I received many compliments on the flowers and the venue coordinator referred brides that were interested in “my florist”! With my combined business acumen, production experience, and flair for design, I saw the perfect opportunity to start my business, and B&B was born. Native New Yorker Denise Porcaro founded Flower Girl over ten years ago, having come from a background in production design for film. James Francois-Pijuan has a background in fine art, having earned his bachelor's at Parsons New York. Highly trained as a sculptor and a painter (earning his BFA from Parsons School of Design), he brings an artist’s eye for color, texture, form, movement, and meaning into all his designs. James approaches each event as a new work of art, working with a natural form to fashion a vision uniquely crafted for each occasion. He began designing his first floral arrangements to court the woman who would one day become his wife.
