About Empowering You Photography
Emily Pastrana
I'm Emily - a Pittsburgh-based wedding photographer set on capturing intimate, joyful, authentic, & emotional photos. I want you to look back on your wedding photos not just love the way they look, but I want you to remember what the moment felt like. My hope is for you to feel the way your loved one hugged you as they gave you away, to laugh as you look back at the best man giving his speech...every captured moment has a feeling. I will do my best to stop those moments in time for you to experience forever. I am witty, goofy, sarcastic, open-minded, & honest. I will be your ultimate third wheel.
Most of my couples walk away asking if they can be our "real life friends" after the wedding. My husband and I shoot together, so two people who are madly in love will be capturing YOUR love. With us as your wedding photographers, it will be a breeze. And you'll get two new "real life friends."

THE. GOAT.
Where do I even BEGIN with Emily?! Truly one of the best decisions we made throughout our entire wedding process. Not only is she unbelievably talented, but she is genuinely one of the sweetest souls I have ever met. From day one, Emily became so much more than just our photographer. She was my personal hype girl, a calming presence, a helping hand, and honestly felt like a friend throughout this entire experience. During our engagement shoot, it unexpectedly rained, and I was honestly so disappointed because I had envisioned this beautiful sunny session... Without hesitation, Emily immediately reassured me and rescheduled the shoot so we could truly have the experience and photos I dreamed of. That alone meant so much to me and says everything about the kind of person she is. Then came our wedding day… and somehow she exceeded my expectations even MORE. She helped with so much more than photography. She helped me get into my dress, put on my jewelry and shoes, carried my train, had tissues ready at all times, picked grass out of my dress, fixed little details constantly, and somehow managed to do all of that while still capturing the most breathtaking photos imaginable. She cried with us, laughed with us, hyped us up nonstop, and was so genuinely present throughout the entire day. And the PHOTOS?!?!?! Absolutely mind blowing. She didn’t just capture memories, she captured feelings. Every single photo brings me right back to that exact moment. I can literally FEEL how happy, emotional, excited, and loved we were through her work, and that is such a rare gift. Now for the most insane part....... she got our ENTIRE wedding album back to us in ONE WEEK. ONE. WEEK. We were on our literal honeymoon, and got to look through all of our pictures. INSANE. Unheard of. Emily is truly a dream of a photographer AND human being, and I can confidently say we will be calling her for every important life event we ever have moving forward. Captured Every Moment Perfectly!
Emily was absolutely amazing! The photos are truly stunning and perfectly captured every moment we hoped for—and so many beautiful candid ones we didn’t even realize were happening. Emily and David made us feel so comfortable and special throughout the day, bringing such great energy and positivity to every shot. From start to finish, she was incredibly easy to work with—organized, professional, and quick to respond whenever we had questions. We were also blown away by how quickly we received our photos after the wedding! BEST DECISION EVER
If I could give more than five stars i absolutely would! Choosing Emily as our wedding photographer was hands down the best decision we made! From our very first call, she made us feel completely at ease. She has the best energy and made our wedding day so much fun! On top of that, she is the kindest and most thoughtful person 3 She captured our day so beautifully and so authentically. The laughter, the happy tears, the little in-between moments — she caught it all with such care and heart. She delivered everything SO quickly and perfectly edited. We’ll treasure these photos forever and can’t thank Emily enough for giving us the gift of reliving our favorite day over and over again. We can’t wait to use Emily again for all of our big life moments to come!!

The best photographer in the business!
Choosing Emily as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our big day. Her work speaks for itself on her instagram page and website, but what you may not see online is how absolutely wonderful Emily is. She truly made our day so special. I felt like THAT bride on our wedding day, and Em was the ultimate hype woman. She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, and we had so much fun taking photos together. She had great communication with us and our worked with our wedding coordinator to create a seamless timeline. She made sure to keep our day about us and not about other people’s opinions or requests. I cannot say enough good things about Em! If you haven’t booked with her for your wedding, do it now!!!!

Emily from Empowering You Photography was absolutely wonderful! She was so much fun and easy-going, and she worked incredibly well with all of our guests, even the slightly difficult ones. Emily has an amazing eye for photography, and our pictures turned out to be truly beautiful. We love every single shot she captured and were so impressed with the variety of different types of pictures from our wedding. There are plenty of romantic pictures, fun candid shots, creative artsy pictures, classic portraits, and stunning detail shots. She really did an amazing job making us, our guests, and our venue look our absolute best—and we were comfortable the entire time. We would highly recommend her for any wedding or important event!
