“My daughter recently got married in Newport, Rhode Island, on September 14th, 2024. She choose to have her reception in a tent on the lawn of the Eisenhower House. The venue was stunning and the woman at EH recommended Clockwork as we were looking for a local band with horns to play at the reception. We were not able to hear them in person, but all the video's posted online more than helped our decision making process and we quickly booked the band 20 months in advance, It was our second decision in the wedding process after the venue -with many, many more to come, but without a doubt - IT WAS THE BEST DECISION!!!! Booking was easy - we sent a check to reserve the date. the catalog of music they are capable of playing is extensive. But we had a tremendous comfort level with Clockwork New England as the contract states YOU GET THE EXACT MUSICIANS you see on all the website videos. There are no switches, or long lists of band members they slot in on any given day. Everyone we saw and loved are the people that showed up for our event. From start to finish - the band rocked the night away - the dance floor was never empty. They sang the bride and grooms song 'You are the Best Thing" and it was spectacular. And every song after that just got us up off our feet. The horns added so much - we keep hearing from friends asking us who they were, because they LOVED the music. The interactions with the crowd also made the night so memorable - and some of the best videos of the night. The band worked well together - and we just cannot say enough about how much they added to the party. They were super nice and awesome musicians. It started raining an hour into our cocktails so we had to move inside, and the bassist switched to playing a piano so that we could continue the music inside. Everyone was so impressed by how multi-talented they were!! Loved them and wish we had them play music for more of our reception. Before the wedding, I had actual nightmares about who would DJ my wedding (no idea why… just mustve been what I was most nervous for?! LOL) and WOW those nightmares were all wrong. “The short version of this review: if you want the music at your wedding to be awesome and exactly what YOU love to hear, and without cheesey emcee vibes, hire Marcus! Marcus did such an amazing job DJing our wedding, we couldn’t be more thrilled. He is extremely thoughtful with his work. He took careful note of my husband and my musical tastes and preferences, as well as the vibe of our wedding, instead of playing a standard tired playlist. Per our request, he blended in some Latin music seamlessly. The dance floor was full and lively all night long, exactly as we had hoped for! He played songs we hadn’t requested but that we love, leaving me wondering how he could have known so well what to play. He also respected our “do not play” list, as I found out multiple guests requested songs on it and he politely declined. Marcus is very thorough and organized which made working with him so easy- he was on top of all the details, order of events/cues, even reviewed proper name pronunciation with us in advance. The event manager at our venue said she loved working with him and was very impressed. Marcus has such a kind and warm personality, and a really special talent- we feel so lucky that he was part of our big day!”

“We honestly cannot say enough kind words about Superior Sound and DJ Kelvin!! They take the time to meet with you and know what you want. They execute it extremely well!! Since the wedding, we have had so many people tell us how much they loved our DJ and how GOOD he was!! He engages with you and your wedding guests, reads the rooms, does transitions, announcements and MC-ing so so well (I’m so picky about the announcement/MC aspect because sometimes it can feel so awkward and unnatural). But Kelvin crushed it!! I work in the wedding industry, and the value of what you get vs. what you pay is honestly unreal! Finding a vendor who treats you with professionalism while also like a friend/like family is so crucial for you wedding day to be successful. Cannot recommend them enough!!! In fact, we loved them so much that my parents just booked their services with Kelvin for a work event they host every summer!!! We absolutely love them!”
