Original Weddings was incredible from start to finish. Andre and Sean were great to work with. They were super easygoing, professional, and made us feel comfortable the entire time. They captured our wedding beautifully and didn’t miss a single moment that mattered. We also really appreciated that they were able to accommodate an engagement session in LA even though our wedding was in the Bay Area. That flexibility meant a lot to us and made the whole experience feel seamless. On top of that, their turnaround time was amazing. We received our full gallery in just a week and a half, which honestly exceeded all expectations. Couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out, highly recommend!

I am a photographer and artist from the Pacific Northwest with Costa Rican and Scottish roots. My favorite things are dinosaurs, exploring new cities, board games, soccer, National Parks, and whiskey. I have been fortunate to photograph 200+ weddings in my PNW home, to ruins in Scotland, cityscapes in Vietnam, to the beaches of Maui, and beyond! I live in Portland, Oregon with my two dogs and three cats | 🏳️‍🌈🦖⛰️✈️📸⚽🫶🏼🌈🌲🦕🏝 Fun Fact: I was born on Leap Year Day so I'm 9 years old 🥳!

Awarded Best of Zola
I could write a book about Leah; or at least a very detailed blog post but I'll try to keep it shorter! As a fellow professional photographer, I got the opportunity to meet Leah and work with her as her 2nd photographer on a wedding. It took that one amazing experience and absolute blast of a time to know that whenever it was I got married she was THE photographer for me. Fast forward some years later it was finally my turn to tie the knot and my now husband and I chose our date based on when Leah was available, because there was no other option for me! I have gotten to work with dozens of photographers throughout my going on 10 year career, and I'm telling y'all, it doesn't get better than Leah. The photos - amazing! I love her eye for details, the crispness, the colors! Not to mention she is such a beautiful soul with the best personality and energy, with the professionalism to get a gallery worth of beautiful photos with you barely realizing she's there. While going through our gallery, I was stunned and overjoyed so many times to see things I had NO idea happened or even photos of people that I unfortunately didn't get to spend much time with yet seeing that they still enjoyed themselves. In my opinion, a photographer is the most important vendor you can choose for your wedding day. I am so thankful my experience in the wedding industry allowed me to cross paths with Leah because that made a really important decision very easy for me. And I hope my review can help other soonlyweds out there make a hard decision easier. You will not go wrong choosing Leah to photograph your big day!

Shooting with them literally feels like hanging with your best friends. They were an absolute joy from start to finish, but it was Sharayah’s attention to detail and artistic eye that impressed me above all else. It was inspiring to feel like we were all creating art together, and the photos don’t lie! Our engagement shoot went viral on Instagram, and we got hundreds of comments saying, “these are literally the best engagement photos I’ve ever seen.” I too, agree with that sentiment, but I have to give credit to Hereafter’s vision and execution because they NAILED it. As a team, they’re both extremely communicative and organized, professional yet relaxed in the way they interacted with us and our guests. No one has ever made me feel so comfortable in front of a camera. Additionally, their digital color grading is meticulously adjusted to match 35mm film with incredibly accuracy. They perfectly captured the magic of our special day. We booked them for the whole package - engagement shoot, wedding photos, and wedding video with super 8 film. Their understanding of my vision was remarkable…Hereafter managed to romanticize every single detail in a profound way. The photos are so special to us because each one feels like a standalone piece of art. They went above and beyond for us in every capacity, even going so far as to drive me to the venue on my wedding day when things ran late! We cannot recommend Hereafter Films highly enough. Book them immediately! I promise you, they are worth every single penny and more.

Venture Ever After
Rating: 5.0 (20 reviews)
Portland, OR

  • Starts at $5,200

My name is Nadia. I specialize in elopements + adventure weddings in the Pacific Northwest. I help people have the wedding of their dreams in magical outdoor spaces. When you choose to elope, you’re choosing to get married free of society’s wedding day expectations. So go wild! Spend the entire day in your favorite place, with your favorite person. Wear a fancy outfit, or wear your hiking boots. Invite your dog instead of your mom’s second cousin. Share your first kiss under the stars instead of under an altar. In the great outdoors, you write the wedding rules. And I’m here to help make it an experience you’ll remember for a lifetime.

