Mad Art Gallery is housed in the former Third District Police Station, a wonderfully renovated example of 1930s Art Deco architecture nested in the historic neighborhood of Soulard. The gallery is an award winning venue boats 17,000 square feet of terrazzo floors and marble hallways. The former squad car garage is now a stunning 3,800 sq feet gallery space equipped with state of the art lighting. Everything that made this space a working police station still lives at Mad Art. The bronze sergeant's desk now serves as a bar, and the jail cells are not only conversation pieces but conversation places! The St Louis Carousel is a wonderfully unique place in which to hold your special event. Our 2400 square foot gallery will seat 200 guests for a sit down dinner, 250 guests for a standing cocktail reception or 125 guests in a classroom setting. Out spacious patio is also available and holds 350 guests. The patio is perfect for an outdoor wedding or for cocktails and greeting guests. Parking is plentiful and the building is ADA accessible. All special event rentals include two staff members who will operate the Carousel during the contracted time.
