About this venue

The Historic Hangar is situated within Fort Vancouver National Historic Site (N.H.S.) and is adjacent to Pearson Air Museum. Fort Vancouver N.H.S. is one of the few urban National Parks, located in downtown Vancouver, Washington, and just seven miles from downtown Portland, Oregon. This Nationally Registered Historic Building was built in 1921 and was operated by the U.S. Army Signal Corps' Spruce Production Corporation. In 1924, the Army Air Service moved the building to its present location. The Historic Hangar's character and glamour of bygone eras has quickly become a favorite amongst the community. The white interior, exposed wood beams, and gorgeous view of the park grounds makes for a unique venue that can easily host any special event.

Historic Hangar

Historic, spacious, and located on the beautiful grounds of Fort Vancouver NHS, the Historic Hangar at Pearson Air Museum is a unique venue!

The Historic Hangar is versatile and spacious and can comfortably accommodate 300 guests. The west facing large hangar doors can be fully opened, creating an indoor/outdoor flow between the Historic Hangar and an adjacent 2700 square foot patio. Lovely views of the park's vast greenspace and reconstructed Fort Vancouver can be seen from the Historic Hangar and the patio.

Room cost

Minimum 4-hour rental time. Weekdays (Monday through Thursday): $120 per day time hour between 7 am to 5 pm. $200 per evening hour between 5 pm to 11 pm. Weekends and Holidays (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays): $325 per hour between 6 am to 12 am.

January, February, March, April, May, October, and November. We do not increase the rates during peak season, rather we have a weekday (Mon-Thurs) and weekend (Friday-Sunday, plus holidays) rate. Rentals are limited in December and early January due to federal holidays and park closures. Reservations may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Please inquire for more details.
Yes. However, all alcohol must be served by a licensed Washington state bartender. Liquor liability insurance and a Washington State Banquet permit are required. Please inquire for more information.
Yes! The Historic Hangar has convenient access to hundreds of free parking spots. The museum’s 47 parking spaces are available, except the first 12 during museum hours. There are hundreds of readily available spaces along nearby E 5th Street, and two new parking lots on the corner of E 5th Street and Fort Vancouver Way.
Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible. There are ramps from the parking lot to the main entrance, hearing-impaired fire alarm lights, and trained staff. If preferred, guests may be driven all the way up to the entrance door of the venue and dropped off. Additional access may be granted through Pearson Air Museum. Please inquire for details.
Private access to the Historic Hangar and adjacent patios. Pre-installed ceiling string lights, rectangular and round tables, cocktail tables, 2 table risers (used to create a bar when attached to a table), 3 trash cans and 2 recycling bins (renter is responsible for disposal), basic cleaning supplies, and 2 indoor ADA restrooms. A staff member will be available at all times for any questions about the venue. Setup and cleanup are the responsibility of the renter.

The following is not included with rental: Audio and visuals (A/V) equipment, linens, pipe and drape, trash & recycling disposal (carry-in, carry-out policy). Setup and cleanup are the responsibility of the renter.
