The venue itself is stunning - it was recently renovated and the new touches are simply beautiful. The location was already gorgeous, but the updates have made it even more breathtaking. The Mountain Terrace team went above and beyond both during the planning stages and on the day of our wedding. We had a phenomenal time and I was completely stress-free thanks to their efforts. We loved our time and the warm, down-to-earth people that worked with us at Mountain Terrace. Jess made my absolute dream wedding florals come true! After our initial consult, she sent me a beautifully pieced together PDF of her ideas/vision for the florals which must have taken her so much time. We discussed any changes, and then signed the contract. She was extremely responsive, flexible, and understanding throughout the entire wedding process which made my life as a bride so much easier. On the day of the wedding, she was there early and had her set-up process down to a schedule. I have to say, the florals were absolutely stunning and had my guests asking for the name of my florist. Carlos provided wonderful service at both our engagement shoto shoot and the day of our ceremony. He started both with a quick speech on posing and posture to help everyone look their best. He brought his son as a second shooter for our ceremony, and they both mingled with our guests at the reception, getting casual shots of most of our friends and family. He provided finished photos so quickly after the event (a little over 400 photos) that we were able to send those casual shots out with the thank you cards.

We worked with Yoko from Two Perfect Events, and her team was on top of it every step of the way. Yoko made sure to get to know us and took every step possible over the year we worked together to make sure that we were prepared for the big day. She was in touch with our vendors, and our families and made sure that everything ran as smoothly as possible. We never felt behind schedule or rushed because Yoko and team were so organized and on top of it. They really took care of us throughout the entire process. Something we appreciate is that they anticipated we'd need breaks during the day and scheduled those for us as well, they also made sure we were fed and hydrated throughout! Our families could not stop talking about how efficiently the entire day was managed. 11/10 want to plan another wedding just to hire them again.

TLDR: Sarah Fischback photography was perfect for our wedding! She worked with us every step of the way, had contingency plans and made our wedding day perfect. Why/what we chose: We booked her about a year out from our wedding in May 2024. We wanted someone who was local, with a great portfolio, and wasn’t a chain with multiple sites and a huge staff. She was flexible with the contract as we decided what we did and didn’t want. We decided on 1 photographer for 8 hours, 1 photographer for 6 hours & 1 videographer for 6 hours with an 8-10 min video of the day, plus a hard drive of pictures & footage. Leading up: We made payments in 3 installments over that year. We filled out a form which laid out specific shots we wanted, timeline for the day, and choose music for the video. 1 month before the wedding we had a phone call with Sarah directly to discuss all the plans. She answered every question we had and took great notes on a spreadsheet that she shared with us. She also told us that she was pregnant and would be due sometime soon after our wedding so she was planning to have the second photographer stay longer to help out in case she couldn’t do certain things, at no charge to us. The only “problem”: A week before the wedding Sarah texted us that she had gone into labor. This could easily have been one of those stressful last minute wedding issues, but she had an organized, thorough, and thoughtful contingency plan. She had her secondary photographer become the primary, and had another individual as her secondary. She filled them in on the plans of the day and everything was still a go! And Sarah still edited our photos. It was a bummer we wouldn’t have Sarah there, but given how everything had gone so far we trusted her and hoped for the best! Wedding day: The bridal party was met by Sara Fischer (our new primary) at a nearby hotel right on time for all the getting ready shots! Sean (secondary) arrived with Jose (videographer). They started with shots of the venue and groomsmen getting ready. The ceremony started and they just sort of blended in with the crowd, it was great! We didn’t have a wedding planner for making sure we were on time, but the photographers helped with this (not their job but super helpful). The reception went really well too! They worked hard and I hope I gave them a break to have some food as the day really got away from me! One of the other great things was I had a film camera and wanted some film photos and Sean took a bunch with it for me and I really appreciated that (I bought the film, developed, & scanned them & Sarah did edit some of them). Sara, Sean, and Jose were absolutely delightful people to have at the wedding and seemed truly happy to be there. Photo reveal: 2 weeks after the ceremony we got 8 sneak peaks and gave some feedback on coloring and lighting preferences! 8 weeks after the ceremony we got our photos! I honestly love every single photo they took! Absolutely no duds! Our video was 9 minutes long and beautiful! It is amazing to see all these shots of us and our guests, especially from times I didn’t even notice the cameras. Final thoughts: I cannot recommend Sarah Fischback enough. She did so much for us and made our day very special. I know the photographer is one of the most expensive parts of the wedding, but Sarah far exceeded my expectations and it was well worth it!

