We spent 11 months planning every detail, and booking Golden Bell Music as one of our very first vendors was hands-down the best decision we made. The band/DJ hybrid concept? Pure genius! It absolutely delivers the best of both worlds, and they pulled it off flawlessly. But really, the biggest shout-out – and the core of this whole review – belongs to the phenomenal Marlon Aldana, our DJ and drummer. We first spotted him in action on Golden Bell's Instagram, and it was an instant "that's our guy!" moment. You can imagine our excitement when we found out he was available for our date! Working with Marlon from the very beginning was just an absolute pleasure. He wasn't just playing music; he was genuinely feeling the room, intuitively knowing when to let a song build or transition to keep the energy up. All of our "must-plays" were there, the do not-play was respected, and the dance floor never once emptied And talk about flexibility! We had a last-minute idea to add an extra instrument, and the Golden Bell team didn't blink. They jumped right in, helping us find the perfect addition without any issues. Plus, we had a separate violinist for our ceremony, and it was so impressive to see how effortlessly all the vendors collaborated. No drama, just smooth, professional teamwork, which really speaks volumes about Golden Bell's commitment to making your day seamless. Now, for the ultimate highlight: our after-party! We decided to do something a little different and host it in a wine cellar, and Marlon and his team elevated it beyond anything we could have imagined. When they brought in a fog machine, the entire atmosphere transformed. It wasn't just a party; it was an experience! That fog machine honestly MADE the party, turning the space into something truly epic. I genuinely can't picture it having the same incredible energy without it, so a massive thank you for that unexpected, perfect touch. And because we had a masquerade theme, I asked if the DJs would wear disco masks and they SAID YES and wore them the entire time, even after I told them they absolutely didn't have to for more than one song! It just created such an amazing vibe, and we've got the pictures to prove how much fun everyone had! There's just so much to appreciate about this incredible group. From our very first phone call, we knew we’d made the right choice — they gave off great vibes, were professional, and truly delivered. Everything was perfect, from the rustic façade of the DJ booth to the cocktail hour playlist (which sounded like something we would’ve made ourselves) to the incredible reception music. They were honest, familiar with our venue (Toast in Patchogue), and never tried to upsell us. Mike took the time to go over our preferences beforehand, and he just *got it*. They understood the assignment and gave us a night we’ll never forget. The dance floor was packed the entire evening — not a single person left on the first shuttle because no one wanted to stop dancing, not even my 91-year-old grandma who stayed until the very end! They paid close attention to every detail — from our final dance song to the special tribute song for my brother and every request in between. Throughout the night, they checked in with us to make sure we were happy, seamlessly made announcements to gather guests for photos or speeches, and kept the energy high from start to finish. If you’re debating between hiring just a DJ or a DJ and MC — **get both!** It makes such a difference. The DJ can focus on mixing while the MC hypes up the crowd and keeps everything running smoothly. Our only “complaint” was that the dance floor was *too crowded* — exactly what we wanted! Cocktail hour was perfect — the volume, vibe, and timing were spot-on. Since they knew the layout of Toast, they easily set up music in a separate room with zero issues. The night flowed perfectly; there wasn’t a single awkward pause or song we wanted to skip. It was a nonstop party with amazing energy. We couldn’t be happier with our choice. “Ryan is truly the jack of all trades, the absolute kindest human being, and incredibly professional. We are SO glad he was a (major!) part of our wedding day! He was super communicative when we had questions, helped give us some advice, and *!!!even learned a new song just for us!!!* We had just attended a friends wedding and the music was super unrelatable to my fiance (husband now lol) and our friends. We were bummed and worried - hopeful that ours would be fun and get people out there! Ryan was AMAZING. He curated the perfect playlist, set up THREE different locations to play, AND was super cool to honor all our specific wishes. 10 mins to the end I went to him and said eh we are tired such a long day, we can probably wrap up - he assured me he had some incredible songs for the last few, told me to rally- he DID.
