About Jessica Manns Photography

Jessica Manns

Owner

Hey! I'm Jess, the owner of the company that's named after me - shocking, right? I'm from the suburbs of Philly but now live up in the mountains of Northeast PA in Montrose, right on the border of Central NY. I'm married to a woodworker (who HAD to be the inspiration behind Ron Swanson because they're the same human), we live on 25 acres with three huge dogs (2 Golden Retrievers and one Great Pyrenees) and three ducks - and I'm constantly begging for more animals. I'm outgoing, sarcastic & humorous, and I love organization/cleaning, sushi, reading, The Office, and traveling everywhere I can.

    Fantastic day!

Jess was such a pleasure to work with! She was super communicative through the whole process and captured our wedding absolutely perfectly! She worked with us to set a realistic timeline to make sure we got our “must have” photos as well as some that we didn’t think of. The photos turned out beautifully, and we got them early! All of the candids of our family and friends were such fun to see! Book Jess now!

The absolute best photographer and person!

Jess is INCREDIBLE. First of all, she helped us feel so relaxed, and brought so much smiles and fun to the day. We first did an engagement shoot with her which was really helpful at getting to know her style and how she photographs. And those pictures came out so beautiful and we used them on our invitations and wedding website and got so many compliments! On the actual wedding day, she had a second photographer which is also a large reason we wanted to hire her team! Having two photographers helped to get so many more memorable shots from different angles. She kept us on schedule, knew exactly what she needed to get, and got it done! Now for the quality of the actual photos… Just wow. The fact that she uses digital AND film photography adds so much more personality and love into the images. I’m personally not a fan of wedding photography that is dark, serious, and moody which is why I picked Jess. The colors are vibrant, fun, colorful, and happy and all while keeping the whites in the images not blown out! She is great at capturing the personality of the people she photographs and can pick out those little details that highlight those attributes. Photography can be expensive for a wedding. However, I think photography is arguably the most important vendor you’re going to hire. These are the memories you’re going to look back on and you want those to be quality images to remember all those important details and how you felt throughout the day. Jess captures all those details, and more. I’m so glad we trusted and invested in Jess. She was all worth it!

    WE LOVE YOU JESS!!!

Jess is the BEST of the best. Truly!! We had obsessed over her beautiful work from afar for months prior to reaching out, she has the most insane eye for composition and color. Before the wedding, she kept in touch with us actively and answered all our questions with ease! But the real treat was when we actually met. Our whole wedding day (and our engagement photos too!) felt like we were just hanging out with a great friend. When she arrived on our wedding day, we jumped right into easy joking and laughing like she had spent the whole day with us already! She has this crazy knack for eliciting genuine joy in photos just by being her warm, bubbly self. We never felt any insecurity while taking photos with her. She effortlessly coaches poses and captures the silly little candid moments that make the day unique! Jess was so prepared for the wedding day, and super knowledgeable about the little wedding details that you wouldn’t consider. She offered her help and support in a way that never felt intrusive. Jess got our group photos done in a jiffy and was SO EFFICIENT. She made us laugh the whole day through and contributed to the vibes of the day so well. You can tell from her work that Jess puts so much care into editing and composing each and every shot, we have spent so much time admiring all of our photos. We could not have asked for a more spectacularly captured time capsule of our day, we will treasure these photos forever. We would recommend Jess to absolutely anyone who asks (and even those who don’t.)

    Jess is AMAZING!!

There aren’t enough stars for Jess! She absolutely CRUSHED our elopement photos!! From the moment I reached out to her I felt like I’d known her for years! The personal relationship she develops with you and her attention to detail and making sure your wants are not only met, but exceeded are mind blowing! Beyond happy we chose her for our special day!

I live in the mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania in Montrose which is minutes away from the border of Central New York. I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, so I photograph weddings all over PA, NY, and NJ.
An emphatic “Yes, please!” I’ve traveled to many amazing locations for both weddings and sessions including Las Vegas, Missouri, California, North Carolina, Ireland, Mexico, Italy, and Anguilla. I’m always up for an adventure (truly, I’m a travel-holic), so let me know where you are or where you’re going and I’ll let you know how to get me there!
I photograph between 35 to 45 weddings each year and have been in business since I was 18. I’m full-time in my business so my couples are my full-time priority - but I never take on more than I can handle per year! Ain’t nobody got time fo’ being burnt out.
I do not offer videography services or photo booth coverage but I can send referrals for amazing companies that I love who do!
I use all professional grade equipment so I come with the best of the best and back-ups for absolutely everything. I have yet to have an equipment crisis at a wedding because I bring back ups with me in case something malfunctions. I also backup all files onto several backup drives so if my computer or a hard drive malfunctions, all of your files are safe through several layers of backup.
I include a second photographer in every package! Sometimes I'll also bring along an assistant with me if the guest count is really high or the timeline means that I need extra help.
Yes! Every single photo that I deliver to you will be edited for exposure, contrast, color, white balance, etc. I include editing of small blemishes and can provide a quote for further retouching if desired after you get the photos back and would like some extra things done.
Yep! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
Absolutely! I can create a custom quote for you depending on the hours of coverage and inclusions you’d like if the provided wedding collections weren’t quite the right fit. Let’s call it an A La Carte option. Just let me know what you’re thinking and we can chat through it!
This answer varies on a lot of factors, but typical coverage is 8 hours. I love to help my couples create their wedding day timelines so I can absolutely help you determine how much coverage you’d need for everything you want documented. And you can always start small for now and then add on extra hours of coverage later if you decide you need extra time.
Hell yes! I'm very passionate about inclusivity and diversity. All sexual orientation, gender identities, ethnicity, religion, etc. are welcome.
Maybe! But even if I haven’t, don’t let that deter you. It’s so exciting to be at new venues that I haven’t been to before. I feel more creative, refreshed, and inspired than if I’m at the same venues a lot. I always arrive at least half an hour early so I can walk around and check out the venue when I get there! New venues are such a welcome breath of fresh air for us wedding vendors.
Engagement sessions typically range between 40-60 images. Weddings typically range between 50 to 100 photos per hour of coverage.
Editing takes some love and attention, but the absolute longest that you’ll wait for a full gallery to be finished and delivered to you is 12 weeks. But, since waiting is the worst, I do send some sneak peeks within a few days after the wedding to share with family and friends as you wait for the full gallery.
Absolutely! I send full wedding galleries to each inquiry that I receive but if you’d like to see even more, just ask! I love showing them off.
YAYYY! All I require is a non-refundable retainer to reserve your day on my schedule and for you both to sign my contract to make this official! The retainer to reserve your date with me is 1/3 of the package cost + tax, the second payment is another 1/3 due 90 days before the wedding, and the final 1/3 payment is due one month before the wedding.