Awarded Best of Zola
When we began looking for a photographer for our micro-wedding, we gravitated towards Nadia’s images over and over again. Not only did they capture raw, intimate moments between couples and families, but they elevated those moments in elegant and natural landscapes of the PNW; everything we wanted. We reached out and set up a consultation call immediately. We were initially nervous and felt very unprepared to speak with photographers because we had zero ideas for what our special day would look like, but after our call with Nadia we were confident that Venture Ever After was the right choice for us. She was so knowledgeable and did a TON of legwork planning our timeline to best capture the moments we wanted in the lighting we needed, recommending a variety of locations for some private moments as a couple and group activities with our family, and keeping us grounded and calm throughout the entire process. On our wedding day, Nadia took the reigns and gently guided us through the day with compassion and grace. She constantly reminded us that each moment was for us and encouraged us to revel in all of the details. She even conquered some pretty crazy heights armed with multiple cameras and a walky-talky to capture some dramatic and beautiful couple’s portraits. Beyond being an incredible photographer, Nadia is one of the most genuine and kind people I’ve met. She has a knack for keeping elopement/wedding day energy light and helping her clients feel natural in front of the camera. My partner and I truly felt like models. I feel so blessed to have our wedding photographed by her and, above all, be able to call her a friend. I would recommend Nadia at Venture Ever After to everyone planning an elopement, wedding, or adventure in the PNW. In fact, I hope to be able to visit her and capture anniversaries and momentous occasions for our family long into the future.

Modern Art Photograph

Hello! I'm Robert. This is me. Let me tell you a bit about who I am and what I do. Love for photography, I am very passionate about working with my camera. If I am creating a little photo for myself that is never seen publicly or a project for a client, I put everything I have into making the photography I create as best I possibly can. Every click of the shudder is an opportunity for creating amazing photography. Every photo-shoot has options for photographs waiting to be found. Solving these puzzles with my camera and lighting is a lot of fun for me. I believe you can see that also. That's why you are here looking at my work now.

We cannot recommend Robert at Modern Art Photography highly enough! Choosing him as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made. From the very beginning, Robert was professional, reliable, and incredibly easy to work with. He has an amazing eye for authentic moments, and that's exactly what drew us to his style. Instead of making us feel like we were constantly posing, he stayed in the background for much of the day, allowing us to simply be ourselves. He would offer gentle guidance or a cue here and there when needed, but everything felt natural, relaxed, and genuine. Because of his approach, our photos truly capture who we are as a couple. They feel candid, emotional, and full of real moments rather than stiff or overly posed. Looking through our gallery feels like reliving the day exactly as it happened, and that's something we'll treasure forever. Robert is also very reasonably priced for the quality of work he delivers. His equipment is top-notch, his professionalism is outstanding, and he was dependable throughout the entire process. We were also impressed with how quickly he delivered our photos—the turnaround time exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for a photographer who captures authentic, heartfelt moments and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera, Robert is the one. We absolutely love our wedding photos and are so grateful we chose Modern Art Photography. Highly, highly recommend!

Carly from Carlykins Photo was THE BEST! She helped with prep and was so flexible and patient with us throughout the entire wedding planning process. Kyle Carnes Photography

Portland, OR

Hi, I’m Kyle. I’m Northwest born, Portland based, and like to think that I have pines trees sprouting from my skin and sun-soaked glacial runoff coursing through my veins. Aside from photographing weddings, I enjoy strenuous hikes with a view as much as indie flicks, comic books, carving powdery slopes, rock climbing, and Trail Blazers games. I like to share these details because I strongly believe that connecting with the couples I collaborate with is integral to the creative process of photographing a wedding. A strong connection will result in the best images possible.

Awarded Best of Zola
We reached out to Kyle after he did such a great job with our friends’ wedding photos a couple years ago. When we contacted him, he was very responsive. At our first meeting, he was enthusiastic, organized, and asked all kinds of questions to better understand our vision. The day of the ceremony, he helped us add structure to our pre-ceremony process by nailing down clear portrait timelines for each of us. He has an upbeat and easy-going attitude, which helped both of us feel comfortable while posing for portraits. And further, he clearly has a great eye and improvises well, because he was able to incorporate what might have otherwise looked like a mundane neighborhood setting into beautifully lit, unique photos. Kyle took all kinds of creative, moment-catching candid shots during our ceremony and reception that we couldn’t be happier with. When we showed our wedding photos to friends and family afterwards, they consistently expressed surprise and delight at how Kyle was able to capture so many nuanced moments without being intrusive. TL;DR: We love all of our wedding photos and are so grateful to Kyle for sharing his talents with us! If you’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented and ready to celebrate with you, we highly recommend Kyle!

