About this venue

The Troutdale House boasts rustic charm while maintaining flexibility and 5-star customer service for their clients. Located in downtown Troutdale, Oregon, it is a convenient location for guests only 20 minutes from Portland and right off I-84. The Troutdale House offers seven different ceremony options with two of the outside options being covered and heated so you can married outside year-round. Other amenities include two dressing rooms, tables, chairs, linens, decorations, onsite staff, and so much more! We only host one event a day and with 10-hour blocks of time, you will have more than enough time to set up, get ready, and host your event! Clean-up at the end of the night is a breeze, just pack out what you brought in, throw your garbage away, and we'll do the rest! The Troutdale house provides so much that it is impossible to list it all in this little description.

Wisteria Courtyard

Our most popular spot! Featuring a beautiful wooden trellis with a mature wisteria plant.

The Wisteria Courtyard is our most popular ceremony spot. Not only is it beautiful, but it is also functional with a fully covered roof and four gas heaters. So no matter the time of the year, you can get married outside. The wisteria plant covers the area and blooms with purple and white flowers in April/May. Seats up to 200 guests for the wedding ceremony and fits up to 10 tables to give an additional 100 seats for reception.

The Wine Cellar is a multi-functional space. It functions as a ceremony option with brick walls and a brick arch for a gorgeous and authentic backdrop for your wedding vows. It can also function as additional reception seating for your guests, a dazzling backdrop for group photos, or a place to host your cocktail hour. This space has it all!

Bridal Park - Antique Doors

Beautiful antique doors with mature trees overhead.

Bridal Park features a set up of antique doors to set the perfect backdrop for your vows. Your guests will be protected from the sun by the tall mature trees that hang overhead providing a canopy of natural greenery, filtering the sunlight, and casting dappled shadows on the ground below.

The Enchanted Ballroom

A spacious and magical spot that will leave your guests in awe.

The Enchanted Ballroom is another multifunctional spot. It is our main reception area, but can also be set up as an indoor ceremony spot. Crystal chandeliers adorn the 11-foot ceilings, casting a warm glow on the space. Your guests will be in awe of original wooden beams adorned with twinkle lights and you'll feel like a princess as you come down the stairs. After your ceremony, you can relax as our staff resets the room for your reception.

    We got married at The Troutdale House By The Sandy River and it was the best choice we could have made. From our first conversation, the team was responsive and genuinely kind, making the entire planning process feel easy and stress-free. What really impressed us was their flexibility—when we wanted to change things on the wedding day itself, they rolled with it and made everything work seamlessly. The venue is stunning, with beautiful grounds and such a charming atmosphere that our guests couldn't stop talking about it. The value we got for what we paid was truly outstanding. Honestly, I would get married there again in a heartbeat.

    Beautifully Unique and Fun for Everyone

    The team at The Troutdale House By The Sandy River were an absolute pleasure to work with throughout our wedding planning process. Their communication style was detailed, personable, friendly and incredibly helpful - they thought of all the little details that inexperienced brides like myself wouldn't have known to ask about. They provided us with so many wonderful ideas and a huge variety of beautiful centerpiece options to choose from, making the process fun and easy. The venue itself was absolutely stunning, with multiple gorgeous ceremony spots within the property (indoors and outdoors) to choose from. We would highly recommend The Troutdale House to any couple looking for a beautiful, unique and stress-free wedding celebration.

    Amazing!

    This venue is absolutely fantastic. The twinkly lights everywhere and beautiful decor made it feel so magical. We got so many compliments afterwards about our choice of venue and we agree! The staff were awesome - super helpful and great communication. We loved being able to bring in whatever vendors we wanted. And there are so many good spots for photographs!! Would get married here again.

    Beautiful Venue - Amazing Staff

    Working with The Troutdale House By The Sandy River was a pleasure from start to finish. Their communication style was reasonable, concise, and incredibly helpful throughout the planning process. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, and we felt it was well worth the investment to host our wedding there. It was a delight working with Casey - she was extremely flexible, took detailed notes on our preferences, and went above and beyond to ensure our day ran smoothly. We also appreciated that they allowed us to take our engagement photos at the venue and quickly transitioned the ceremony space into an extension of our reception area. Also! There are so many different photo opportunities! Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better venue and team to work with on our special day.

Yes, The Troutdale House has 32 parking spots. Additional parking is located on the west side of the building, running behind the businesses in downtown Troutdale. There is also additional parking on the East side of the building in the Depot Park parking lot. All parking is free of charge.
We have an open vendor policy at The Troutdale House. While we have vendors that we have worked with and can recommend, we do not require that you only use these vendors.
When you reserve The Troutdale House for your event, your event is the only one we will have that day. We want your day to be perfect, so we focus on one wedding at a time.
No, unfortunately they do not post the freight train schedule due to national security. Everyday is different.
We suggest that you have food at a different location on the night of your rehearsal. Our rehearsals are 1 hour and we have several things to talk about and practice during that time. There will be other bridal groups before or after your group. Please do not bring alcohol to your rehearsal!
We provide paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap, trash cans, trash bags. Mops and brooms as needed. Basic cleaning supplies. We also provide some drink dispensers, 52 oz coffee maker/dispenser (built in filter), 500 lbs ice machine on site and keg/beverage tubs.
No, unfortunately our fire system will not allow it.
No, due to the safety of guests and our building, these things are not allowed.
Yes, The Troutdale House is accessible to those requiring accommodations. The only room that is not accessible is the top floor that houses the bridal suite.
Of course! We are animal friendly and welcome all animals to our facility. We ask that you keep animals off of the furniture and clean up any messes that may occur.
Our event day is 10 hours (unless otherwise noted), that includes set-up, ceremony/reception and clean-up. How you want to use your 10 hour block of time is up to you, but the latest we are open is 2am (clean-up start time of 1am).
No, we can’t hold a date or offer a first right of refusal. If you would like to move forward with booking a date, we will need a half down payment of the venue fee and your $400 security deposit, plus your signed contract turned in to officially reserve the date for you.
You will pay the price that is listed when you sign and execute your contract, not when you tour the venue.
Yes, real candles are allowed, but they must be in a holder with the flame at least an inch below the top of the holder. No real candles in outdoor areas (except on reception seating tables) or walking areas. Lit, taper candles are not allowed anywhere on venue property (exception for unity candles during the ceremony).
No, we do not allow our twinkle lights to be removed. The process of putting these items up/removing them is significantly time-consuming. We allow you to add decorations and lights to the post as long as it doesn’t damage what is already there.

Yes, The Troutdale House has a private parking lot with 32 available spaces. Plus, there is available parking (free of charge) to the East and West of the venue. We are fortunate that parking is something our clients and their guests don't have to stress over!
Yes, the main floor and downstairs are ADA-accessible. Our top-floor bridal suite is the only area of the venue not ADA-accessible.
