We're born and raised in Wisconsin, but there are pieces of our hearts in both Colorado and California, the two places where we have traveled the most together. We specialize in couples who are madly in love and who have a sense of humor. We prefer to tell your story, rather than make another generic love story. We want to capture raw emotions. We want you to giggle and we want you to dance.

I am here to photograph weddings, couples, and branding sessions for those who are goofy, eccentric lovers and people like me! I've been capturing weddings since 2009. My style is classic/true to color and my approach is a mix of directive (for posed parts of the day) and candid. Overall, I blend into the background as much as possible when it's appropriate, capturing things as they happen and I help you create portraits with gentle direction and humor where necessary. Why do I take photos? Well I’m glad you asked! When I was a teenager I was thrown from one of my horses and lost my long term memory. Thankfully my father was into photography and I notice that looking back at family photos helped to trigger my memory! With the fear of hitting my head and potentially loosing my memory again, I started taking photography classes and was obsessive about taking photos. Whenever I take photos for a client I remember how important it was to my recovery to have images of my life.

As a small boy, I would sit for hours watching my mother hand-color portraits for a local photographer, during the cold winter months, by a fire in our family room. From there I began taking my own pictures with my first box camera. Fast forward to a restless twenty-something working as a microbiologist, taking weddings and portraits on weekends. Eventually I graduated college with an M.A. in Photography and started out in Chicago, assisting numerous photographers, shooting everything from oranges to weddings. I have been fortunate to have worked all over the world. Photography is more than a job, it’s an avocation, a passion, it's what I do.
