The Trouble Makers' Story Trouble Makers' started, like most restaurants, as a dream. Our specific dream was shared between two men: Martin Magaña and Arnuflo Gonzales, who would later become the Co-Executive Chefs of the Trouble Makers' Restaurant Group. Their shared dream was simple: serve food reminiscent of the flavors and textures of their lived experiences, thus creating meaningful, vibrant, and delicious plates. In 2021, they partnered with Dillon Knight to create Trouble Makers' Restaurant Group, and dubbed their fare "Mad Mexican" cuisine.

We’re obsessed with the craft of smoked meat. Our certified humanely-raised meats are dry rubbed, slow smoked, and sauced by you. Hi! We are Pete and Jess, Husband and Wife team, Dad and Mom, Chef and Gardner, Drummer and Photographer, and owners of Heirloom MKE. Heirloom, first came about when I, (Jess speaking), thought about my parents and their love for gardening. Every year, my parents planted their own heirloom seeds, from the previous year, for their garden. They had all sorts of varieties of tomatoes, peppers, and so on. They also planted extra seeds to share plants with family, friends, and neighbors. There is so much meaning and love behind it all that it was a perfect fit, Heirloom Mke became our name.

On the city’s Northwest Side, a small pizza delivery storefront opened at 9006 W. Silver Spring Dr by two young Detroit transplants. Mark Gold and Louis Sicinski go way back to 1976. Hyper, pudgy Mark and dark-haired Lou experienced a best-friends-forever “love at first sight” sentiment over a movie and tuna sandwiches packed by Mark’s bubby in middle school.
