“Defiance Hall is a remarkable setting for a special event. Having attended a Scottish dinner there, I was amazed at the meticulous renovations that have gone into preserving and repurposing this spacious historic building, once a 1820's sawmill located between Forts Crown Point and Ticonderoga. The attention to detail and quality of the work and interior furnishings are impressive while rustic and comfortable, not to mention the fact that War Cannon Spirits produces fine small batch whiskeys and bourbons in their nearby distillery! Having worked with the owner to help organize the Burns Night dinner, I can also say that the crew is easy and pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend choosing this venue for weddings and special events, it truly is a gem!”

“My husband Chris and I were married at M&D Farm this weekend and are now soaking up the afterglow radiating from the happiest day of our lives. To exchange our vows in the lushest, most romantic and lovingly tended gardens, surrounded by our friends and family was a dream come true. We visited M&D Farm as a newly engaged couple in June 2023 and knew it would be a perfect fit from the start. From that point, Daniel and Mario worked with us every step of the way to bring our vision to life. We appreciated their attention to detail and clear communication, but most of all, we were delighted by their passion to celebrate the unique love of every couple they work with. Two years later (down to the day), all of our hard work and collaboration with Mario and Daniel paid off. It was truly a flawless weekend, from the ceremony rehearsal to the final squeeze goodbye at the end of our wedding night. Chris and I were able to truly LIVE our day, thanks to Mario and Daniel's kind, steady presence, working expertly in the background to ensure the perfect experience for us and our people. After 12 years together, Chris and I couldn't imagine a more meaningful place to make our commitments to forever. We will cherish our wedding at M&D Farm, each day, for the rest of our days.”

“Everyone loved our wedding. We had so much fun swimming, boating & fishing in the lake on the days before the wedding. We not only rented the 3 cabins on the property, but we also put up glamping tents near the cabins. We had 32 people staying here for 3 nights and 4 days. We had our rehearsal dinner, wedding and brunch the day after the wedding under a beautiful tent alongside the lake. It was breathtaking. My family and friends can’t stop talking about how much fun our 4 days together were. The owners are in a cabin at the back of the property, so they were there for us whenever we needed them all week.”

“We recently attended a wedding at L’Orangerie in Greenville, NY, and it was absolutely incredible. The entire venue felt magical from start to finish. The greenhouse was full of natural light, it created the most beautiful setting for the celebration, and the surrounding grounds were just as stunning. There are so many picturesque spots for a ceremony: near the peaceful pond, inside the greenhouse itself, or tucked among the trees. The house on-site where the wedding party got ready was gorgeous, spacious, and filled with natural light, making the whole morning feel relaxed and special. Everywhere we turned, the property offered another beautiful backdrop for photos. Since we attended in October, the fall foliage was breathtaking with vibrant oranges, reds, and golds that made the whole venue feel like something out of a storybook. L’Orangerie is truly a dream wedding venue. Every detail, from the scenery to the atmosphere, made the day unforgettable. The owners, Lucy and Felix were there too and lovely! Highly recommend!”

“We had our wedding reception at Pine Ridge Farms and what a magical and unforgettable experience we had! You can see the Catskill Mountains from the property and the views are breathtaking. The owner, Ms. Gioja was truly wonderful and she made the planning process seamless for us. Which was so important, because it was my first time and she was patient and so very accommodating. It was apparent that she wanted the bride to be happy!!! She was an absolute blessing to us and her team as well! Being able to celebrate with our family and friends at a place that added such beauty and magic was what I wanted! I always say to Ms. Gioja that her place makes you feel at peace, being away from the business of this world and to be surrounded by sounds of nature. What a feeling?! Thank you for taking the time to read my review and if you're thinking about having your event at Pine Ridge Farms, you will not regret it!!!”

“We could not have asked for a more beautiful, inclusive, and accessible venue! Knowing that the vast majority of our guests would have to fly in to our wedding, no matter where we had it, it was important to us that we had a venue we could book for the whole weekend. Combined with all of the amenities Wylder offers, it was a no-brainer. The wedding weekend would not have gone as smoothly as it did without the incredible staff, particularly Andrea and Faith. From the moment of our first phone call until we were leaving the farewell brunch, they took care of us every step of the way. Everyone was so welcoming and accommodating, and Wylder truly felt like our home for the weekend. Highly recommend if you want a beautiful venue (with a lovely rain/cold weather location, which we ended up using), incredible food, and great service!”

