Northwoods Catering of Wisconsin is not a caterer I would recommend. Their communication style was rude and dismissive. When we inquired about catering for our wedding, they ghosted us completely. We had to send a follow-up email just to make sure they received our completed questionnaire, and the response we got back was snarky and unprofessional, stating they were "out of our range." The lack of courtesy and professionalism left a bad taste in our mouths. The wedding industry shouldn’t leave you feeling less than or dismissed. Wouldn’t recommend working with someone who feels it’s ok to treat clients and partners like this.

We’re sorry this inquiry felt disappointing. We are transparent on our website about the cost range couples should expect. When couples reach out, we review their stated budget and needs to see whether we’re a realistic fit. In this case, the budget range you provided was well outside the minimum range required for the type of on-site, chef-led service we offer for weddings; so, we let you know that we wouldn’t be the right match. We wish you the very best with your celebration.

It depends on the menu you desire. Talk with us.
Virtually or via phone, yes, but not in person.
Yes, absolutely! We are experts with them! Our dietary-restricted cuisines emphasize high-flavor dishes that existed before the era of factory-made substitutes.
A non-refundable deposit of 15% of the Total Estimated Cost locks in the date. 50% of the remaining is due 45 days prior to the Event date. The remainder is due on the Event day.
Chef Steve has over three decades of chefly expertise. A teen culinary prodigy, his life and work has since spanned numerous U.S. regions and several countries. Sous Chef Sam Ewen began his culinary journey as a child and later took his skills into the restaurant industry. He is an amazing chef in his own right. Pastry and Station Chef Aaron's wizardly culinary arts are bent toward the science and chemistry of food yumminess. We tap nearby culinary schools for additional chef staff, plus restaurant-employed cooking talent. We employ a highly skilled and trusted Food Service Captain who hires staff from her own professional networks.
Our liability insurance follows us where we go.
Caterers who provide one-size-fits-all menus at predetermined prices should be held in suspicion. It means they are cooking food off-site and travelling with it in warmers for hours before finally serving it. Quality will rapidly degrade before it meets your plate. We don't do that. We customize every aspect of your wedding menu to your cuisine preferences, the venue, number of diners, dietary stipulations, desired style of service, budget, and best seasonal ingredients.
We are essentially creating a restaurant for you, for one meal, one time. We are doing so at a venue that very probably was never designed for food service. We are staffing the Event with super-skilled people who won't even think about working for local pub wages. We have high equipment costs. We do start-to-finish planning, purchasing, travel, setup, cooking, serving, cleanup, etc., just for your one Event. We are typically the first to arrive and the last to leave at an Event. If we travel a lot, we will be staying in a hotel for a night or two.
A venue with some sort of kitchen greatly opens up the menu possibilities for your wedding. We least recommend a "wedding barn" because your menu options will necessarily be limited. We will in every case make any venue work.
For both chefs and service staff, dress befits the Event, whether classy formal garb to khakis and casual shirts.
Only desserts and beverages. Each must be conspicuously labelled with the name of the provider.
No date is reserved without a 15% deposit. If Caterer does not receive the first remaining 50% of Estimated Total Cost 45 days prior to the Event date, Caterer reserves the right to cancel the Event and retain the 15% deposit. Upon communication from the Client, Caterer reserves the right to extend a brief grace period toward the Client.