I live in Portland with my little family and I am thankful every day that I get to do something I love as a full time career. I got my BFA in photography from California College of the Arts in 2009, and started shooting weddings shorty after that. I believe there is so much magic in a photograph. It allows something to keep on existing, even after it’s gone. I strive to capture moments authentically but cleverly, using light, color and composition to make things compelling and beautiful. I try to be as candid as possible and use very minimal posing; taking a photojournalistic approach whenever I can.

White Pepper had the joy of collaborating with Terra Lange Photography on a Gorge Crest Vineyards wedding that was ultimately featured on the Wedding Chicks Blog. She was kind and efficient day-of. She knew how to stick to a timeline and also worked well on a team of vendors to execute a wedding that made our client's day the amazing event they had envisioned.

Choosing a photographer to capture one of the most intimate days of you and your partner’s lives is no small feat. I'm here to loudly love on ALL my couples. We are Eric and Amber, a husband and wife wedding photography team with a different story than most. Both of us actually had our own established wedding photography businesses, with years of experience behind us, before we ever met. We found each other at a wedding professionals networking meeting, fell in love, on Valentines Day, no less, and got married 2 years later. Along the way, we merged our 2 businesses into Sightglass Photography.

Awarded Best of Zola
We could not have asked for a better photography team than Amber and Eric! We met them at a friend's wedding, and so loved their vibes and the pictures they captured from our friend's special day. So, when we decided to have our own re-do wedding, we reached out to them immediately. They have been so easy to work with, so much fun, and so professional. They also really took our wishes into consideration, which I really appreciated. For example, we were clear from the outset that we cared the most about getting a million pictures from the dancing at our wedding, and we didn't much care about getting ready pictures. They delivered so hard, and were in the middle of the action all night long, and my husband and I going to treasure these pictures until we die. We also got our photos less than 6 weeks later, which was wonderful. Having now seen their photos from two separate and very different weddings, I am pretty positive that Amber and Eric can do anything, and will do a fantastic job of capturing what makes a particular wedding special. We would hire them again in a heartbeat if we ever decide to do yet another re-do wedding.

Hello! I'm so glad you're here! I genuinely love connecting with people and telling their love stories through photographs in a new and creative way. Life is really lovely and I want to capture it all, even the messy parts. As wedding photographer, I have a passion for documenting human emotion, and every kind of love. All are welcome here. I have a formal background in business but have always leaned into my creative side. I believe you should have beautiful and creative wedding photos - they will be your heirlooms and legacy. I love photos that are simple, the ones that make you feel something.

Awarded Best of Zola
I had a specific vision for our group photos; Gone are the days of generic lined up prom-esque compositions, I want the frame filled with drama and depth (Think Kardashian 2010 Christmas photo or literally any Vanity Fair portrait). Give me an off-centered candid with a paparazzi flash or a dimly lit portrait, not some obligatory stale smile trash that Grandma will surely post on Facebook with the caption “they grow up so fast!” In short: I wanted my wedding photos to look like art - And I told Angelina as much during our first video call. The first thing I noticed about Angelina was her attitude; In sheer contrast to my default deadpan manner, she is a personified cup of coffee in a smilie face mug. She is one of the most positive people I’ve interacted with and acted as one of our biggest cheerleaders leading up to (and during) our wedding. Our engagement shoot was at a local bar where my wife & I had our first date. Angelina listened to my vision and executed a flawless “yes, and…” series of compositions. The turnaround time for preview photos was impressive and satisfied my chronic inability to be patient. We were delighted to receive a gif of our secret handshake. Angelina showed up to both our venue walkthrough and ceremony rehearsal. I appreciated how she treated us like her top priority. By the end of our last zoom call, I felt confident that we were all on the same page with how we wanted our wedding album to look. Angelina dressed appropriately for our wedding dress code, blending in with our guests. She was a welcome presence during our getting ready time. I appreciated how she got extra photos of me and my grandma (who was our flower girl) as requested. She brought a second photographer to cover the ceremony from multiple angles. The additional photographer also covered our cocktail hour while we snuck away for some dramatic sunset shots. There was a point during group photos that I pouted and said something like “I’m tired of this, I wanna do something else,” so she offered a break and ensured we had a fresh cocktail in-hand. I wish she would have suggested I stop winking at the camera as much. What I thought was a sultry flirty expression, actually looked more like a stroke consequence and ruined a couple of otherwise gorgeous shots. I can’t blame Angelina for the way my face looked, but a discreet heads-up that excessive winking made me look more like an attention-hungry improv actor than a blushing bride would have been appreciated. She offered a couple different payment methods including online and paper check. Her contract was straightforward and professionally written. The only challenge was choosing which photos to print; Narrowing down all of our favorites to just three or four was a welcome dilemma. I got my Kardashian Christmas photo, Vanity Fair portraits, and so much more. Moving forward, we intend on having Angelina photograph all of our portraits and milestones. Overall 5 stars, I cannot recommend her enough.