“One of the most beautiful things that came out of the weekend was watching our friends become friends with each other. People who had been complete strangers before our wedding are now flying to visit each other without even needing us to be there. What more could you ask for? The Maples gave everyone the space to relax, connect, laugh, and actually be together for an entire weekend - and that is something we never could have created anywhere else. What makes The Maples even more special is the community Katie has built around it. The relationships she has formed with people throughout the town and upstate are priceless, and they became such an important part of our wedding experience. These aren't just vendors on a preferred-vendor list—they are incredible people who genuinely care. We sent our wedding guests to Middleburgh Coffee Company during the weekend for coffee, and the owner, Dasha, hand-delivered honey from her bees to us the day after our wedding as a thank-you. In what world does that happen?! Rob from Rob's Roasts sent bags of coffee to our apartment before the wedding so we could taste different roasts and choose what we wanted. Brian from the Dumpling Wagon let us sample everything during one of our planning meetings with Katie. Paloma, our florist, absolutely blew us away - we were genuinely speechless the first time we saw what she had created at the reception, and Katie's vision for the pavilion was pure magic. And the care didn't stop when the wedding started. Our bar stayed open an extra 15 minutes just for us. At our family croquet party and welcome party the day before, Richard from Bars Without Boundaries stayed open for the entire time, foregoing our scheduled 3 hour break and would literally come out and hand-deliver drinks to us in the middle of a croquet game. Our photographer, Shelby, stayed an entire extra hour because she wanted to capture our T-shirt toss and sent us previews that same night. These little things might sound small, but they are exactly what made the entire weekend feel so unbelievably special. We had so many guests tell us that it was the best and most authentic wedding they had ever attended. That word - authentic - means so much to us because that was exactly what we wanted. We wanted a wedding that felt like us, and Katie somehow understood that from our very first conversation. We would not change a single thing. If you are considering The Maples Estate, choose it. Choose Katie and Louis. You will have the most beautiful, joyful, completely personal wedding imaginable, and you will get to actually enjoy every second of it. We cannot recommend them highly enough. Our wedding weekend was truly utter magic, and we will be forever grateful to Katie, Louis, their incredible team, and the entire community they've built around The Maples for giving us the best weekend of our lives.”

Tim the Banquet manager was always around ready to make sure it all ran smoothly. Ryan the lift operations manager kept Brittany updated on the weather day of and when it didn’t look good at the bottom he drove up to make sure he truly had say no to us going to the summit (it was 30 degrees with 45 kt winds) he and his crew opened the lift for 2 hours the next day so we could still get our summit pictures and they all had smiles on their faces. “We had our wedding at Hotel Lilien in October, and the experience truly could not have been more wonderful. The atmosphere is incredibly warm and inviting, it felt like our own little home away from home. Our guests are still talking about how unique the venue was and how perfectly “us” it felt, which meant so much to us. What set the experience apart was the incredible team, especially Jules. Working with her was an absolute joy. She was attentive, organized, and genuinely invested in making our wedding everything we hoped it would be. When we had a less-than-favorable experience with our planner, Jules stepped in without hesitation and completely took control of the situation. She handled everything with professionalism and grace, allowing us to feel fully supported and at ease on our wedding day. I cannot recommend Hotel Lilien enough for couples looking for an intimate, memorable, and beautifully run wedding experience. We will always be grateful to the team for going above and beyond for us and look forward to going back and reminiscing about our perfect weekend!”

