​The barn has been built from the ground up by Craig Carpenter, his brother Timmy Carpenter and other family and friends. Many of the trees use to build the barn were harvested from their property and were prepared at their saw mill on site. The idea for a wedding venue began was a dream of their daughter, now Zimmerwald's Estate manager Katie Carpenter White. What began as a simple dream and a sketch on a piece of notebook paper, has now become a reality. We are extremely excited to be a place where beautiful family memories can be made and couples can begin their happily ever after!

We are a full-service resort with event venues, lodging, a hot tub building, Chez Josephine Restaurant, a beer/wine tasting room, RV Park, and Harvest Host. We have one of the most scenic sites for your event, with 1.5 miles of riverbanks along the Roaring River. Few sites have an actual river, perhaps a creek, but this is the east prong of the Roaring River that flows down from Stone Mountain.
