Sylvanside Farm is truly something special. I knew it was the perfect venue the moment I pulled onto the property- the kind of immediate, overwhelming feeling that you can’t really explain but just know. The beauty of the grounds, the peaceful surroundings, and the charm of every corner of the farm created such a sense of calm and excitement all at once. It felt like the exact place I wanted to begin such an important chapter of my life. What stood out to me most was the atmosphere the farm creates. It’s elegant without trying too hard, rustic without being rough, and romantic in a way that feels completely natural. The barns, the fields, the historic touches, and the overall warmth of the setting all come together to make the entire property feel like a dream. You don’t just see the beauty, you feel it. The team at Sylvanside was equally wonderful. Their professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for their couples shine through in everything they do. They make the planning process feel smooth and supported, and it’s clear they truly want your day to be perfect. My whole planning process was stress-free. Choosing Sylvanside Farm was one of the easiest decisions I made. The experience has been nothing short of amazing from start to finish, and I’m so grateful to have found a venue that feels so meaningful and magical. I cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone looking for a place that will take your breath away and make your wedding day unforgettable. Our day was perfect!

My husband and I had our wedding on October 19th at Avonlea Farms and could not have asked for a more perfect venue, from the beautiful grounds to the amazing staff and owners. When we first toured, saw the greenhouse, and met Debbie and Clint, we knew that this had to be the place for our special day - and obviously made the right choice. I would recommend that anyone looking for a gorgeous and unique venue choose Avonlea Farms for their wedding as well! While we got a spot of rain during the reception, the pavilion and greenhouse thankfully kept everyone dry so the party could keep going. The bridal suite and groom’s cottage are perfect places to get ready, with plenty of space and all the amenities you could need! The lovely owners are also constantly making improvements, we were happily surprised with the addition of a paved path through the church pews and the new chandeliers in the vintage greenhouse. Thank you for hosting our special day, and making everything so easy and beautiful!

The arches and covered spaces are easy to make your own with decor and provide the perfect backdrop. The get ready space and parking is not ideal, but they have come such a long way in a short amount of time and continuing to make improvements every day as a brand new venue! There is a special sort of feeling that being here at the farm brings, a calm and peaceful energy about the property. Maybe it is the history, there is comfort in knowing the original farmhouse, which sits at the center of the property, has stood for over two centuries. Maybe its the rustic beauty of the big white barn, that was built by farmers as a dairy barn in 1920. This little slice of heaven has been a part of so many families who lived and worked this land over the past 250 years. Come and see for yourself.

What a magical spot for our special day! We chose Belles Pleasure for our wedding, and it exceeded every expectation. The venue’s rustic barn is absolutely adorable—think charming wooden beams, string lights, and that cozy, vintage vibe that made our reception feel intimate and timeless. The beautiful little pond added such a serene touch; our photos by the water were straight out of a fairytale, with the gentle reflections and surrounding greenery creating the perfect backdrop. Emily, the owner, was an absolute dream to work with. From our first tour to the big day, she was incredibly accommodating, helping us customize everything from seating arrangements to last-minute tweaks without any fuss. Her warm, flexible approach made the planning process stress-free, and she went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. If you’re dreaming of a picturesque, heartfelt wedding venue that’s not over-the-top but full of character, Belles Pleasure is it. We couldn’t recommend it more highly—5 stars all the way!

Selecting The Estate at River Run as our wedding venue was the single best decision we made throughout our entire wedding planning process. It wasn't just a venue; it felt like home and provided the perfect backdrop for one of the most important days of our lives. From our engagement photos to our rehearsal dinner and the wedding day itself, this stunning estate was a dream. We opted for the Friday early access package in addition to the overnight package, and it made all the difference. We got access to the Estate at 2pm on Friday and my bridesmaids and I were able to stay the night before, which transformed the wedding morning into a truly relaxing and joyous experience. We were able to handle all the final preparations on Friday, leaving Saturday morning completely stress-free. The true magic of this venue, however, lies with Kim and her team. They are, without a doubt, the best in the business. Their kindness, professionalism, incredible attention to detail, and seamless organization are unmatched. They truly think of everything, anticipating needs before you even realize you have them. Their guidance and support were a genuine blessing, allowing us to be fully present and enjoy every moment. Absoluetly LOVED this venue! The moment I first stepped on the property, I fell in love and *knew* this was the place my husband and I were going to get married. Angela and her staff set everything up just the way I wanted it, and it went so smoothly! There are *so* many different options of locations to have the ceremony. Due Sorelle provides plenty of tables and chairs, and the staff will set them up for you - one less thing for you to have to worry about on your big day! I also loved that we had access to the barn the night before the wedding so I could set up the reception and not have to worry about finding someone to do that the morning of. Angela was a bit confusing to communicate with at times? Just some random things here and there - asking for details, scheduling things, and some either miscommunication or lack thereof. She was super sweet! I had just wished the communication process were a little smoother. Overall I loved Due Sorelle and would absolutely recommend it to anyone!