We held our wedding reception at Saratoga Springs in the Cathedral Grove region of the venue on a Saturday in October. After visiting them for a walkthrough, we booked this venue about a year and a few months in advance. This was the first venue we visited and we fell in love! We felt a great family-like vibe from the staff, starting with Jennifer who coordinated our initial booking and tour. Throughout our time preparing for this event, Olivia and Sam were extraordinary in their communication, response time, and knowledge of these events. They did a wonderful job in helping us understand what we needed vs. what we wanted and good decisions to make. They never tried to upsell us on more expensive options, always letting us know the best value for what we wanted. Throughout this process, we knew we had made the right choice in terms of staff. Scenically, Saratoga Springs is stunning! An outdoor venue with several different species of large trees like oaks and redwoods, many small creeks that run through and around the venue, and several amenities included such as lights that wrap around the trees, a firepit, and artificial turf that you can actually wear high heels on! We were in love with the scenery immediately because our reception was LOTR/Legend of Zelda themed and this was perfect for us. Throughout the actual event, the Saratoga Springs staff was excellent. They assisted us and our own day of wedding coordinators in running the event and making sure we had everything that they could provide. Our reception was during a brutal heat wave in the Bay Area, but Cathedral Grove had so many large trees that the shade they provided meant the floor never got hot and it felt more like 75 degrees which was SO essential for the comfort of ourselves and our guests. Everything was great, and we give the venue and their staff a 10/10. There was one glaring issue we want to address. The DJ we booked, Paul Dominguez, was a very nice man. He seemed to be on top of it, being in constant communication with us leading up to the event. We felt that he was going to do a great job. Yet, when it came time for the event, he made SEVERAL mistakes in what we asked him to do that we felt the need to address this situation and performance. He is part of the approved vendor list for DJs but we honestly feel Saratoga Springs needs to either reevaluate him or discuss this with him because literally everything else about the night was perfect for us, except him. Again, he is a nice guy and even provided cold sparklers for us for free which we really appreciated, but the lack of attention to detail in several aspects of this night was something we felt we needed to address here. Overall, Saratoga Springs is an excellent venue choice for a big event like a wedding/reception and we are happy to recommend anyone looking for a venue. We had an amazing experience for our reception and we are very satisfied with the staff and scenery of this venue.

Michelle was our canine coordinator on our wedding day and she took care of our dog and made it possible for him to be a part of our wedding celebration. Michelle did a meet and greet with our dog and you can immediately see her love for dogs and also her experience working with them. Our shiba is a stubborn boy who can tune others out when he’s curious, but Michelle was able to get his attention when needed. She also took him back to our hotel and fed him and we were able to enjoy our reception without having to worry about who was taking care of our dog. If you are interested in having your pup involved in your wedding, I highly recommend Michelle. We had a worry free experience with her around because we knew our dog was in good hands. Another perk of having a canine coordinator like Michelle is that you know your dog is being handled by a professional and that none of your guests would have to step away and miss out on any part of your wedding should your dog get restless during your ceremony, etc. Easily one of the best decisions we made for our wedding :) Thank you, Michelle!

My wedding was 10-02-2022 at Temescal Beach House in Oakland. Kim did my hair and make-up as well as the hair and make-up of my mom and 2 bridesmaids. Throughout the process-from my very first phone/video call with her, until the wedding day- Kim was kind, responsive, professional, and completely fantastic. She's genuine and calming which for me, was exactly what I wanted. I do not wear make-up or do my hair so this was the aspect of my day-of wedding prep that I was most worried about. I didn't want heavy make-up or to not look like myself. I also didn't have a pinterest board or a ton of my own ideas because that world (of hair and make-up) is intimidating to me and just not a language I speak. Kim was SO good at giving me options, talking me through things, and REALLY listening to my preferences. She was adaptive and sincere throughout the process and I felt SO beautiful on my wedding day. I looked like me, but leveled up a few notches, and my friends and family recognized me. The hair and make-up also lasted all day which was awesome. Kim is seriously the best (also queer friendly which was great). I cannot recommend her more highly.

I can’t recommend Far Out Catering & Events highly enough! Carla and her wonderful team helped me organize a beautiful baby shower for my daughter-in-law. They not only provided a fantastic luncheon buffet, but they also created a stunning layout, handled the vendors, and their flower team made adorable centerpieces for the tables.
