Hi, I'm Sam! I tell everyone I know that I have the best job in the world - I get to document life moments. I genuinely love being around people, building those connections and letting your images tell your story. Beyond weddings, I also offer family portraits, head shots, milestone sessions, boudoir, senior portraits and more. I love audiobooks, potatoes in all forms (including raw), playing games, peanut butter, ice cream, dogs, and truly just being around people. I love listening to others' stories. I love grandparents.

My clients often say that I provide structure to make their day so much easier than they anticipated, and that they feel naturally comfortable around me. I believe communication is key to your day running smoothly, as well as being available to answer your questions! I don't believe in strangers, just friends I haven't met yet. I love people for who they are, and celebrate the human experience across all of our spectrums - celebrating LGBTQIA+ relationships and representing all people with dignified images that reflect their self-image.

    We Love Ampersand!!

    Sam is the absolute best, from meeting her at a wedding expo, to engagement photos to the wedding, she consistently put our mind at ease, was there every step of the way, made our needs feel like a priority and focused truly on the day being about us. Sam is so personable, easy to work with, and thoughtful. Her communication is amazing. She helped us with our timeline and stayed so organized throughout the event. Her photography is exceptional, her style makes you feel like your most beautiful, natural, and brightest self. Even more, she was able to work flawlessly with our videographer she'd never met before. My husband and I constantly state how we feel like we made the best vendor decisions and that started with Sam.     Truly the best! It has been hard to put into words how thankful we are to Sam. She was incredibly helpful throughout our whole wedding planning process and made our wedding day feel a little less stressful. Even a month out now and we are still receiving compliments on how amazing she was! Sam didn’t feel like she was just there to take our photos, but truly felt like a guest.

The quality of their work and the value they provided was amazing - Sam, the photographer, is an incredibly kind and energetic person who puts her heart and soul into capturing every moment.     STELLAR PHOTOGRAPHER, LOOK NO FURTHER!!

    I cannot say enough amazing things about Sam!!! She was there literally every step of the way, willing to work on anything with me!! Day of, Sam made everything go so smoothly!! She was there as a photographer, as extra hands for helping set up, keeping everything on schedule. Sam was literally the best, she helped calm my nerves and the photos!!! SO GORGEOUS!!! She was super fun and was great at offering advice for poses, but also really spontaneous when she saw us just being us and capturing that moment!

Typically, couples book me about 9-20 months before their wedding date, but the average is about a year out. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a tighter schedule.
You can expect about 100 to 150 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, timeline, venue type, and other factors.
Within 48 hours of your wedding you'll receive a sneak peek gallery with 15-20 of my favorite images from your day edited and ready for posting on social media or sharing with your closest loved ones. Then no later than 10 weeks out, you’ll be able to view your full gallery online with a link to be shared with your nearest and dearest for a fun way to relive your sweet day. Your images will also be delivered via USB drive in your "thank you" gift after your wedding.
Typically I work as a one-woman show, but I always have the ability to hire a talented colleague to join us for your day if requested!
I do and I'm glad to provide proof if your venue requires a certificate of liability.
In my nearly 10 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never needed to cancel a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my very talented colleagues. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
