About Argyle & Lace Photography

Argyle & Lace Photography

Husband & Wife Photography Duo

Your wedding day will go by faster than you expect. But, your photos will be what brings you back. Not just to how everything looked, but to the way your partner looked at you. The way your parents held you a little longer. The laughter you missed, the tears you didn’t see, and the people you love gathered together in one place. We’re Daniel and Leslie of Argyle & Lace. We met as friends and coworkers, and over time, that friendship grew into a life together. It’s why we value stories that unfold over time and photos that mean more as the years pass. We want to do more than photograph your wedding. We want to understand your story.

Before the wedding day, we learn how you met, what you love about each other, which relationships matter most, and what you never want to forget. We’ll give guidance when it helps, and space when it doesn’t, so you feel comfortable without your wedding becoming a photo shoot. We’ll create timeless portraits while watching for what no one could plan: a glance, a laugh, a tear, and the people you love being themselves. The result is wedding photography that doesn’t just show you what happened. It brings you back to how it felt. If that’s what you want from your wedding photos, we’d love to hear your story. Tell us how the two of you met.

Absolutely. In fact, most of our couples tell us some version of, “We’re not good at pictures.” Here’s the good news: you don’t need to be. That’s our job. We’ll give you clear direction when you need it, create movement and interaction so things never feel stiff, and make small adjustments that help you look your best without turning you into someone you’re not. And when a real moment starts unfolding? We know when to stop directing and simply let it happen. You don’t need to practice posing before your wedding. You just need photographers who know how to make you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourselves.
Before we ever pick up a camera, we want to understand your story: how you met, what you love about one other, the people who matter most, the moments you never want to forget. Two weddings at the same venue with the same timeline will still mean completely different things to each couple. What you share with us genuinely shapes how we photograph your day. If family is the center of your world, we’re watching those relationships. If you value quiet connection, we’re paying attention to the subtle moments. If you love bold, editorial imagery, we make intentional space to create it. Beautiful photos aren’t enough if they don’t feel like you.
Because we can’t intentionally photograph what matters most to you if we don’t know what that is. A wedding can hold dozens of stories at once. While you’re exchanging vows, your parents are reacting. Your wedding party is remembering how your relationship began. A loved one may have traveled across the country just to be in that room. We take the time to know you because that knowledge changes what we notice. We’ll always bring our experience, our artistic perspective, and our own way of seeing. But your wedding photos shouldn’t be based only on what we think is beautiful. They should preserve what you will find meaningful years from now.
Both - because forcing you to choose between beautiful portraits and genuine moments is a false choice. We’ll give you direction when direction helps. We’ll think intentionally about light, composition, movement, and the way you interact so you can look incredible without feeling stiff or overly posed. But your wedding isn’t a photo shoot. When the real moments happen - the glance, the laugh, the shaky breath, the unexpected hug - we don’t interrupt them to manufacture something “better.” Our goal is a gallery that feels both beautifully intentional and emotionally honest.
Years of photographing weddings have taught us that capturing meaningful moments isn’t just about reacting quickly, it’s about anticipating what might happen next. During vows, we’re watching for the parent who may tear up. During toasts, we’re looking for the people who will laugh hardest. Experience teaches us to read a room, recognize relationships, anticipate reactions, and be ready before a moment unfolds. Sometimes the photographs you treasure most are of moments you never even knew took place.
For family groupings and specific must-have photos? Absolutely. We want to know who matters and make sure they aren’t missed. For the candid moments that may happen throughout the day? That’s where we ask you to trust us. A checklist can make photographers so focused on recreating certain images that they miss the real story unfolding in front of them. We’d much rather understand why certain people, relationships, traditions, or details matter to you, then photograph with that knowledge in mind. So tell us about Grandma. The friend who introduced you. Why that heirloom matters. Those stories help us recognize the moment when it happens.
