Hi! Dreaming of a breathtaking historic wedding? Arcadia Academy, formerly known as Ursuline College, is over 180 years old. We offer multiple ceremony locations including St Joseph's Chapel, historic theater and outdoor pond. We are a family-owned-and-operated venue and catering restaurant. Thank you so much for supporting small family businesses! Have your reception outside in front of the chapel or inside in our air condition and heated reception space that can accommodate over 300 guests. Day of wedding coordinator, bridal and groom getting ready Suites, large tables and elegant white chiavari chairs are included in the rental. We have on-site lodging, delicious 5 star rated catering, and affordable bar services. Even if you don't choose us, a tour is worth the trip for the history and architecture alone!

St. Joseph's Chapel

Stunning St. Joseph's Chapel, built in 1907.

St. Joseph's Chapel will leave your guests in awe and amazement. As you walk inside, the beautiful hand-painted stained glass windows will take your breath away. The chapel is non-denominational and you may choose your own religious or non-religious ceremony.

The Gymnasium

The Historic Gymnasium, Built in 1930.

This reception space can accommodate up to 300 guests. Large round tables and white chiavari chairs are included with the rental. Your guests will be amazed with the beautiful draping, elegant upgrades, original herringbone floor and one-of-a-kind truss ceiling.

The Laundry House

One of the Original Buildings at the Academy, the Laundry House. Built in 1873 and beautifully restored in 2016.

This space is perfect for a rehearsal dinner, wedding shower, or birthday. The event space is located on the first floor and is handicap accessible. The second and third floors offer multiple bed and breakfast accommodations for overnight guests at additional charge.

Description

Did you know that an engaged couple uses an average of 14 vendors for their wedding?! That is 14 contracts, 14 down-payments, 14 email conversations, 14 businesses you'll have to coordinate to be at the same place at the same time. Wowsa! We are working on providing All-Inclusive packages here at the Academy. But first, we want to nail the most important (guests think) part of the day: FOOD AND BOOZE.

    Venue and Cartering

    From start to finish, Arcadia Academy was absolutely wonderful. We chose them in 2024 for our 2026 wedding because we completely fell in love with both the property and the family behind it. No joke, it was the very first venue we toured, and we immediately knew it was the one. The owners will do just about anything to help make your day special as long as you're communicative and respectful. They have put so much love and effort into restoring the property, preserving its history, and sharing the stories that make the Academy such a unique place. We visited several times before the wedding, and every single trip we learned something new or heard another exciting story about their future plans for the property. Our wedding party was incredibly impressed with both the venue and the team. In fact, several people said they want to come back for a ghost tour, and a few even joked that they may have found their own future wedding venue! Our guests couldn't stop complimenting the food and the beauty of the property. And speaking of food. Did I mention the food was FANTASTIC?! Whether it was our wedding meal or dining in the restaurant on previous visits, everything was consistently 10/10. Honestly, everything about our wedding day was wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be back to explore the nearby state parks, enjoy more amazing food, and maybe even take one of those ghost tours!     Thee Abbey Catering

    Working with Chrystal at Arcadia Academy has been great! She's always attentive and on time. She is easy to work with and super accommodating! We love making food for her weddings and events and everyone is always so complimentary of her and the venue. The venue itself is stunning and definitely a must see! It is one of kind and we've never seen anything like it. We will definitely be back for life

    MUST BOOK!!!

    This place is drop dead GORGEOUS!! Everything you could want for a classy, rustic, and elegant wedding. I cannot put enough good words about this place. And OH MY GOD the food!!! Absolutely delicious, everything was served hot but so fresh tasting as if it was done minutes before it was served. Very impressed by this beautiful venue. If I ever get married again, I'll come back! That's how good it was!!

Unfortunately due to our liquor license and insurance, we do not allow outside food or drink.
Yes, we have lots of onsite parking.
Yes, a majority of our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We also have ramps at the main and side entrances. The only facility that is not accessible is the Theater.
Set up, clean up, tables, chairs, buffet chaffing dishes, plastic plates and cutlery, unsweetened iced tea, sweet tea, lemonade and water.
Rental of the Chapel and Gymnasium starts from sun up until 11 pm. Last call for alcohol is 10:30 pm and music must stop at 11 pm.
Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are non-refundable. If you cancel your event within 40 days of your booked date, we’ll bill you the full amount of all estimated charges.
Insurance is highly recommended.
