Pick a Bloom was founded on love and laughter in small-town Surry, Virginia by us, a mother daughter duo, who wanted to see our vision of fresh flower alternatives bloom to life. We work primarily with 100% REAL preserved and dried flowers and foliage.

Preserved and dried wedding flowers are an excellent alternative to silk, sola, as well as fresh flowers, because they are in fact real and will last long past your wedding day. All of our blooms can be shipped nationwide directly to your doorstep or venue prior to your wedding.

This arch arrangement includes 3 flower sprays that can be put together to make one large spray or used individually throughout your arch. We hired Paula and Samantha pretty down to the wire of our wedding, but they immediately jumped in! We contacted them on Friday, and they had our proposal ready by Monday! Our flowers fit our vibe perfectly: I wanted something to pull from the venue's brick, but not look too "autumny" for our January wedding, and they nailed it! They look and feel like "regular" flowers, but they'll last forever and have so far held up perfectly! We're gifting a number of our pieces to our mothers and grandmothers as keepsakes from our amazing day, while saving the rest to display around our house! We're so happy to have such beautiful mementoes to remember it by!

I am a wedding coordinator and I have worked with Pick a Bloom! As a wedding planner, communication is crucial and this mother-daughter duo were always timely to respond. Their work was amazing, guests at the wedding were in aw at how beautiful the floral arrangements were! They could not believe that the florals were dried and real. I had a wonderful experience working with the team at Pick A Bloom-Preserved & Dried Florist. They were easy to communicate with and listened exceptionally well to my unique needs after my mom passed away. The quality of their work and attention to small details was lovely. They created a special memorial for my mom by turning her corsage into an ornament that we could display at the wedding. The team sent photos throughout the creation process and everything arrived early, which helped make our special day run smoothly. I'm so grateful for their thoughtful service and beautiful florals.

First, they are REAL flowers that don't die! You can save them as a keepsake from your wedding day. Second, they are not any more fragile than fresh flowers are.

Preserved flowers/foliage are given a preservation liquid that replaces the moisture within the plant allowing the plant to maintain its pliability and beauty. Preserved flowers/foliage are not anymore fragile than fresh. In fact, in most cases they are more durable. Dried flowers/foliage are usually harvested at their peak and then air dried. Unlike preserved flowers/foliage, dried can be more delicate. Here at Pick a Bloom our main focus is using preserved flowers/foliage however we do sometimes accent our arrangements with touches of dried flowers.

We were one of the first shops to sell this unique flower alternative. That gives us experience on what works and what doesn’t. Secondly, most other shops exclusively use dried flowers, our arrangement are mainly preserved with some dried flowers mixed in. This gives our bouquets durability and a fresh bouquet appearance. Our blooms feel and look lifelike. Finally, because we’re fun, we just love what we do and collaborating with our clients. We are a friendly mother daughter duo with a passion for this unique flower alternative and our clients.

Yes! We offer small sample boxes so you can see and feel the quality of our preserved flowers/foliage for yourself. Please note our samples are not custom, they are meant to give you an idea of the feel, texture, and durability of our preserved flowers/foliage.

We do email consultations. You can simply email us at happy@pickabloom.com with the following information. *Your wedding date *Inspiration photos *Quantities of the type of arrangements you are in need of.

Yes, in fact we encourage them. The deposit is half the amount of your grand total. The deposit reserves your flowers as well as a spot on our calendar.

All final payments are due two months prior to your wedding date.

All of our blooms can be shipped nationwide. Your order will be shipped to your doorstep or venue a month prior to your wedding date.