“The Lucy Brate Barn at Mead Family Farm was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the moment we reached out, they were quick to respond, flexible, and accommodating. The venue itself is stunning, with a scenic, historic, and peaceful setting that made our special day feel truly magical. They handled every detail in a calm, professional manner, making our day seamless and helping us stay relaxed. They truly listened to our vision. It was perfect to have the ceremony outside because the setting is so beautiful. However, we had a rain plan that would have been equally lovely. We had a mobile bar that pulled up right outside the barn, and our guests simply walked outside to get a drink. Nancy and team put up a tent right next to the bar, with lounge chairs and bar tables. We had the barn doors open the entire evening, which provided a nice breeze and allowed our guests to mingle outside and still feel part of the gathering. They were there throughout the wedding day and helped with all the vendors, which made it much easier for us. I can't imagine having our wedding anywhere else - they are so accommodating and gracious, and we are so grateful to have had our wedding in such a special place.”

“Seven Ponds Farm is the first and only venue that my fiance and I toured. We weren't even set on getting married within the next year, but we happened to find Seven Ponds online and figured we would tour. We fell in love immediately. We knew we wanted a few things out of whatever space we found: 1) somewhere we could have a weekend event with onsite accommodations, 2) good food and beverage, and 3) beautiful scenery. Seven Ponds was all of this and more. They have streamlined the planning process so that you truly do not need a wedding planner, and with food and beverage being included in the package, it's just that much less to plan. We got to the venue on Thursday and were able to enjoy the house, swim in the pond, and prep the space at our leisure. The day of, everything went seamlessly thanks to their stellar team of coordinators and staff. Guests are still telling me what a perfect day it was. Min and Morten (the owners) are so kind and are genuinely invested in making sure you are happy with everything. Book this venue, I promise you will not regret it!!”

Twelve Ponds is a 105 acre private estate wedding venue in the Catskills, where ponds, wildflower meadows, a restored farmhouse, a barn, and a stone arch look out over open hills. We host one wedding at a time, and every booking is a full-weekend buyout. The property is yours Friday through Sunday, so the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, the reception, and a slow Sunday morning by the water all happen in one place. No shared grounds, no six-hour window that rushes you through your own wedding. Couples marry in the meadow, at the pond, or at the arch depending on the season and the light. Fall brings color across the hills, and summer evenings run long and gold. Bring the caterer you love. We have a full commercial kitchen and supply all the tables, chairs, plates, glassware and cutlery for any occasion. Twelve Ponds is for couples who want a wedding weekend, not a wedding day. Send your date and guest count and we’ll tell you honestly whether we’re the right fit.

From our first conversation with Jaime, we knew we were in good hands—she was professional, responsive, and genuinely warm throughout the entire planning process. “Before the wire event center opened up, I remember seeing posts on Facebook about an event venue opening up in Coxsackie. I remember being instantly intrigued and put it on my dream wedding list. Then the space opened and I saw some pics of the completed space and again put it on my dream wedding list. Then started to see pictures of weddings at the wire and again put it on my dream wedding list. Fast forward to when I got engaged and consulted my dream wedding list and saw I had this place listed 3 times. It seemed pretty clear this was where our wedding had to be. I am so glad we went with the wire. The space is absolutely beautiful - whether you are indoors or outdoors. The cocktail space versus the reception space give you different feels but are equally beautiful. Not to mention it’s super convenient to have the venue space right next to your hotel, and the ability to have your rehearsal dinner and after party at the tavern next door. You never have to leave the area! The bridal suite for getting ready is gorgeous and roomy and perfect for your hair and make up artists. It is a little bit of a splurge for the venue fee but honestly was worth it for the access you have within the space. My only real critique is it could be a little difficult to get in communication with the team at times cause how busy they’d be with wedding season. While it is very understandable, it also seemed to take them significantly longer to respond than any other wedding vendor we used. I think it hopefully is just growing pains as they had some changes in the overall team over the course of our planning. In the end, even if responses took some time, everything we needed and wanted was handled so it in no way makes us second guess our decision. We loved the space, our day was perfect and we are so glad we went with the wire!”

