I’m Edgar, an HTX-raised native with Salvadorian roots. I am the owner, creative director, and lead photographer at Anchor Studios Photography. I'm a wedding and elopement photographer based out of Pittsburgh, PA! However, the stories I capture don't start and end there. I love to travel to capture stories all around the world.

I have been a photographer for the last 20 years, shooting weddings, elopements and portraits. I'm proud to have shot more than 150 same-sex weddings, which is probably more than, well, just about anyone. That said, I’ve worked with as many straight couples as LGBTQ ones. I don't discriminate. I'm from the suburbs of Philly but now live up in the mountains of Northeast PA in Montrose, right on the border of Central NY. I'm married to a woodworker (who HAD to be the inspiration behind Ron Swanson because they're the same human), we live on 25 acres with three huge dogs (2 Golden Retrievers and one Great Pyrenees) and three ducks - and I'm constantly begging for more animals. I'm outgoing, sarcastic & humorous, and I love organization/cleaning, sushi, reading, The Office, and traveling everywhere I can.

My interest in photography and video started when I was twelve years old. Since then, I continued to do photography and video operation, but this time it was my career. In 2003, I began professionally offering my services and working freelance while attending college. When I got married, I was then able to see how it was on the other side... as the groom. Before I ever held a camera, as a kid I was obsessed with organizing and reorganizing printed family snapshots in albums. This infatuation with captured moments, led to picking out my first film camera, a 35mm Pentax, film developing and darkroom printing in high school, and then my BFA in Photography Degree. From there, I worked in varied sectors of photography, but my true passion lay in documentary work that could bring about awareness of challenging global situations. I have published and exhibited journalistic series internationally, notably at Oxford University and Aperture Foundation.

When I first started wedding photography, I made a goal of being more than just the photographer on your big day.
