of all people and have LGBTQ friendly playlists to support it. Want suggestions for a gender neutral first dance song? We got you!

Q: What is your travel and break down fee?

All setup & breakdown fees are covered in our quoted fee. Travel further than one hour from Lafayette, CO is $50 per hour.

DJ Dave started on turntables back in the late 90's and hasn't turned back. There's something magical about the wheels of steel. As Beck once said "Where it's at.... Book Two Tier Live for a Fantastic DJ/MC
We were originally recommended to Dave after our first wedding DJ had to cancel on us, and from the moment we met him, we knew he was the perfect fit! Dave is incredibly down-to-earth yet amazingly organized and detail-oriented. During the planning process, Dave was phenomenal. He took the time to truly understand how we wanted our day to unfold, what songs we wanted played throughout, and all the little details that would make him an exceptional MC. On the day of our wedding, Dave was beyond flexible when unexpected rain threw our schedule off. He was personable not only with my husband and me but also with our vendors and guests. As an MC, he was absolutely top-notch — saying all the right things at the right moments and keeping the energy flowing seamlessly. When one of our ceremony songs ended before everyone had finished walking down the aisle, he used his instincts and quickly kept the music going without missing a beat. Dave is an all-around great guy — professional, genuine, and clearly passionate about what he does. One of the sweetest touches was when, during our final dance (after our photographer had already left), Dave took photos and a video for us and later shared them. It was such a thoughtful gesture that meant so much to us. I would recommend Dave to absolutely anyone looking for not just a fun, life-of-the-party DJ and MC, but also someone reliable, heartfelt, and truly dedicated to making your day the best it can be.

Tier Two Live was an amazing choice for our DJ. From the very first interaction, their communication was great - they were attentive to our needs and always happy to answer any questions we had. Would recommend 10 out of 10!
We hired DJ Dave to DJ and MC at our wedding and we couldn't be happier with the entire experience. From the beginning he made a point to check in with us consistently about timeliness, schedules and our preferences for music, MC wants and our general style so he could cater the music to our expectations. He went even further and questioned us about things we had never even considered, and ensured he knew every minute detail to make our day even more special and even custom mixed his was through our personal set list. So glad we had the opportunity to work with Dave, because it was obvious that this is something he's very passionate about, and his price was more than reasonable for the extent of his knowledge and skill. Would recommend 10 out of 10.
