About this venue

Sylvanside Farm, established in 1744, evokes the ambiance of a small village in the European countryside. In 2018, the farm was purchased and restored to its former glory. The goal in hosting weddings is to preserve this special land, Loudoun’s rich farming heritage and the beautiful rural landscape of Loudoun County, Virginia.

Spring-blooming apple, cherry, and magnolia trees, which frame a rectangular lawn in our homestead’s orchard, provide an unspeakably beautiful backdrop for couples who are hoping for natural, outdoor beauty to illuminate their ceremony. The site boasts an organic altar of two boxwoods that can be decorated to suit. This intimate setting can accommodate weddings of up to 225 guests.

At over 200 feet long, our Poplar Barn makes Sylvanside Farm one of the largest barn venues in Virginia. The post-and-beam structure is not only renowned for its scale, but also its sense of rustic grandeur. Able to host up to 225 seated guests for any occasion, it provides a weather-proof rain date alternative for weddings or large parties.

Our lovely Pond is the backdrop for your ceremony

Our beautiful pond with a handsome 1744 cabin in the background makes the perfect backdrop for your wedding ceremony. Or you could use it for Cocktail hour and lawn games. Guests love to take photos of themselves at the pond and with our friendly Clydesdale horses Addy and Sunday.

The Stone Barn is the heart of Sylvanside Farm’s old-world charm. Originally hand-built in 1744, the craftsmanship is a clear nod to love that stands the test of time. The space is perfect for an intimate reception, a covered space for an indoor ceremony (hello, rain plan!), cocktail reception with the built-in bar, or as a backdrop for photoshoots with our friendly team of Clydesdales.

Sylvanside Farm is truly something special. I knew it was the perfect venue the moment I pulled onto the property- the kind of immediate, overwhelming feeling that you can’t really explain but just know. The beauty of the grounds, the peaceful surroundings, and the charm of every corner of the farm created such a sense of calm and excitement all at once. It felt like the exact place I wanted to begin such an important chapter of my life. What stood out to me most was the atmosphere the farm creates. It’s elegant without trying too hard, rustic without being rough, and romantic in a way that feels completely natural. The barns, the fields, the historic touches, and the overall warmth of the setting all come together to make the entire property feel like a dream. You don’t just see the beauty, you feel it. The team at Sylvanside was equally wonderful. Their professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for their couples shine through in everything they do. They make the planning process feel smooth and supported, and it’s clear they truly want your day to be perfect. My whole planning process was stress-free. Choosing Sylvanside Farm was one of the easiest decisions I made. Sylvanside Farm was our first and only venue visit for our daughter’s wedding. The beautiful grounds and historical buildings on the farm made it an easy decision for us all. The owners, Terri and Jeff, have restored their property with utmost respect to its historical charm. Having on site lodging allowed both families to spend quality time together and hosting the rehearsal dinner on site made for an all around relaxing weekend. The curated list of preferred vendors, which Sylvanside provides, was very helpful and each vendor that we selected from their list was top notch. Terri and Jeff were very accommodating and responsive throughout the planning process and I highly recommend their venue for your special day.

Sylvanside Farm is an amazing venue with multiple beautiful spaces to use for your wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. There are also lots of beautiful spots on the property for portraits, like the 50 year old weeping cherry blossom tree by the pond.

I was so overwhelmed by all of the " what ifs" that come along with wedding planning. Terri and Jeff run a well oiled machine at Sylvanside and have thought about pretty much every contingency plan possible making it easy for me to just relax and be present. Not to mention, the farm! I couldn't believe how magical of a space it is. There are old willowing trees, beautiful flowers and an energy to the place that is so serene. I can't believe this place exists in NOVA. It feels like you're stepping into the European countryside!
