My heart is FULL and I’m still in the glow of the event… even weeks later! From the wedding ceremony to the last dance the event was magical! Every detail was thoughtfully curated: twinkle lights at the deep-forest ceremony, lavender sachets as thank you’s for guests, lawn games and conversation areas for deeper connection among friends and family, and whimsical decorations everywhere. (To name just a few). Of particular note is the view from the event space. Moon Gully has a wonderful view of the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range.

Magical falls short of describing the feeling of being at The Barnvue at Moon Gully. An event space that embraces the senses and enlightens one’s soul. Beautifully set on a hilltop property where the owner’s, Jason and Dia Taylor poured their hearts and souls to make a unique space for those wanting something beyond the ordinary. The Barnvue, a converted barn, is an intimate yet functional space that tailors to those seeking a memorable experience. The grounds and landscaping are a stunning backdrop to a Moon that rising to the left of the property that creates a stunning view; hence the name “Moon Gully”. This unique and beautiful venue is a gem to be experienced!

I had the honor of being the first big event that was hosted at this new location. The owners were extremely accommodating and responsive. They allowed me to pick a ceremony spot in the woods on this property and once I chose a place they adjusted the landscaping to accommodate for the event. I had only about 30 people attend the ceremony. Getting married in the woods in Oregon gave it an ethereal, beautiful feel that honestly turned out even better than I had expected. For the reception, I had about 102 guests, and they were able to accommodate this by opening up the folding glass doors on one side and having tables inside and outside and hung curtains on the west side of the porch area to keep guests from getting blasted by the setting sun. I also was wanted lawn games for kids and interested adults to have as an option and they made sure they had plenty of options(giant jenga, corn hole, bocce ball, giant connect four, and a couple others I think). I think this was especially a huge hit with kids and the more introverted guests. Additionally, they had multiple areas with outdoor furniture that allowed people different areas to sit and relax and chat, I found all of these areas occupied when the sun started setting and people enjoying chatting with each other. The bar inside the venue is small but was able to accommodate what we needed it for, we purchased two smaller kegs(one cider, one beer) since they had two taps at the bar, and some wine for the wine cooler and we had two different juice options. This was cool since we didn’t want to purchase too much alcohol but still gave our guests options. The venue owners also connected me to a flower vendor who was very friendly and a lot cheaper than other flower vendors, and he was located 10 minutes down the road from the venue which made pick up easy. They also have a walk in cooler so we were able to store flowers and food items until they were needed. All in all, they day went better than I expected, having as big of a family as I do, I’m almost always expecting things to go wrong but everything went so smoothly and was such a dream!