Guildford Farm

5.0

Ruckersville, VA
  • Up to 200 guests
  • Select services
  • Outdoor & indoor
  • Starts at $6,500

Guildford Farm is located just north of Charlottesville in Greene County, tucked away in the heart of Virginia’s wine country. This ideal wedding and event venue boasts the perfect setting with fantastic panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, rolling green meadows, and a shimmering lake. An event at Guildford Farm is enhanced by exquisite scenery, natural charm, and rich history.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Offers convenient lodging options
  • Multiple event spaces
  • Dressing room available

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • On-site parking not available
  • Does not allow pets
We don't have enough incredible things to say about Guildford Farm. We paired our event with Katie's planning services which is a must-do; however, i'm separating the venue review from the specific owner's planning (she was stellar). The venue includes both the reception/wedding space, and also a home, and I am including both in this review. 1, VALUE- Incredible value for a full weekend and on-site lodging. The amount we and our bridal party saved in hotel cost more than makes up for the full-weekend fee, and what could possibly be better than hanging out with your favorite friends all weekend? If you're looking for winery-aesthetic with more freedom and lower cost than most C-ville winery venues, this is your spot. The best part is this reception/wedding space is a blank canvas and can be dressed up several ways, so you aren't cornered into a vibe (ex. don't have to go rustic, don't have to go glam, etc). 2, PHOTOS - gorgeous photo spots. They have a classic bridal suite, 2 balconies, mountain backdrops, field backdrops, a pond, and a home with so much vintage character packed into aesthetic rooms - three of which are themed by color which makes for adorable photos with 10/10 natural morning lighting. The venue includes a masculine den for groomsman photos. The arbor is built-in which also saves time and improves photos. 3, FUN - As of writing this review, the venue comes with over-sized games (ex. jenga, connect-4) which makes cocktail hour way more fun. It also comes with a bar which saves lots of for rentals. If you like fishing, there is a pond, and trails for hiking. There is also a sick basement space for groomsmen to stash away and hang out all day. If you want a "royalty" moment, there is an interior balcony from the bridal suite where you can go watch the party (or bridal party entrances) from far above. 4, PRIVATE - There is nothing around to cause any sort of noise disturbance or traffic or wedding crashers. There is shopping/target about 15 minutes away, so you can run out to get emergency items if needed. The stars at night are super bright due to minimal light pollution. 5, EASY - If you have anxiety about timelines being crunched, your reception ending too early, or forgetting your rings in your bedroom, Guildford is the best possible venue to battle those fears. The layout allows for easy movement between spaces which minimizes risk of timeline-derailment. While we didn't run into weather issues, I would say the venue can moderately flex for rain - they have backup plans, and while obviously any rain plan is not ideal, your wedding attendees wouldn't be soaked and you could still have a pretty ceremony/reception. It's also high on a hill, which means ground would be less muddy. Will return to the review to upload photos if Zola allows me to.

Eastwood Farm and Winery was an incredible venue for our wedding. The communication style of the team, especially Emma the event manager, was incredibly prompt, friendly, and professional. From the beginning, they were responsive to our questions and provided beautiful photos that helped us envision our dream day, even though we were planning our wedding from across the country. On the day of, Emma was on site to manage the events and ensure everything went smoothly. The tent they provided as a rain backup was stunning and proved to be a lifesaver when we needed it. The views at the venue were breathtaking, and the separate event space away from the winery was perfect for our celebration. Out of over 20 venues we contacted in the Charlottesville area, Eastwood Farm and Winery stood out, and we're so glad we chose them to host our special day.

The wedding was absolutely wonderful and exactly what my daughter wanted. All our guests were well taken care of and had a great time. Mary was our coordinate and she was fantastic to work with. She helped keep us on track with all of our vendors. The wedding was before the sunset and it was pretty bright out for our guests but it was perfect for the wedding party and for pictures. We had rented a tent in case of foul weather which thankfully didn't happen. We had a cocktail hour under the tent during pictures, dinner under the wisteria and used the pavilion for dancing. I was a tad nervous about a guest count of around 125 but it worked beautifully!

The rural setting provided a gorgeous, natural backdrop for our celebration, with plenty of room for our family and friends to spread out and enjoy the live band playing old time music, the square dance, and the barbecue buffet in the barn. The kids had a blast running around, playing in the sandboxes, and blowing bubbles. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect, laid-back setting to tie the knot. They generously let us store some of our flowers, food, and beer in their large walk-in cooler. Our caterer was able to set up in a closed off space in the barn that was out of site. Highly recommend Bellair Farm for any couple who is doing a DIY wedding event and looking for understated natural beauty and a relaxed setting that is kid-friendly.

The Barn at Tiffin Farm was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding. The owners were incredibly responsive, kind, and easy to collaborate with throughout the entire planning process. The venue itself is absolutely stunning - the large barn doors open up to reveal a beautiful rustic space with breathtaking scenery all around. The bridal suite is especially impressive, with a luxurious and calming atmosphere. On the night of our wedding, when a storm rolled in at the end of the night, the owner even went out of his way to personally drive guests to their cars in his golf cart to keep everyone dry. We are so grateful for the Barn at Tiffin Farm team and the role they played in making our special day absolutely perfect.

We had their wine and sangria for our reception (IMPECCABLE) and they had provided us with a list of vendors they’ve worked with which made finding a caterer, photographer, makeup artist, officiant, etc. SOOO much easier - especially since we were coming from out of state. There are so many picture perfect spots on their property that will truly feel like a scene out of a movie. I honestly can’t say enough amazing things about them!

Everything about our planning process and wedding day at Pippin Hill was simply magical. Pippin Hill truly knows how to make a wedding day smooth, seamless, and beautiful. Part of why we chose to get married at Pippin Hill was the breathtaking scenery, but also because of their many plan B options. We knew there was a chance it could rain during our outdoor wedding ceremony, and their rain option, the Veranda, is gorgeous as well. Somehow we ended up dodging Hurricane Dorian’s precipitation for our September 6th wedding and we were able to get married on the lawn with 122 of our closest family members and friends as witnesses. Davis and her team were incredible, the food was exceptional, and overall we just had the best day ever! I loved getting ready in the bridal loft with my girls. On the day-of, I honestly felt 0 stress because I knew the team at Pippin Hill would take care of everything perfectly. I enjoyed every moment of the day. These people are professionals and will put every worry that you may have to rest. I can not recommend Pippin Hill enough!
