Hey, I'm Joliette! I recently moved to Westchester, NY with my husband and labradoodle, Basil, after living in Manhattan for the last 8 years. Marilyn Lamanna Photography
Rating: 5.0 (47 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $8,500
  • Serves Queens, NY

Hey there! My name is Marilyn. I live in New York City with my sweet partner, and our orange cat Maple. I’m an introverted, soft-hearted mush with an insatiable need to document the beauty in life. Practicing self-portraits in middle school eventually led me to pursue my photography degree from New York University, and I have been joyfully creating photos of wedding days ever since. To me, weddings are a magical display of the human spirit. It’s my biggest honor and joy to create imagery that captures that human magic - especially in a way that breaks the boundaries of historically gendered traditions.

Awarded Best of Zola
Marilyn made the entire experience of finding a photographer for our special day seamless. She was responsive and flexible, and her pricing tiers allowed us to work within our budget. Day of, she was amazing. She made my husband and me feel super comfortable and at ease. The portraits of us are outstanding! She got amazing candids at our reception and blended in with the other guests, making it easy to capture off-the-cuff photos. 10/10, recommend for your wedding, engagement photos, etc!

Thalia Photography
Rating: 5.0 (33 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $9,000
  • Serves Queens, NY
  • Offer

Thalia is a wedding photographer based in NYC and available worldwide. Inspired by art, music, and the quiet moments in between, she brings a calm, intentional approach to the way she documents weddings. With over 11 years of experience, she works closely with her couples from planning through the wedding day, capturing honest emotion and meaningful details. When she’s not photographing weddings, she’s likely holding a dirty chai latte or re-watching The Office.

Awarded Best of Zola
Thalia is truly exceptional -- not only is she an extremely talented photographer, but she is incredibly easy and fun to work with. She is artistic, organized, leads an amazing team, and could not have made us felt more at ease during our wedding. We were absolutely blown away looking through our wedding album. Thalia and her team managed to capture every single emotion we felt throughout the weekend, in a way that transported us back to each moment. One of the defining moments of our wedding was when it started to rain during the ceremony - it was unexpected, joyful chaos, and made for one of the most special parts of the weekend. Thalia somehow managed to run in front of my husband and I as we were sprinting, smiles on our faces, back to the barn with our guests to wait out the rain. That single moment must have been so difficult to capture, but is one of the most incredible photos in the album. My husband and I didn't end up doing an engagement photoshoot, so our wedding was the first time we were formally in front of a camera. Thalia offered clear but gentle direction that made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera, helped us lean into the moment, and made us feel just like ourselves. We got rave reviews from our wedding party, family, and friends about Thalia and her team - she felt like part of our friend group throughout the weekend. Her energy, artistic talent, optimism, and enthusiasm is unmatched. We can't imagine anyone else capturing our wedding weekend. We absolutely love Thalia and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to hire a fantastic wedding photographer!

Georgia Panagi Photography
Rating: 5.0 (6 reviews)

  • Serves Queens, NY

I've had a passion for photography since I could walk, and as I got older, I realized I had a true passion for following people around and taking candid of them. In high school I realized I could make my career out of this and here we are today!

Awarded Best of Zola
Georgia photographed our wedding and did an incredible job. From the start, we knew we would be in good hands, but we were completely blown away by how much we loved the final photos. Georgia perfectly captured one of the most important days of our lives. She was attentive, and not a single moment went unnoticed. A standout memory for us was when she gently and respectfully whisked us outside the reception hall to snap a photo just as the sun peeked through after a rainy afternoon — it was an unforgettable moment we’ll cherish forever. Hiring Georgia Panagi as your wedding photographer is a decision you can't go wrong with. Not only is she incredibly talented, but her pricing is fair, and she was always communicative before, during, and after the wedding. We couldn't be happier with our experience

I believe great photography is made when moments of humanity are captured, especially in just the right light. Weddings require a photographer who can capture it all: portraits, tender moments, unexpected moments, touching stories, warm family relationships, beautiful venues, dancing, and sometimes even sparklers! Photographing weddings is exciting, challenging, satisfying, and never boring! I'll work closely with you to make the best of it. ~ Tom

Tom was an absolutely AMAZING photographer! He was patient with all of the chaos ensuing in my parent’s home, he was down to earth, also, he was funny and so sweet! The photos that he took at our wedding are incredible, that you can see he has an artistic eye! He was on time for every occasion, and even wanted us to squeeze in a few more photos while the reception was occurring since the sun was setting! I saw that he worked really well with the videographer too! He was observant about everything. I am so glad I had Tom as my wedding photographer.

If I had a superpower, it would be celebrating people. I'm my friends' biggest cheerleader and I'll be yours too during this whole process! As a documentary wedding photographer, I focus more on being in the moment and letting you be YOU, by reminding you why you fell in love in the first place.

Loretta was truly a dream to work with. She really knows how to capture love within a photo ! We met during or engagement shoot which went amazing - she made us feel so comfortable while we walked around our neighborhood taking pictures. We knew the moment we met her that we had made the right decision. As soon as I saw her on my wedding day she gave me the biggest hug and interacted with my bridal party and family like they were her own. Truly a wonderful experience. We will forever be grateful for Loretta for being able to capture our big day.

