The heart of the property, The Highland Barn is both cozy and grand. With wood beams, vaulted ceilings, and handcrafted details, every inch feels warm and inviting. This main space features a built-in bar, dimmable lighting, and sliding barn doors that open to let in natural light and views of the surrounding mountains.     Stunning views, stunning location

    Highland Ridge Farm is an amazing venue. The venue itself was beautiful, with stunning views and ample space for a celebration. To ensure every wedding at Highland Ridge runs seamlessly, we require couples to hire a professional, approved day-of coordinator. Your coordinator must: Be an insured business in operation for at least 3 years Not be attending the wedding as a guest Sign our venue’s Coordinator Guidelines While our venue host will be onsite to oversee the property and ensure the facility runs smoothly, a professional coordinator plays a larger role. They manage your timeline, communicate with vendors, oversee setup of personal décor, handle last-minute logistics, and keep everything on track so you don’t have to.
Yes, we require a General Liability Policy through Event Helper, Wed Safe, Wed Sure or another provider in the minimum amounts of $1 million General with Host Liquor Liability naming Highland Ridge Farm as additionally insured. Typically this costs between $100-$200.
We’ll always do our best to accommodate a ceremony rehearsal, but it depends on our event schedule. When available, we offer a one-hour rehearsal time from 9:00–10:00 AM the day prior to your wedding. While we can’t guarantee availability in advance, we’ll confirm your rehearsal time closer to your date and communicate any conflicts as early as possible.
Access to the venue begins at 11:00am on the day of your wedding. We ask that music is off by 11:00pm with load out completed by midnight. You are welcome to add early access time to the dressing suites for $750/hour. This may be something to consider for larger wedding parties!
Yes! We offer on-site cottage that can be added to your rental. The cottage sleeps 6, making it ideal for wedding party members or close family who want to stay nearby or as a honeymoon suite. Access begins at 11:00 AM on your wedding day (same as your venue rental), with checkout at 9:00 AM the following morning.

All alcohol service at Highland Ridge Farm must be handled by a caterer from our approved list. You have two options: Your caterer provides the bar - All of our approved caterers are fully licensed and permitted to provide and serve alcohol, making the process seamless for you. Provide your own alcohol – If you prefer to bring your own, you’ll need to obtain a one-day banquet license through Virginia ABC. Even in this case, all alcohol must still be served by your caterer’s licensed and insured bartenders. We do not allow self-service bars or outside bartenders.
