The Historic Hangar at Pearson Air Museum
Rating: 4.0 (1 review)
Vancouver, WA
  • Up to 300 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $480

Please reach out to us directly at our Fort Vancouver National Historic Site website (see globe icon below). The Historic Hangar is situated within Fort Vancouver National Historic Site (N.H.S.) and is adjacent to Pearson Air Museum. Fort Vancouver N.H.S. is one of the few urban National Parks, located in downtown Vancouver, Washington, and just seven miles from downtown Portland, Oregon. This Nationally Registered Historic Building was built in 1921 and was operated by the U.S. Army Signal Corps' Spruce Production Corporation. In 1924, the Army Air Service moved the building to its present location. The Historic Hangar's character and glamour of bygone eras has quickly become a favorite amongst the community. The white interior, exposed wood beams, and gorgeous view of the park grounds makes for a unique venue that can easily host any special event.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Natural elegance with open spaces
  • Space for a large guest list
  • Raw space for complete customization

Venue considerations

  • Lighting and sound are not included
  • Additional event staff required
  • No dedicated areas for getting ready
“We got married just about a year ago in the old hangar at Pearson and it was perfect! We hired a live jazz band and had the hangar doors open, timing our entry with sunset behind the Fort, and it was everything I wanted. The hangar is already white and made a great blank canvas, and it has those incandescent-look patio lights hanging up inside. We had about 70 people that attended, plus the 25-person big band. The only 2 tricks were that you can't "permanently" attach anything to walls or anything, so we made some weighted window-sill decorations for the windows on the south wall, and we did have to bring our own sound system for speechifying. The only complaints I had were that we had to dispose of our own trash (which was just kind of strange for a venue IMHO since it's such a big park) and that the outside walls were just... filthy with cobwebs, dry grass, etc. so it didn't make a great backdrop for photos. I wanted to enter through the back door, so there's not a lot of photos of outside (we also had photographer issues, but that's a different thing entirely!).”

“Weddings in the Barn at Owl & Olive was the perfect venue for our rustic, barn-themed wedding. The communication with the staff was not the fastest, but they were helpful and responsive throughout the planning process. The quality of their work and the value they provided was amazing - the venue was beautiful with a lovely rustic aesthetic, and they had the chairs and tables staged on the day of the wedding, which made the process much easier. However, one downside was that we didn't get the day before the wedding to decorate, so we had to rush to get everything set up on the day of. Overall, we were thrilled with Weddings in the Barn at Owl & Olive and would highly recommend it to any couple looking for a stunning, rustic wedding venue.”

We rented The Cave - their smaller outdoor venue - and it fit our vision for the day perfectly. It felt rustic and secluded without having to drive an hour outside of Portland, and it was simply gorgeous. Natasha who we worked with for the year in the lead up was phenomenal - we felt listened to and taken care of with her. We're so happy to have had our special day at the Aerie!!”

We live very close by so we were able to have multiple onsite meetings with Chris which was such a nice -above and beyond- special touch. Nearly anything we asked for, like a change in napkin color a couple of days before the wedding, was accommodated with a smile. The lower level ceremony space was sooooo worth it for the photos in late fall. The venue was great and the day was more special than I could’ve imagined AND within our budget!”
