About Modern Strings
Modern Strings
We are a husband and wife team located in New Haven, Connecticut who have played over 1000+ weddings and hire professionals from the top orchestras in New England. As a modern couple ourselves, recently married in May of 2021, we are very familiar with the process on both sides. Modern Strings offers a variety of ensemble choices for your budget that range from a solo violinist, to an electric duo, to full string quartet. Whether you are wanting to stay classic or try something unique, our music library can offer you classical, pop, religious, film, jazz music, and more!
We believe that the modern couple, should have modern musicians that can take play in a variety of styles in order to create a personalized experience for their event. Planning a wedding is an exciting time, and you'll have not one, but two people to assist in complementing your musical style to your wedding.

Two musicians. Options can be two violins, violin and cello, violin and guitar, or violin & harp. All ensembles are amplified.

Three musicians. Musicians include (2 violins and cello). Amplified.

The Jazz Trio
Three musicians. Usually violin, guitar, and upright bass. Keys can be subbed in place of guitar.

Incredible!
Modern Strings was a fantastic addition to our wedding and made our day so much more magical. They were wonderful to coordinate with during our planning process and were very responsive. It was very important to us to have more modern songs (as their name says) so we were thrilled when we found their music library with just about every we could dream of, including our top ceremony songs choices, which we were struggling to find elsewhere. All our guests raved about them and they made cocktail hour so much better. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

The Perfect Touch
Modern Strings was incredibly easy to work with during the wedding planning process. Celine and Ben knew exactly what we needed to make our day feel special. Perfect Touch for Cocktail Hour
Modern Strings was absolutely beautiful! Their string trio played during our cocktail hour and added such a special touch to our wedding. Amazing
We cannot recommend Modern Strings enough! Celine and Ben were absolutely wonderful to work with from beginning to end. They were incredibly organized, responsive, and helpful throughout the entire planning process. Their communication was fantastic, they offered great suggestions when we needed guidance, and they were also completely open to our ideas and making the music feel personal to us. On our wedding day, they were everything we could have hoped for and more. They are both so beautifully talented, and having live instrumentals during our ceremony added such an elegant, emotional, and special touch to the day. They adapted seamlessly, went with the flow, and handled everything with such professionalism that we never had to worry about a thing. You can tell Celine and Ben genuinely care about creating a beautiful experience for their couples, and we are so grateful they were part of ours. The music was something we were really excited about when planning our ceremony, and hearing it all come together on our wedding day was incredibly special.
