Working with Jen was one of the highlights of my wedding planning process. I had wanted to use wood flowers but didn't know where to start and could not be happier to have found her to help me bring my vision to life! We were fortunate enough to travel up to Connecticut during my bachelorette party, and I got to have a great time with my bridesmaids making our bouquets and the men's boutonnieres. Jen is so patient and clear in her direction because we do not consider ourselves that crafty! Even before meeting her in person Jen was so amazing helping me solidify my flower colors and types based on all the other colors present in my wedding, which is no small feat as it was colorful! She was also flexible with adding on extra flowers to my order and providing helpful tips so I could DYI more myself for our centerpieces and arch decorations. Everything turned out amazing and I couldn't be happier I had her on my wedding team!

Working with Jen for our October 2025 wedding was AMAZING!! From the moment we sent in an online inquiry, Jen was attentive, responsive, thoughtful, and incredibly detail oriented. She got us set up with a project planning doc immediately, and she was SO patient with us even when we were annoyingly indecisive about our vision lol. She met with us via Zoom to answer all of our questions when we were struggling to finish the document (and she is just as thorough and helpful via Zoom as she is via email). Once we placed our final order, Jen was communicative and thorough about the process of what happened next in terms of pickup, payment, etc. When we picked up our flowers, we were ASTOUNDED by how beautiful they were. I mean, we knew they would be beautiful, but truly, WOW. Aside from bouquets & boutonnieres, we also got garlands to use as centerpieces for our guests’ farmhouse tables, as well as small wooden circle magnets with a flower on top (we wood burned the j c into them ourselves) to use as favors. And they all looked incredible. An employee at our venue said that our decor was “the best she’s ever seen this place look,” and a large part of our decor was these flowers. I cannot recommend Jen and Wood and Word Blooms ENOUGH!!! PS bouquet photo is from today (1/5/26)!! The longevity is insane!

Wood & Word Blooms created absolutely beautiful sola wood floral designs for our wedding day. The bridal party bouquets and boutonnieres were stunning, with a lovely natural look and feel. Their floral decor pieces also added such a lovely touch throughout our ceremony and reception spaces. We were incredibly impressed by the quality of their work, and felt we received great value for the cost. Wood & Word Blooms was a wonderful vendor to work with, and we would highly recommend them to any couple planning their wedding.

While I do not have a minimum, my average wedding is $1500-$2500 with larger weddings ranging $3000+. I take on a limited number of micro-wedding orders when my schedule allows.

Typically, the sweet spot for booking me is 9-12 months in advance as I take a limited number of weddings each month. I book up to about a year and half out; however, due to ever changing cost of supplies I do not book weddings farther out than this. I definitely recommend having a few details figured out first. For example: Have you selected the location for your ceremony/ reception? What’s your wedding style? Do you have your dress picked out? This can help make sure your florals work with your overall vision.

As a faux flower florist specializing in sola wood, things works a bit different. I aim to have your florals complete 1 month prior to your wedding, so you have one less thing to stress about on your day. I do not offer delivery/set up. You may pick up your flowers when they are ready or have them shipped anywhere in the US!

With wood flowers (or silk or paper), no flower is ever out of season. Isn't that great! With me, you can pick your flower style and even the exact colors you'd like them to be! You can have sunflowers in winter or purple and teal roses...no limit to your vision!

No need! Sola wood flowers won't wilt and will stay just as they are for years to come. I recommend keeping out of direct sunlight and away from where they might be knocked. Occasional light dusting is helpful, as well. You can choose to deconstruct your bouquet and make it into a beautiful arrangement, heart board, shadow box or more or just leave your bouquet in a vase as gorgeous centerpiece.

No. Besides hand-painted wood flowers, I can also work with silk flowers and paper flowers. I also occasionally work in fabric flowers, as well.

Sola wood flowers are made of natural and sustainable resources. The main 3 plants are the cassava, Aeschynomene aspera, or balsa wood which are shaved in to thin sheets and used to make the wood flowers. They are biodegradable and their natural color is a light ivory.

No, I do not work with fresh flowers at all. I do use dried and preserved florals sometimes in my work but I hand paint sola wood flowers for my weddings and events and combine these with faux greenery. Wood flowers are made from a biodegradable, earth-friendly materials called sola wood.