Nidji Photography
Rating: 4.0 (4 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Serves Queens, NY

To date, there are only two images of me as a child. The first is my passport photo at the age of 1.5 months, the second is an image of me at the age of 8. Because of this, I have a deeper understanding, value and passion for photographs and imagery. With that said, I purchased my first camera at the age of 16 with my first paycheck! (used to flip burgers at a local Roy Rogers!). With that camera, I quickly learned how much I loved the art of documenting life with imagery and in 2012, I left a 16 year career in healthcare to follow my dream of becoming a photographer. I haven't looked back one day since then.

My family has been working with Natasha from Nidji Photography for the past eleven years. From my grand-niece's wedding, eleven years ago, to my brother-in-law's 100th. birthday celebration, plus many other events. And occasionally when she is unavailable, we have also had the opportunity to work with other companies. Comparatively speaking, no other photographer will take the time to position and pose every single guest/family member when it comes to family portraits. Most (if not all) will only say "ok, look at the camera" and that's it, without any regard to how they actually look. No other photographer will work for FREE just because they love their job (or a particular client! Yes, she photographs two free weddings every year! And no other photographer will stay until the very end of your event just to make sure they don't miss those extra special moments during your event. Lastly, no other photographer will say "no" to another client who's willing to pay more. That means, when you book her, you are 100% guaranteed that she will be the one photographing your event. Even with the occasional delay DUE TO HEALTH REASONS, we will continue to work with Nidji Photography for as long as possible and if you truly value the art of photography, I strongly recommend you work with this company.

Flaviu Nasarimba Photographer
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $1,400
  • Serves Queens, NY

I’m a New York–based wedding photographer with a photojournalistic, modern approach focused on capturing real moments as they naturally unfold. My work is about more than just beautiful images—it’s about telling your story honestly, from the quiet, intimate moments to the energy of the celebration. I keep things simple and unobtrusive, allowing you to be fully present on your day while I document it with a clean, refined aesthetic. Every wedding is unique, and I take the time to understand your vision so your photos feel personal, timeless, and true to you.

From our first conversation, Flaviu was responsive and genuinely kind, which made the whole planning process feel easy and stress-free. During our wedding day, he had a gift for putting everyone at ease during portraits—no one felt stiff or awkward in front of the camera. What really impressed us was how he caught all the small, emotional moments we were too busy to notice, plus he nailed our sunset photos with incredible lighting despite our tight schedule. His work is artistic and polished, but never feels overdone or fake; everything looks natural and real. When we got the gallery back, we were blown away—he somehow captured the exact feeling and energy of our day. Flaviu's talent and care made him so much more than just a photographer, and we'd recommend him in a heartbeat.

Colby Blount Weddings
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Serves Queens, NY

Colby Blount is an award winning fashion and wedding photographer. Born and raised in Georgia and now calls New York home. He loves merging a stylized vision with a photojournalist eye to help tell stories that feel real and authentic.

We recently hired Colby to shoot our tiny Covid-friendly Catholic ceremony and had an amazing experience! I cannot recommend him enough. Our ceremony took place in a historic Catholic church with restrictions on how close a photographer could get to the altar. Colby was very respectful of the space and still managed to get incredible photos of the ceremony. Our handful of guests commented on how non-intrusive he was while still managing to capture so many special moments. After the ceremony we went to a local park to capture photos of just myself and the groom and these photos blew us away. He was so easy to work with and made us feel very comfortable considering we are not naturals in front of the camera! The candid pictures look so natural and not forced. The variety of poses, backgrounds and settings he chose were great for getting many options of photos we love. I highly recommend hiring Colby for your wedding during and after this crazy pandemic. He wore a mask the entire time, was so calm and collected, and we had a blast spending our wedding day with him. He even let us stop to take pictures with our pet cat ! (LOL) Amazingly, our fully edited album of photos was ready less than a week later! We will always treasure these photos and this experience during the crazy times of 2020.

How many times in your life can you say: “I have fulfilled something so meaningful that it not only makes me happy but complete strangers as well?” I get that fulfillment every time I step into a wedding, an engagement session, or even capturing a new born. I love capturing the moment that exist right when a groom takes a look at his beautiful bride and can’t help but shed a tear of joy. These unfiltered moments make my job that much better. I live for those instances, where raw emotions are revealed and I can piece together a story worth telling.

Sascha Reinking Photography LLC
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Serves Queens, NY

The day you get married to your best friend isn’t about the size of the venue or the number of guests. It’s not about the flavor of the cake or flower arrangements. It’s simply about two people madly in love with each other, the intimate connection they share, and the memories they create along the way. After the food has been eaten, the presents have been opened, and the dress is hanging in your closet, your wedding day will still be with you – in your memories and in the images captured that day.

Sascha was so wonderful to work with!! I was completely overwhelmed with the amount of options we had available to us. I ended up narrowing down by the type of style I saw within photographers portfolio's. Sascha seemed to capture couples in their natural-at-ease compatibility. I reached out to Sascha and throughout our entire communication he was prompt at responding. We booked 4 months in advance and I did have an idea of the type of photo I was looking for. Sascha welcomed my location suggestions and we mapped out a game plan. The day arrived and though we were nervous to be in front of a camera, Sascha made us feel at ease and helped us feel comfortable in front of the lens. Sascha was easy to banter with and was flexible with angles and shots. We left Sascha after the shoot feeling excited and anxious on how well our vision translated to photos. When we got the photos back we could not be more pleased!! They came out exactly how we wanted them to and I couldn't have been more grateful to have found someone as talented, gracious and kind as Sascha.