There are many reasons couples choose not to have a “traditional” wedding, and the beauty is that you can make it anything you want it to be – and that’s also why I care so deeply about making sure every couple I work with knows that their day is important, beautiful, and deserves to be captured so you can look back on every detail. Hi! My name is Anna– I am an elopement and wedding photographer helping adventurous couples say “I do” on their own terms from coast to coast.

Professional photographer, lover of natural light, traveler, adventurer, happy wife and a dreamer! I fell in love with photography when my dad gave me his old film camera from a dusty box he had uncovered in our garage one spring cleaning day, and I have enjoyed taking photos ever since. I have travelled the world with my backpack, camera and trusty Apple laptop from Europe to India and South East Asia learning and being enriched by all the wonderful different cultures.

Kate and Dom are wonderful people to work with. We would do it all again with them in a heartbeat! They were professional, timely, relaxed, friendly, and very artistic in their photography. Our experience with both the engagement session and the wedding was flawless. And the results speak for themselves. We have so many gorgeous photos to choose from. I’m a wedding photographer based in Portland, Oregon. I’ve documented hundreds of couples’ love stories over the past 13+ years, traveling all over the United States and beyond, and it has been one of the biggest honors of my life. I always strive to capture the day how it happened: the love, the laughter and the tears. I want you to look back at your wedding images for decades to come with joy and pride.

Hello there! I’m Amy. My roots are here in the PNW, (Edmonds, Washington to be exact) but I spent most of my life in Texas waiting for the day when I could move my family home to the northwest. I have 5 sons (yep, 5!) and have to pinch myself when I think about my amazing family and this career that has taken my husband and I all over the world. I value experience and relationships over material things, and work mostly with couples who are planning smaller weddings or elopements. After 12 years and 300+ weddings, I’ve learned that connection and authenticity are essential to who I am, and the way that I work.

We're both a little goofy, love to dance, adore all fur babies, and will love you forever if you buy us tacos. We are best friends who get to work together which is really great. We started photographing weddings 11 years ago and are truly grateful that our work has filled our lives with so many incredible people. If you were to ask us what we love most about being wedding photographers we would tell you, it's the people, hands down! Experiencing and documenting the love and joy between couples and their families and friends is the best job ever.

Timeless over trendy has always been my mantra with wedding photography. I’m Natalie, a Portland, Oregon wedding photographer. I've been photographing weddings and families for over ten years, and my focus is on human connection. The simplest moments, the ones that aren't orchestrated or directed, are the ones you'll want to remember forever.

I am so grateful to have had the pleasure to work with Natalie twice! The first time I met her she photographed my friend's wedding in Hood River and when I saw the wedding photos it truly felt like the representation of that day. filled with joy and love. After searching endlessly for a photographer i was recommended to Natalie twice and when we got to speak she asked such intentional questions about our love story, what photography means to us, and photos that mean so much to us. the conversation moved me and i knew i wanted a photographer that could capture the emotion and joy of that day.. and she was sure she did. She understood we didn't really want overly styled/editorial photos and wanted more time to spend with our loved ones. Our French-Mexican wedding was beautiful and I'm so grateful that Natalie captured such beautiful moments. She was a joy to work with and I hope we get to work with each other for other life events in the future.
