The food completely surpasses any "wedding food" I have ever had, and they are one of the rare caterers that excels equally at sweet and savory preparations. I'm still dreaming about the sea bass, the hanger steak, the butternut squash gnocchi, and the almond cookies. And so much of their stuff happens to be gluten-free (but still amazing)! The Purslane team are warm, kind, and prompt, always willing to share advice and knowledge about every part of planning a wedding (which is essential when working at a unique wedding like the Prospect Park Boathouse). Their commitment to being carbon-neutral and kind to the planet means a lot to me as a vendor in an often-wasteful industry. The meal, including the appetizer spread, was lush and abundant, but there was much less food waste than I normally witness. Hire Purslane if you want a partner in planning as well as an amazing caterer.”

“As soon as we visited On the Marc for our food tasting, we knew that the food would be fantastic—and more on that in a minute—but OTM really set itself apart with the service. They greeted our guests with flavored waters when they arrived (hugely helpful for a mid-summer wedding), had servers ready with drinks and food as soon as cocktail hour started, prepared an appetizer platter for a quick private moment as newlyweds, and much much more. A few things stick out over all though: first, the servers were so attentive that they realized a friend of mine was absolutely smashing one of the appetizers and kept bringing those to her (even learning to take the mint leaf off as she did). Second, they rolled with the punches as we realized we may have screwed up some food placards, accommodating our request to check with each guest to make sure we had it right. Third, they had servers march out all at the same time to bring courses during dinner services, a super-professional touch which gave the service a white-glove-service feel. The food was delicious, and everyone kept commenting on it (even on the dance floor where they brought desserts!!). Overall, the food was amazing, the only thing better than the food was the service, and we highly recommend OTM to anyone considering them!”

Award-wining Chef Alain Lemaire is a native of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where he first discovered his interest in cooking. That interest in food grew out of the need to feed himself what he wanted, and when he wanted it by watching his mother and grandmother in the kitchen, to full blown passion by the time he graduated. Chef Lemaire has featured on several TV shows: he was the host chef of the “Taste of Haiti” episode of the "Luda Can't Cook" series on Discovery+ with award winning rapper, actor, restauranteur Chris "Ludacris" Bridges. He is also a contestant of the Food Network's hit series, Fire Masters, Cutthroat Kitchen, and Chopped.
