Hi, I'm Jill! I've been photographing weddings in Wisconsin (and beyond) for 13+ years. I absolutely love shooting weddings and telling your story of your day. I'm not here for stiff poses and fake smiles — I want the ugly cry, the snort-laugh, the glance across the room that says everything. If that sounds like your kind of wedding photos, I think we'd be a great fit.

I've shot weddings across Wisconsin and beyond, worked with some cool brands along the way (Nikon, Verizon, Leinenkugel's... I even got to have dinner with Dick Leinenkugel at his favorite supper club!) I come fully loaded — assistant, film camera, Super 8, drone — and ready for whatever the day throws at us. I'm pretty low-key on the day itself — I'll nudge you when it's helpful and disappear when it's not. You just show up and be yourselves! I've got the rest. The result? Images that are naturally editorial and story-driven. Your day in photos - exactly as it felt.

    August Wedding!

    Jill was wonderful on our wedding day! She had such a positive energy all day and made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. Our pictures are absolutely stunning and we love how she captured both posed and natural, candid photos of all of our guests!

    Super wedding photographer

    Jill was fantastic to work with. She helped me feel comfortable even though I usually feel awkward posing for pictures. My husband and I had such a great experience with Jill for our engagement photos that we asked her back to photograph our wedding and we would do it again. All our photos, from both photo events, are simply stunning. She captured our energy, the scenery, the natural light, and made us look great!

    Fantastic photos & a joy to work with!

    We couldn’t be happier that we chose Jill to be our wedding photographer. We knew we wanted someone to more accurately capture our day (did NOT want to have over-exposed, filtered looking photos or the hoaky, staged vibes) and her journalistic approach to her photography in combination with her joyful energy was PERFECT for us. We asked for a video chat prior to booking to go over some questions and concerns we had regarding the day and knew very quickly she was going to be the right fit for us. Given we both have a passion for photography ourselves, we greatly appreciated her expertise in a wide variety of elements (from bright, natural light to dark, interior spaces) and her realistic approach, which, alongside her experience and artistic vision led to crisp, beautiful photos representing us and our day. We also booked an engagement shoot with her, which we loved, as her bubbly personality immediately puts you at ease and allows you to get a sense of how to really be yourself in photos while still making them feel special. She was responsive and easy to communicate with through the whole process, really making the entire experience feel personal, and our wedding day was all that and even more fun. For the first part of the day she brought an assistant, Anney, with her, who was another ray of sunshine to work with to be a second set of hands, and we worked with Jill to hire a second shooter, Leiden, for a few hours later, who was wonderful as well. Jill being down-to-earth but also friendly and outgoing felt like the perfect combo so that we didn’t feel stressed throughout the day, but also that we could approach her with whatever our thoughts were. So many of our guests said (and keep saying) how much THEY also loved being around her at our event too. We legitimately got some amazing photos back of certain guests that we hardly EVER see smile for photos, which was just more proof how infectious her positive energy is and how great she is at what she does. We ended up with a ton of truly spectacular photos from our wedding for what we thought was a fair price, and that we got back in a very reasonable amount of time, all of which she takes the time and care to edit herself without making them look fake, filtered, or overly manipulated. I can’t overstate how much we loved having Jill as our wedding photographer and the way she perfectly captured us and our wonderful day.

    Jill is the best!

    Jill is absolutely amazing - would recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding photographer! She is extremely responsive leading up to the event. We were able to have several video chats prior to our wedding with Jill, which took lots of stress out of the planning process.     Jill Emmer is a MUST for wedding photos

    If you’re looking for a wedding photographer who is responsive, kind, and truly talented, I can’t recommend Jill enough! From the very beginning, she made us feel completely comfortable and at ease — something that meant a lot to me as someone who was nervous about being in front of the camera. Jill was incredibly responsive throughout the entire process, patiently answering all our questions and helping us figure out the perfect photo timeline for the day. On the wedding day itself, she brought such a calm and confident energy that helped everything flow naturally. What really stood out was how seamlessly she captured all those beautiful, candid moments — the laughter, the quiet glances, the small interactions that make the day so special. I was initially worried about the “posed” photos feeling stiff, but Jill made them fun and relaxed — and most of our favorite shots ended up being unposed, authentic moments that she somehow caught perfectly. Even my father, who is notoriously particular and has been a wedding photographer himself for decades, had nothing but praise for her — he actually complimented her photography style (which never happens!). Our photos are absolutely stunning — timeless, full of emotion, and beautifully composed. Jill has an incredible eye for detail and light, and she truly knows how to tell the story of the day through her images. We feel so lucky to have found her and will cherish these photos forever.
