Clockwork Boston did such a great job at our July 2025 wedding in Rhode Island! Everyone had an incredible time dancing. We found it very easy to work with them throughout the planning process, and they had great suggestions for music that would keep the crowd engaged. Would highly recommend them!

Before the ceremony for our August 9th wedding at The Barn at Gibbet Hill, one of our bridesmaids walked past Clockwork Boston’s female singer, Edith, as she was warming up. When our bridesmaid’s jaw dropped, the band’s male singer, Donnell, said, “Yeah, Edith is that good.” She was, and so was the rest of Clockwork Boston. From the moment Edith checked in with us before introductions, we knew we were in great hands. Not only is she an amazing singer, but also an excellent MC with a calming confidence. Clockwork Boston learned our first dance song and performed it perfectly. Before the entrees were even served, guests were already on the dance floor and they stayed there all night. The setlist was well-balanced, each band member was full of energy, and they incorporated just the right amount of crowd interaction. We haven’t spoken to a single guest who didn’t specifically say “that band was incredible,” and many have already told us they were the best wedding band they’ve ever heard. We couldn’t be happier with our choice to have Clockwork Boston at our wedding, and we encourage anyone else to do the same.

Clockwork was an excellent choice for our wedding band and DJ. Their communication was concise, organized, and punctual throughout the planning process, putting us at ease. On the day of, they were amazing to work with - the band got the crowd going with their diverse and talented repertoire, and the DJ kept the energy high with an engaging performance. Our guests loved the music and thought it was the perfect volume, not too loud. We highly recommend Clockwork for any couple looking for a talented and professional wedding entertainment team.

We will learn it! Or we can play the actual recording for you to dance to. Dancing to the recording is quite common, and for a lot of couples it removes those "first dance jitters" because they know exactly how it’s going to sound (and quite often they’ve been practicing dancing to the recording). Honestly, you won't offend us in the least if you ask us to "DJ" your first dance!

Most wedding receptions are 5 hours long: 1 hour for cocktails, and 4 hours for the reception (dinner and dancing), and there’s a reason for that. A four-hour reception seems to be the right amount of time to create a very fun atmosphere, to get everyone dancing, and have the energy peak before people get too tired. Keep in mind that after dinner, there is continuous high-energy music until the end of the reception.

During a 4-hour reception, we take two breaks. The first is during dinner when the main course is being served. After dinner we play two dance sets, and bridge the gap between these two sets with the high-energy DJ set (about 15 minutes in length).

Yes. In fact, you can put together your own custom playlist specifying exactly which songs are to be played during each break. Just give us a list, and we'll put it together! Or you can rely on us to put together a great mix to "DJ" the breaks.

No. We perform only one event each day, thereby giving each event our undivided attention. Furthermore, you will never be charged a penalty or extra stipend if your reception happens to be during “crossover” times (from late afternoon into early evening).

Getting your guests to the dance floor and keeping them there is our number one goal; isn’t that why you hire a band in the first place? Having performed at so many weddings in the past, we have a good sense as to which songs to pick to get people on the dance floor. Once the dancing has started, we string songs together into medleys (so there’s not that awkward “dead air” in between songs), gradually building the energy from one song to the next.
