Beautiful venue. Less-desirable customer service.

We held our wedding in the gardens and Pavilion at Airlie. They offered a beautiful setting and the perfect indoor/outdoor feel we desired. The day-of went fairly smoothly, thanks to a lot of planning and great weather. If you seriously consider Airlie for your wedding, keep in mind a few things: • Communications are very delayed--it took several days to get responses to simple questions and responses often were incomplete or inconsistent. If you are proactive and detail-oriented, you can make it work. • The venue coordinator was very hands-off, so make sure your planner can help with things like putting up signage on the day of your wedding. We had to handle that in the middle of getting ready because both vendors said the other one would handle it--and no one did. :) • The piece that left a bad taste in our mouth--the management team interrupted wedding preparation to ask for payments for the breakfast that was taking place the next day, which was not private and anyone could have shown up so the headcount was not yet known. Regardless, this could have been discussed any time leading up to the day of the wedding vs. how it was handled. At the breakfast the next morning, the management was extremely rude. All in all, if you're on top of things and the setting is more important than the experience leading up to it, Airlie is a beautiful place to have a wedding or special event.