“My wedding experience at Birch Hill was incredible, and I owe so much of that to Serena and her amazing team! We started the booking process in early March, hoping for a September/October wedding date, and thankfully found one that worked. Serena was an absolute goddess from start to finish—she gave us a thorough tour of all the location options, answered every question, and made the entire process feel effortless. We knew almost immediately that no other venue would compare! Since we were on a tight timeline, I reached out to Serena frequently with questions, and she always responded promptly and thoroughly. By our 90-day planning meeting, we were already so comfortable with everything, and Serena guided us seamlessly through food choices (of which there were so many!) and other details. Her expertise really shone through when I wasn’t sure about certain things; she made it all so simple and stress-free. On the big day, I felt so confident in Serena and her team—it was like everything was taken care of before I could even think about it. I truly felt like I had nothing to worry about and could be fully present in every moment, which made the day even more magical. They thought of every detail, big and small, allowing me to simply enjoy and soak it all in. Speaking of the food—it was hands down the best meal I’ve ever had! We chose the Cocktail Style package and went with a wide range of options, including crispy calamari with lemon-garlic aioli, French onion soup, cider bacon-wrapped chicken, pulled pork wonton bites, and mini grilled cheeses with tomato soup shooters, among others. Every single bite was phenomenal! The prime rib was cooked to perfection, and the mashed potato bar and pasta station were crowd favorites. Our guests raved about the gourmet French fry station that we had later in the night. While we handpicked the items, I genuinely believe that anything else on their menu would have been just as amazing—the quality and flavors were out of this world. At the end of the night, everything was packed up perfectly and already in my car before I even stopped partying! If I had to give any constructive feedback, it would be about the bridal suite. It was a very warm day for late September, and the air conditioning hadn’t been turned on before we arrived, so the suite was quite hot initially. Other than that, our ceremony by the pond was absolutely beautiful. While the mosquitos and some goose droppings were a minor annoyance, the setting was otherwise perfect and so romantic. All in all, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Serena’s commitment and attention to detail made our wedding truly unforgettable!”

“Choosing to have our wedding at Camp Timber Lake was probably the single most important decision we made during the planning process. The camp setting gave us the opportunity to create something far more immersive, personal, and joyful than we had imagined, and the camp / Gatheround staff and everyone involved in the planning process gave us the ability to execute on making all our dreams come true! In the months leading up to the wedding, we worked closely with Will, who was incredibly friendly, responsive, and on top of every detail. He always made time to talk through our many questions and helped accommodate some of our more unconventional requests—from having Camp Timber Lake cater our Sunday reception dinner (which we highly recommend!) to brainstorming the best locations for a nighttime game of kick the can. The camp itself is absolutely beautiful and was perfectly manicured for our arrival. There were endless activities for our guests to enjoy, and the staff placed sports equipment throughout the property so everyone could immediately jump into whatever interested them. Our guests had so much fun exploring the grounds, tossing frisbees and footballs, shooting hoops, and making the camp their own for the weekend. The staff including Reggie, Scott, Liz, Willow, Marcie, and so many others, were AMAZING. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the weekend special. Scott and Liz stayed on top of every detail, and the entire team continually went above and beyond to make our guests feel welcome and cared for. When one of our guests lost her phone in the dining hall after hours, the team turned the lights back on and helped her search for it. After she mentioned that she was having trouble turning on the heat in her cabin, they walked over to help, then returned 15 minutes later with brownies and ice cream for her and her cabin-mates as a nice surprise. Another favorite moment happened on the dance floor Saturday night. We had brought bubble guns but realized too late that they required batteries we didn’t have. We’d given up on using them, but when Willow (one of the camp staff) overheard a friend say, “I wish we had batteries for these bubble guns.” he went and tracked down batteries from TV remotes around the camp on his own accord and got the bubble guns working. They ended up being a huge hit! Moments like these, and so many others, made us feel completely at home and made our guests feel incredibly well cared for. The food was also outstanding. We received rave reviews about every meal. The team went out of its way to accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions, providing hearty vegan and vegetarian options at every meal. They even prepared a special plate every meal for my mom, who has an autoimmune disorder that prevents her from eating most spices. The team also decorated dishes with edible flowers and made everything look beautiful. For our reception dinner on the final night, they even came up with the idea of displaying leftover Boy Scout patches from one of our weekend activities along the buffet counter. It was the perfect thoughtful touch. We had multiple guests tell us that this was their favorite wedding they had ever attended, and Camp Timber Lake (and the wonderful people who run it) were a huge reason why. Thank you for giving us and our guests such a magical, joyful, and unforgettable weekend. It truly was the best weekend of our lives! Can’t recommend this wedding venue enough!”

