    Such a beautiful day!!

    We chose Riverside on the Potomac for our wedding and it was the right call. Suzanne was always quick to email back, which made planning feel smooth and stress-free. They were very specific with directions and expectations, so we knew exactly what to unfold on our big day. The space itself is beautiful with air conditioning, a separate catering area, and clean bathrooms—everything you need in one spot. It was a wonderful day and we are so happy that we chose to work with these wonderful people!

    Bride

    We couldn't have asked for a better venue than Riverside on the Potomac. From our first conversation throughout the big day, Suzi and made everything feel straightforward and stress-free with clear communication at every step. When we arrived, everything was spotless and organized, and Suzi went above and beyond by capturing candid moments between my dad and me before the ceremony which were photos we never would have gotten otherwise. The space itself is stunning and cozy, with just the right amount of room to accommodate any guest list comfortably. I’d also highly recommend working with coordinator Delia-Anne, who knows the venue inside and out and made planning feel effortless. Our wedding day was exactly what we imagined, and we owe so much of that to this incredible venue & owners!

    Cozy Barn Wedding even in the rain!

    I had my April wedding at ROTP and highly recommend this venue! Our wedding had significant rain and thus we had to pivot to our rain plan which was using the patio as a ceremony space. The ceremony felt intimate and was easily able to accommodate 170 guests. We held our reception in the barn which was beautifully decorated. The owners of the venue are also fantastic and present on the wedding day as well as flexible with coordinating pre and post wedding item drop which was a huge life saver. Highly recommend!

    Wedding at Riverside on the Potomac

    Riverside on the Potomac is truly the place to be if you are looking for a rustic barn or farm look for your wedding. Having recently hosted both my ceremony and reception there, I can totally recommend this venue to anyone envisioning a farm-style celebration. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful, offering breathtaking views and sweeping landscapes that create a stunning backdrop for photos. The venue itself is just lovely, with historic structures and meticulously maintained grounds that provide a sense of intimacy and timeless charm. Because it works so well for both the ceremony and the reception, the entire event feels seamless and allows you to fully enjoy the scenic, serene atmosphere. It is a wonderful, versatile location that captures a perfect blend of natural elegance and rustic character.

    Inter Denomination Wedding

    I recently had the honor of hosting my son’s traditional Indian wedding at Riverside on the Potomac, and I could not be more grateful for the exceptional service and experience provided. From the first meeting with the team to the very last moment of the reception, every detail was handled with the highest level of professionalism, care, and dedication. The venue itself offered an elegant and welcoming atmosphere that made the perfect backdrop for such a special occasion. This venue is a family owned business, and Suzi and her team were warm, accomdating, and a true pleasure to work with. They stayed in costant contact with the wedding party all day and were always quick to lend a hand to anyone they observed may need it, guests and other vendors alike. They were a huge part of making the weekend a great success. The grounds and facilities were well kept and very clean. Many of the guests commented on how beautiful the setting was and how smoothly everything was managed. The outdoor ceremony site featuring a stone patio and pond was truly beautiful and large enough to accommodate 200 guests and a traditional Mandap for the inter-denominational ceremony. The beautiful barn for sangeet/mehendi and next day for reception was lit with lanterns and stringed bulb lighting, which worked perfectly with our planned decor. The venue rental includes 20 round tables and 200 chairs that can be used for the ceremony and reception as well as several other furnishings. This venue also allows you full vendor flexibility, which was invaluable when planning our prefect Indian / Carribean event. As a parent, it brought me great joy and comfort to know that my son and his bride could fully enjoy their wedding day without any concerns. The team at Riverside on the Potomac created an environment where every moment felt effortless, meaningful, and memorable. On behalf of our families, I extend my sincere thanks to the entire team at Riverside on the Potomac for helping us celebrate this milestone with such grace and excellence. We will always look back on this day with gratitude and happiness, and we would wholeheartedly recommend Riverside on the Potomac to any family seeking the perfect wedding venue. Tours are by appointment, one couple or group at a time. Before we schedule a tour, we will send you pricing information for your desired date. Please email or phone to schedule a tour.
We do a nine-hour rental period. Additional hours may be purchased however all events must end by 11:00 pm. We hold one event per day.
Our outdoor wedding choices are The Waterfall Terrace, The Gardens, or The Cattail View, or for smaller weddings the Historic Log Chapel Grounds. We also provide three inclement weather venue choices, The Long Stable Gallery, The Stable, or the Historic Reception Barn.
Our Reception Barn and The Stable are climate controlled with heat and air conditioning. The Stable (circa, 1750) is climate controlled. The Long Stable Gallery for the chillier months has patio heaters or can be enclosed with clear tent siding and heated as need be
We can comfortably seat 300 guests for a dinner with large dancing area and large lounge for beverage service. Our weddings have ranged in size from third nine guests to three hundred and fifty guests.
The bride and her ladies can change in our historic home, they may use the front parlor, the dining room, and the library. The groom and his gentlemen have the Groom’s Lounge in The Stable. Both spaces are climate-controlled.
We provide a terrific list of approved caterers. We also allow outside caterers with Certificate of Insurance, licenses, and a prearranged site visit with our representative.
Yes, Riverside on the Potomac is a BYOB facility.
We provide a list of preferred vendors, or you may hire the coordinator of your choice. A member of our staff is here the day of your event to provide that our facility is in working order and to help with the parking of vehicles, unloading of transportation, and vendor access to the facility.
Yes, we allow candles and lanterns. The flame must not be higher than the rim of the container or glass. We also allow LED candles on beams and other venue decor areas.
Yes, we do allow them outdoors on gravel or asphalt areas.
