About Empowering You Photography
Emily Pastrana
I'm Emily - a Pittsburgh-based wedding photographer set on capturing intimate, joyful, authentic, & emotional photos. I want you to look back on your wedding photos not just love the way they look, but I want you to remember what the moment felt like. My hope is for you to feel the way your loved one hugged you as they gave you away, to laugh as you look back at the best man giving his speech...every captured moment has a feeling. I will do my best to stop those moments in time for you to experience forever. I am witty, goofy, sarcastic, open-minded, & honest. I will be your ultimate third wheel.
Most of my couples walk away asking if they can be our "real life friends" after the wedding. My husband and I shoot together, so two people who are madly in love will be capturing YOUR love. With us as your wedding photographers, it will be a breeze. And you'll get two new "real life friends."

The absolute best
Emily exceeded all of our expectations and then some, truly playing such a huge role in giving us one of the happiest days of our lives. She was professional, easy to communicate with, so fast with turnaround, creative, and brought my vision to life effortlessly. She made me feel comfortable and supported throughout the process like a built in energizer bunny cheerleader :) We love her and would be thrilled to work with her again in the future!!

Dream photographer and hype woman!!!
Emily and her assistant Carly brought the most amazing energy (upbeat, warm, genuine) to our day and was such a fantastic cheerleader!! She is both incredibly professional and amazing at her job while also feeling like a good friend you've known for years. The photographs she took are marvelous and did an insanely good job at capturing the pure emotions and beauty of the day. Our ceremony and portrait shots are timeless, natural, and joyful, while the reception action photos are electric :) Whenever there was any minor hiccup, Emily jumped right into superhero mode figuring out how to help in the warmest and most thoughtful of ways. She kept us spot on with our timeline and even jumped in to learn a line dance with my bridesmaids when our original choreo plans fell through. We had such a fun time and I could not recommend Emily enough!!

As I sit here going through these pictures for what feels like the billionth time, I fall in love with them all over again. I've never loved photos the way I love these. Every single image brings me right back to those moments, and she captured them PERFECTLY. She matched my vision x10. I am beyond grateful for Emily - not only for her talent, but for who she is as a person. She puts so much heart, dedication, and care into her work, and it truly shows. From the moment she shows up, she just fits right in. She has this amazing ability to read the room, go with the flow, and make everyone feel comfortable being themselves. What I love most is that she doesn't try to force anything. She vibes with your personality, makes you laugh, keeps things fun, and somehow captures all the genuine moments in between. Best photographer ever!
Emily was the absolute best photographer that we could have picked for our wedding and engagement photos. She made us feel so at ease in front of the camera and was just the most fun person to be around. She was super helpful in our planning process and answered all my emails and questions within a day or two. We couldn't have asked for more perfect photos that so beautifully captured all the emotions of the day. 100/10 experience.

Where do I even BEGIN with Emily?! Truly one of the best decisions we made throughout our entire wedding process. Not only is she unbelievably talented, but she is genuinely one of the sweetest souls I have ever met. From day one, Emily became so much more than just our photographer. She was my personal hype girl, a calming presence, a helping hand, and honestly felt like a friend throughout this entire experience. During our engagement shoot, it unexpectedly rained, and I was honestly so disappointed because I had envisioned this beautiful sunny session... Without hesitation, Emily immediately reassured me and rescheduled the shoot so we could truly have the experience and photos I dreamed of. That alone meant so much to me and says everything about the kind of person she is. Then came our wedding day… and somehow she exceeded my expectations even MORE. She helped with so much more than photography. She helped me get into my dress, put on my jewelry and shoes, carried my train, had tissues ready at all times, picked grass out of my dress, fixed little details constantly, and somehow managed to do all of that while still capturing the most breathtaking photos imaginable. She cried with us, laughed with us, hyped us up nonstop, and was so genuinely present throughout the entire day. And the PHOTOS?!?!?! Absolutely mind blowing. She didn’t just capture memories, she captured feelings. Every single photo brings me right back to that exact moment. I can literally FEEL how happy, emotional, excited, and loved we were through her work, and that is such a rare gift. Now for the most insane part....... she got our ENTIRE wedding album back to us in ONE WEEK. ONE. WEEK. We were on our literal honeymoon, and got to look through all of our pictures. INSANE. Unheard of. Emily is truly a dream of a photographer AND human being, and I can confidently say we will be calling her for every important life event we ever have moving forward.