Honestly? It probably won’t - and that’s okay. Timelines shift. Weather changes. Buttons break. Someone gets stuck in traffic. A flower girl decides she is absolutely not walking down that aisle. Our job isn’t to add stress when real life happens. It’s to stay calm, adapt quickly, protect what matters most, and keep creating through whatever the day gives us. Some of the most meaningful photographs happen in the moments no one could have planned. We’ll help where we can, adjust when we need to, and never make you feel like your wedding is “ruined” because the schedule changed.
We don’t panic - and we don’t want you to spend your wedding day staring anxiously at a weather app. Rain changes the plan; it doesn’t erase the possibility of beautiful photos. We’ll look at the light, the location, the timing, and the options available to us, then adapt. Sometimes that means finding beautiful covered spaces. Sometimes it means waiting for a break in the weather. And sometimes, if you’re game, it means embracing the rain and creating something unforgettable. You only get one wedding day. Our goal is to help you stay present for it, not make you feel like beautiful photographs depend on perfect weather.
Every wedding is different, making an exact number difficult to promise. Some hours are packed; the ceremony, cocktail hour, a full dance floor. Others move at a slower pace. Because of that, the number of photos can vary significantly. As a general reference, we typically deliver at least 50-75 images per hour of coverage, but we don’t work with a quota in mind. Our priority is to tell the story fully and thoughtfully, without holding back meaningful images or filling a gallery with duplicates just to hit a number. You’ll receive a carefully edited gallery that reflects the people, moments, emotions, and details that made your day yours.
You won’t have to wait long to relive a little of it. Within 48 hours of your wedding, we’ll send you a collection of sneak peeks so you can revisit some of those first moments while everything still feels fresh - and, of course, have beautiful images to share with the people already asking to see them. Your complete wedding gallery is guaranteed within 6-8 weeks, though we always aim to deliver sooner when possible. We know these photographs carry a lot of anticipation. We also believe they deserve the time and care required to edit them thoughtfully and consistently from beginning to end.
From the moment we press the shutter, protecting your photos is part of the job. We photograph with multiple professional cameras equipped with dual memory card slots, which means your images are written to two cards in-camera for immediate redundancy. After your wedding, we create two additional copies right away. One is stored locally and another is stored in our private cloud, giving us multiple copies in multiple locations rather than relying on a single hard drive or memory card. We also retain your photos indefinitely. Your wedding day can’t be recreated, and we believe the way your photographs are protected should reflect that.
This is one of those questions no couple wants to think about, but every professional photographer should be prepared to answer. If a serious emergency prevented us from photographing your wedding, we would not leave you scrambling. We have a trusted network of experienced professional photographers we can call on for emergency coverage, and our contract reflects our responsibility to help secure a replacement. No honest photographer can promise emergencies never happen. What we can promise is that we take our responsibility seriously, have a professional network to lean on, and have a plan for the unexpected.
We recommend reaching out as soon as you know you’d like to work with us, especially for popular spring and fall dates. We only accept one wedding per date, so availability can change quickly. That said, there’s no such thing as “too late” to ask! We occasionally have dates available on shorter notice. If our work feels like what you’ve been looking for, send us a message. We’d much rather check your date than have you assume we’re already booked.
Absolutely. A 30% non-refundable retainer reserves your wedding date, and the remaining balance is due two weeks before the wedding. Between those dates, we can break the balance into whatever payment schedule works best for you - monthly, a few larger payments, or something else that fits your plans. Weddings come with enough logistics already, so we want paying for your photography to feel clear, flexible, and manageable.
Absolutely! Every full wedding includes an engagement session; for elopements, they’re available as an add-on. Beyond beautiful photos, it’s our chance to get to know each other and help you feel comfortable with us before the wedding. You’ll spend more time with your photographer than almost any other vendor, and we want to feel like trusted friends, not strangers with cameras. Even if you’ve already had engagement photos taken, we still highly encourage a couples session with us. That familiarity makes a real difference when the wedding day arrives.
