Hi, I’m Yana — the photographer behind The Y.K. Studio. With a background in fine art and documentary photography, I bring an intentional, editorial eye to your celebration day, balancing artistic composition with raw, honest storytelling. I will gently guide you in a way that feels authentic, allowing you to interact naturally and have the most joyful photographic experience. Based in Pacifica but available all around the Bay Area and beyond.

My approach is rooted in formal education and a deep respect for the craft. Trained in documentary storytelling at the International Center of Photography in New York, I bring a refined, professional perspective to my work. This background allows me to move past simple snapshots and focus on intentional, gallery-quality visual storytelling.

Simply the best
From our first conversation, we knew The Y.K. Studio was the right choice for us. Yana created a survey to learn who we are as a couple, which helped her capture the real love we share in our photos. The whole process was stress-free and efficient. Honestly, the easiest part of our wedding planning. We'd never done professional photos before, but Yana made us feel comfortable and the session itself was so fun. She communicated with us every step of the way and brought our vision to life through beautiful candid shots in black and white. Our photos came back quickly and exceeded our expectations. Yana was an absolute gem of a photographer!

We cannot recommend Yana enough. We are so thrilled with the photos we received and just overall experience. Feel free to read more of the nitty gritty below, but TL;DR: we would give her way more than 5/5 stars if we could. :) The Experience: Yana was so warm, communicative, and organized from the start. She quickly replied to my request for an engagement photoshoot and had a very organized/simple process for getting started. She helped us select the right location and also gave tons of tips/guidance on picking out some outfits, as well as some fun pose ideas! We were a bit nervous going into the shoot as we didn't want it to feel super rigid/awkward with very forced/posed shots, but that couldn't be farther from our experience; it felt like we were on a fun, playful date with someone there just capturing the moments. The Photos: Insane. Stunning. We can't get over them. As a hobbyist photographer myself, I'm honestly amazed by her obvious talent and artistic vision/style. Even her gallery delivery (the order/layout/design of the delivered photos) was clearly intentional and aesthetic. There are SO. MANY. great photos that we're honestly having a hard time picking which to use for wedding materials- which is an amazing problem to have!! I truly feel like she captured our love and spirit in these.

Yana is the best!
Yana made us feel so comfortable and we had a great time shooting with her! She had awesome location suggestions and the photos turned out even more gorgeous than we could’ve expected. I highly recommend working with Yana if you want amazing wedding/engagement photos!

If you want beautiful imagery, look no further!
Working with Yana for our elopement was an absolute dream. From the very beginning, the communication was seamless and professional. On the day of, we felt so comfortable and relaxed, which allowed us to just focus on each other. The photos turned out incredibly cinematic and captured the raw emotion of the day perfectly.