“Can’t say enough about the Kenmore Ballroom and the people who run it! My daughter was a covid bride and this venue was still under construction when she was first engaged and because we had to postpone her wedding, we were lucky to secure a date at the brand-new Kenmore Ballroom. Katie and Nate went above and beyond in every way – we were one of their largest guest counts that the venue had yet hosted and they didn’t miss a step! We enjoyed working with them as they were available for our many questions during the planning process. On the day - we were awed seeing our daughter and son-in-law enjoying their first dance together at the top of the beautifully restored grand staircase under the spectacular light from the floor to ceiling windows and sparkling chandelier. They even coordinated our after party turning the onsite bar area into a Irish pub! They have so much experience and unique ideas for planning any type of event I highly recommend the Kenmore Ballroom and Katie and Nate! Not to mention the benefit of having the best wedding planner – Katie O Weddings and Events – thanks again Katie and Nate - from a grateful mother and father of the bride!”

“We had a roundabout journey to The Caboose, but I couldn't be happier that it's where we landed for our wedding in September '25. From the jump, we appreciated the gorgeous space, their commitment to doing right by the planet, and the affiliation with Kitty's—some of our favorite food in Hudson. The combination of a beautiful garden and stunning indoor space made us feel like we were safe no matter the weather. Every time we visited, the garden got better. We loved how lush and colorful it was for our day. We enjoyed working with Caitlin, the venue manager. She was creative and flexible and willing to work with us to do a few things a little differently (like have the ceremony in a different spot in the garden). The food was truly incredible—we still have people raving about it! We appreciated that because we were right on the edge seasonally, we were able to choose the summer menu instead of the one for fall, which felt just right for the day's weather and feeling. Because we had our tasting in February, we weren't able to try most of the items we had, but we trusted we were in good hands—and we definitely were. The kitchen team was also incredibly accommodating with our guest's dietary restrictions—everyone felt very cared for, which is what we hoped for the most! We had live music as well as a DJ and everything sounded truly great in the space. The staff working on our day was SO kind and helpful—people made mention of how warm everyone was, too. I saw many a chitchat at the bar, just because they were so lovely! Just a note, too, that while The Caboose was pricey, we were totally amazed by the value and all that they take care of. We looked at dozens of venues—from full-service spots to DIY operations—and kept coming back to the mix of creativity, value, and quality that The Caboose offered. The fact that they take care of the food, drinks, furniture rentals, lighting, sound system, and staff—and all at such a high caliber—unheard of! We truly couldn't have done it without them. “The Inn at West Settlement was the perfect place for our wedding. Photos can’t even begin to capture the magic of this place. There are flowers EVERYWHERE, the mountains and trees are stunning, and the barn has such a unique charm. Kim is lovely and worked with us very well to make sure our wedding ran smoothly. The rest of the team at The Inn at West Settlement is also AMAZING. We loved working with them and just getting to know them as people. One thing to note is that communication with many of the Catskills vendors we worked with is much easier through phone calls rather than email! That was a learning curve for us - as Gen Z girls, we’re so used to doing almost all our communication via email or text. We used Kim’s recommended vendors for everything and loved every one of them. The food by Stacy was absolutely incredible, dessert (also by Stacy) was beautiful and delicious, our DJ Max (recommended by Kim) was perfect and so easy to work with, the bartending team was so fun and on top of everything, and our photographer Liz who we found through Kim’s recommendation was amazing. One of our favorite things about the weekend was getting to help make the magic happen on Friday. We all had so much fun going through the cutting garden & picking flowers for the bouquets, boutonnieres, and table arrangements. They have so many great decor items (tea light holders, frames, window panes & chalkboards for signage) in their prop room - definitely a major perk of the venue & makes for a fun day-before selecting and setting up your decor! I can’t say enough about how much we loved getting married at The Inn at West Settlement. There is something magical about this place and we are so grateful that we got to celebrate our wedding there. I truly cannot recommend this place enough!”
