With 10 years of experience, Cassaundra began her photography journey at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire as a Fine Arts student majoring in Photography. During her time in college, she assisted and second shot for many wedding's and events. In 2014, Cassaundra moved to Arizona on a whim and began her own photography business. The desert and mountains ignited in her a new passion for photography. After a short stint in LA, Cassaundra now lives in Milwaukee with her eight-year-old daughter. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, martial arts, and doing art with her daughter.

Cassaundra is a hybrid photographer, combining both classic 35mm film photography with digital. With her love for natural, bright colors and the dreaminess of golden hour, your photos will have a timeless and emotional feel.

    Amazing

    We were nervous about hiring a photographer until we met Cassaundra from Cassaundra Cherney Photography. From our first conversation, she was clear and direct about what to expect, which made planning so easy. On our wedding day, she had a way of making us feel comfortable in front of the camera and captured stunning moments we didn't even know were happening. Her professional eye combined with her fun personality made the whole experience enjoyable. The final photos exceeded what we imagined, and honestly, we're already thinking about booking her for future events. Highly recommend her to any couple looking for a photographer who truly cares about telling your story.

    2025 Event

    We booked Cassaundra in 2024. She was very responsive at the start, but communication became increasingly difficult. Our engagement session went smoothly enough, but despite being told we’d receive the photos within one- two weeks verbally, it ended up taking over three weeks and required follow-up to get an update. Our contract also stated we would receive the final gallery within 10 weeks; when that deadline passed, we followed up the Monday after the 10-week mark, and got our photos a few days later. Leading up to our wedding, we also found ourselves repeatedly needing to reach out for updates or clarifications, as many of her promised follow-ups didn’t arrive unless we checked in first. A few weeks before the wedding, Cassaundra let us know she was injured and would be sending an associate photographer in her place while she handled editing. She did secure a replacement, but communication around the process was slow and stressful — we didn’t get introduced to the person photographing our wedding until one week before the event. Overall, while the actual photos may turn out well, the consistent communication issues and missed timelines made the experience far more stressful than it needed to be.

What you described is not the standard I strive to provide. While my unexpected injury and surgery did impact the final weeks of your wedding planning, I fully recognize that clearer, more proactive communication should have been in place throughout the process.     Fantastic Engagement/Wedding Photographer

    Cassaundra Cherney Photography was an absolute joy to work with for our wedding! Cassaundra was very communicative on her schedule, needs and working with us on what vibes we wanted for the wedding. She shot our engagement, photos after and our wedding day! Cassaundra went so far as to hide under a boat to keep the engagement photos a surprise. The wedding photos were absolutely beautiful, and she went above and beyond for service and helpfulness throughout the day. Cassaundra is so easy to work with and makes the space relaxed. She has a background in event planning, so she understands the ins and outs of a wedding day and can communicate effectively with everyone - family, staff, other vendors and more. She was a true professional and a delight to have for our special day!

    New Family Photographer

    My engagement shoot was INCREDIBLE thanks to Cassaundra's vision! We shot at a beautiful Malibu beach during the sunset and she was reassuring, creative, and communicative throughout the process. Our photos were such a hit with my family, that we used her for our wedding and my sister also enlisted her services for her civil ceremony. Cassaundra has become our family photographer!

Typically, couples book me about 12 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer retouching services like blemish removal and teeth whitening for an additional charge.
You can expect about 75 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind that this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
In my 10 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
