They were extremely comfortable and friendly while working with us and taking photos. Even when it came down to the dogs, 2 of which were panicking because they are rescues and being around so many people stressed them out, this didn't even phase the Sound Originals team which impressed me the most. Their professionalism with their gear was truly amazing to see (we have some professional photographers in our family who were commenting on this too), you could tell they knew how to handle their equipment. One thing that I loved was that they took the time to create cute photogenic moments to capture with the camera that would normally be over so fast, you would probably miss it. We set up a zoom call and after meeting him, we knew he was the right choice. He is so organized and was able to show us what our day would look like, and even helped plan out some of the timeline right there with us while mentioning or asking us about several things we had not even considered and probably would not have. “Before the wedding, Nathan was attentive and details-oriented as he helped us plan and figure out what photos were the most important to us. He met with us over Zoom and in-person at the venue to walk through the day and provided countless suggestions and tips to make sure the photography and ceremony went smoothly. During the wedding, Nathan took both phenomenal posed photos and brilliant candids. He was a constant presence with a cameras holstered on each hip, like a cowboy with lenses instead of six-shooters. He worked quickly to get us a selection of social-media ready the same day, perfect to share with family across the world who couldn't make it. After the wedding, Nathan's editing and communication skills are top-notch. He even drove out (over an hour!) to take some photos of a sapphire ring of my new wife's - it's a family heirloom she wore during the wedding that she wanted additional photos of. When we tried to pay for these additional photos, he waved us off. Nathan truly went above and beyond the call of duty. In terms of quality, the photos he took are top-notch. We have fantastic posed photos, often with little touches he suggested in the moment to ensure we looked relaxed, smiling, and at our best. His candids are some of my favorite photos in the world and perfectly capture what was a perfect day. Nathan's humor, attention to detail, and devotion to getting every shot right make hiring him one of the best wedding decisions we made. “We absolutely loved working with Maria for our engagement and wedding photos! We knew from looking at her portfolio for the first time and after we connected over the phone that we’d found exactly the right person to capture our celebration. From in-person meetings to Zoom syncs, our partnership with Maria immediately felt comfortable and collaborative. Maria brought warmth and her expertise to the table, while we brought our personalities and our vision to capture the vibrance and energy of our wedding day. There are three main elements that I want to highlight from working together with Maria: 1. Our rainy day engagement shoot in Brooklyn - despite us being based in Brooklyn, NY and our wedding venue and Maria both being located in the greater Washington, DC area, Maria made her way up to NYC and graciously did an engagement shoot with us capturing shots in some of our favorite places around Brooklyn. At first we were a bit worried when we saw that rain was in the forecast for our shoot day, but Maria assured us that the rain would only add to the romanticism of the shoot and she was absolutely right and truly delivered great shots. Not only that, she was great at directing us and making us feel relaxed throughout the entire session. 2. Maria’s unique proposal for our wedding day shoot - we connected with Maria nine months prior to our wedding, but she’s a sought after photographer! She was already booked on our wedding date, so she suggested an alternative for us to still be able to leverage her services and her editorial eye: she would suggest another trusted photographer to take raw photos on the day of our wedding, while she would still own all of the planning, coordination, and editing of all of our wedding photos so our images still got the Rise & Roam treatment. 3. Our wedding photos - Maria was highly communicative and phenomenal at making sure she understood what we were looking for in our shots. She made sure that our day-of raw photographer was aligned with our vision as well. (Shoutout to Sarah Mattozzi for being such a great day-of photographer and for partnering with Maria on our unique photography setup! Loved working with Sarah!). Just a few days after our wedding, Maria sent us a bunch of preview photos from the shoot and we were immediately struck by how well they turned out. Once we got the full album drop, we were so happy with all the images!! Maria captured the spirit, energy, and fun that was such a core part of our wedding celebration! Overall, I would highly highly recommend Maria to capture your own special day because she did a phenomenal job on capturing our celebration!”
